A short review about washing up

Advantages: OK if your dishes aren't too dirty
Disadvantages: Not as good as the branded products

...Whilst wandering around our local branch of Tesco?s the other week I noticed a display of ?discount items? not to be confused with the Tesco Value or Tesco Market Value range. The discount range all have a small square flash on them in yellow with the words ?discount brands at Tesco? in red and a £ sign being cut with a pair of scissors. I suppose it is yet another ploy to help us save money or at least make us think that we are saving money ? or am I being a bit sceptical? The discount items were mainly in a range called Daisy which I hadn?t heard of before but I decided to try the washing up liquid. I purchased the concentrated washing up liquid with antibacterial action in the 500ml size which cost me 67p. Had I chosen the standard Daisy washing up liquid in the same 500ml size it would have cost me just 57p. The idea is...

Purple washing up liquid!

...When in my local branch of Tesco?s the other week I needed to buy some washing up liquid and so headed to the relevant aisle in search of a good deal. I noticed that the Tesco Antibacterial Washing Up Liquid costing 92p for 500ml was on special offer of 2 bottles for £1.20. I thought this sounded like a good deal so I bought two bottles. The bottle is made from clear plastic and so is fully recycleable and has a flip top lid. Through the bottle I could see the lovely rich purple colour of the washing up liquid which is French Lavender fragrance. The notes on the back of the bottle offer the customer the ?best ever performance, cleaning ability and grease removal?. There are instructions for use on the back of the bottle although I can?t imagine anyone actually needing to read instructions on how to use washing up...

...Why, oh why, I ask myself, do good brand names play around with their products and end up making them worse, instead of better. It happened with Special K when they converted to bigger flakes instead of the tiny ones and the taste was ruined. Um! Sorry getting carried away on another topic. Well, what they have done to Persil washing up liquid is a similar thing. (No, they haven?t made it into flakes.) Something has happened to the formula. I used to use Persil for when I hand wash dishes but went over to Fairy. The other day I decided to go back because I spotted a beautifully, milky, pale green coloured aloe vera Persil liquid and I really quite fancied it. Anyway, I did my usual and just squirted the liquid into the wash up bowl, added hot water and started the job. There were a lot of bubbles for amount of the product I had used...

...I was doing a bit of washing up this morning and was conscious of a lovely fragrance in the kitchen. After a minute or two I realised that it was the washing up liquid! The one I was using at the time was Fairy Pink Petals. I tend to buy my washing up liquid according to what is on offer at the time but to be fair you do get what you pay for and fairy is by far the best. The cheaper brands aren't as strong so you need more in your water to start with and also the bubbles don't last as long. Fairy is hardly a new kid on the block - as my old dad would say 'It's been around since Adam was a lad!' ...Living above the family's grocery store, I don't normally need to nip out to buy things like this, but one week a few years ago while my Dad was having to keep spending on stock to a minimum, I ended up having to do so. Past choiches having been restrict to Fairy liquid, HAPPY SHOPPER own brand + "Squezy", and the Ecover stuff i covered in a previous review. I'd plonk this one as the 2nd best of these after Fairy.... Happy shopper 3rd, Squezy 4th & Ecover last. ...'s pretty weak, and the suds don't last as long as a proper washing-up liquid such as Fairy Liquid, and it smells REALLY bad. LOOKS While most washing-up liquids are usually green in colouration, or perhaps Yellow if it's a lemon scented one, this stuff I recall is either a clear or clear with a whitish tinge to it....... in other words it looks a bit like sperm.
