Brecon Carreg Still Water
Advantages: Refreshing!
Disadvantages: It's just water!
...Water water everywhere, so let's all have a drink...at a slight cost to the consumer of course. The inventor of 'bottled water' is little short of a genius in my eyes, but then again we all need to make a living, so here's a product from one of those geniuses - Brecon Carreg Still Mineral Water.
Coming from the deepest, darkest depths of the Welsh Valleys, Brecon Carreg is filtered through layers of limestone at 'Black Mountain' (that's somewhere in the Brecon Beacons for all those looking for a small geography lesson!). It's bottled at the source, as are all good brands of bottled water to help keep it's clean, fresh taste.
Being natural mineral water there's no additional ingredients to help shelf-life or taste, but instead contains quantities of all the important minerals floating around in the Welsh mountains, such as...

Still Waters run Deep
Advantages: Nice and fresh to smell and nice and cheap to buy
Disadvantages: None I could find
...size!
The second of the two books is called ‘While Stocks Last’, and buy the name I’m sure you came guess what it’s like. It’s full of bargain, usually products that are going to be discontinued and not featured in the Avon brochure anymore. This gives the Rep an opportunity to buy a few of these products for themselves or for customers who like the product a lot. The Rep can make money by selling the discounted products for full price to the customers.
I have ordered many things out of both books, most of them have been for myself though!! In the last order I was flicking through the ‘While Stocks Last’ book, and I noticed that there were bottles of ‘Still Waters’ perfume. I myself love the smell of this, and I have a few customers who I know like it too.
The perfume was only...

There's something very strange in the water!
Advantages: absorbing and easy to read
Disadvantages: none
...long conversations and I tended to lose track of who was speaking which meant that I had to reread some sections more than once. This is only a minor gripe though, and overall did not detract from my enjoyment.
The story gained momentum and pace as it neared the end and I was kept guessing right up to the end about certain outcomes. It was an interesting storyline and definitely maintained my interest throughout. However, I felt that many things remained unresolved at the end, but I suspect that this is because the book is part of a series. The rectory was nowhere near being fully restored and there were still many issues with Mark's daughter but these are likely to be picked up in her next novel. This is probably a clever ploy on the part of Judith Cutler, because it does make you want to find out what happens.
Overall, Still Waters...

Water way to go.
Advantages: See text.
Disadvantages: See text.
...This review is on Volvic, but theh particular item that I am going to be writing about is their four pack of one litre bottles. And so in essence, you are in fact getting four litres (or four for theprice of one...? No, OK). But anyway, this is a review on the afore-mentioned item(s) of water.
As already pointed out, this item came in a four pack of bottles of water each at one litre in content. Every one is a sports cap (meaning you have a teat-like device at the top which makes it easier to drink from rather than always having to faff about with opening its lid on the top should you be out running like me - yeah, right!).
The bottle isi your average shaped water bottle of its size, and is a clear plastic which for those of you who are also like me and environmentally aware it can in fact actually be recycled. There is a label...

water water everywhere and none for my dog to drink
Advantages: good in times of water shortage or out on a hot day
Disadvantages: tastes like tap water
...Highland Spring - that was all they had - for 89p for 1.5litre.
The first thing I was surprised to notice was that it had a sell by date on it. This is Jan. 2010.
I thought I might as well taste it to see if I could tell any difference. We have very hard water here and it is drinkable and never had a problem with it.
On tasting I thought that it did not taste any different from our tap water.
The day after the water was on again and back to normal I thought that I woiuld have a glass of both tap and bottle water to see if I still felt the same about it.
Definately no difference at all.
My dog? Oddly he went to the tap water but perhaps that was just because it was to his front right and he is right "handed". I dont know.
Highland Spring is naturally filtered through land certified as organic by the soil association...

Do you know where your tap water's been?
Advantages: A soft, neutral-tasting water at a reasonable cost.
Disadvantages: Not yet as widely available as it should be.
...of mineral water which had dried up during the Second World War and never returned. It was something else to blame on the Germans, although how they had done it was never explained. I was intrigued to know if the current supply came from the old well, but it doesn't. A new well was sunk at Harlow Hill on the outskirts of the town and there's a brand new bottling plant which cost £3million.
So, what's the water like? When you pour the perfectly clear, still water you'll see just a few bubbles. They go quickly, but there's a feeling of liveliness about the water. As for the taste, well, it's absolutely neutral. It tastes of nothing, which is what good water should taste of, but so rarely does. It's soft on the mouth and it cleanses the palate. It feels sweet on the tongue, which is down to the relatively low sodium content at 6.15mg...

Ohhh ummmm refeshing WATER
Advantages: Good for you
Disadvantages: Boring!
...find Volvic water in supermarkets and probably most corner shops and newsagents too. For a 1.5 litre bottle, it's around 59p. Volvic also offer flavoured water (perfect if you're not a fan of water but still want the benefits of the minerals) for slightly more at about 99p. The only flavour I know of, however, is lemon and lime. Volvic's prices are about the same as other brands like Evian. but I think Evian and Volvic are actually made by the same company! For Sainsbury's own mineral water, it is slightly cheaper at 49p. I think their water comes from the Scottish Highlands.
So come on, get drinking!...

Water Water everywhere.
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Tastes similar to tap water, funny that!
...I only have just recentely started drinking this.
Being pregnant, I have gone off tea, coffee and soft drinks give me heartburn, so I started drinking tap water as really the only available option left to me.
My partner thought that bottled water would be a better option, "less pollutants" he told me.
So off I trundled to Sainsburys and purchased a two litre bottle of Sainsburys Pennine still spring water.
At 39 pence, it comes in a clear plastic bottle,
With a label in the colours of blue and grey, depicting a mountain. As they all seem to do for some reason? Maybe it's the sign of it's natural source.
It is suggested that it tastes better cooled and be kept out of direct sunlight. Good thinking!
The mineral analysis is also noted on the label, giving typical values per litre.
Included in this are Calcium, Magnesium...

Water With Peaches And Raspberries, Whatever Next?
Advantages: Very Refreshing
Disadvantages: Expensive
...I am a big fan of Natural Water as I find that when it comes to quenching thirst it is second to none but I tend to not opt for bottled Mineral Water which can work out expensive. Instead I usually just keep a jug of Tap Water in my Fridge.
One thing that I have recently noticed are a variety of different fruit flavoured bottled Waters appearing on the shelves. It goes without saying that I have never had any remote inclination to sample any of these. However during a recent trip around the Food Hall in my local Marks and Spencers I purchased a Chicken Pasta which came free with a bottle of Still Water in the form of Peach and Raspberry flavour. On getting home I put this in the back of my Fridge where it remained forgotten about for the next fortnight.
As you've probably guessed by now the contents of bottle have now been consumed...

Watch This Water Take SHAPE!
Advantages: Water, Added Calcium and Magnesium
Disadvantages: Flavours mean additives
...My husband has a definite aversion to water. Unless it is beer flavour or soft drink flavoured he doesn't even want to know about it. However, we all know how important water is to the diet and I KNOW that my husband just doesn't get enough of it. Because of this I am always on the look out for water my husband will drink. I have tried several different flavoured waters over the last 3 years. But, time and time again, husband doesn't like the taste- too sweet, too chemically, too WET! AGGGHHHHHH!!! I was pulling my hair out!
So, the day I saw in my local ASDA the new Danone Shape Flavoured Still Spring Water, I had to give it a try. At first, I bought it for myself to try out but before I had a chance to taste it, hubby had gotten a hold of it (he thought it was fizzy pop) and took a deep swig. I must say, from that moment...
