...At 32 I am still finding that I am getting some spots and was determined to find a good treatment that will help clear them up. Having tried lots of over the counter creams which have only made my skin very dry, red and sore I had almost given up hope of finding anything that I could use without my skin ending up more sore and irritated than before. I then saw a TV advert for Freederm and thought "it's worth a try I've tried everything else available" so off I went to my local Boots and bought some. I was quite taken aback at the price (about £9), and was a bit sceptical whether it would be worth buying as I have tried so many other products and been majorly disappointed with them. green water treatment

Advantages: It really works

...We have a pond i our garden with about 1000 l water, and no matter what we did the water went green, we cleaned it, removed all the water, then cleaned it up, it was quit a work. We bought a lot of treatment, but it did'nt work, then we found this one " Hozelock" Green water treatment, we thought that this would be the last time, we tried, but it really works. It is harmless to all species of pondfish, filters and plants. It's liquid you just put it in the water, 1x 10 ml measure for every 454lt. we simply followed the instructions and today we can see all of our fish, and don't have to clean it up every week. I'm just glad we found something who really works. I can't remenber the cost of it, but it's worth it. We bought it in Homebase....

...Clearasil Ultra Deep Pore Treatment Pads are designed to "fight spots and reduce redness to give you visibly clearer skin in just 3 days". The product is clearly marketed at teenagers with problem skin - the adverts on TV for Clearasil products usually feature a teenager getting ready for a party, realising that they have a spot, getting despondent that the spot will ruin the party, being advised to use Clearasil and applying it. By the end of the advert the viewer sees the spot fearing teenager at the party surrounded by attractive people of the opposite sex - which we know would not have happened it they still had that awful spot! I usually lack sympathy for the teenagers featured in these adverts - they're teenagers and therefore are meant to have spots. However, it's a different story when you reach the grand old age of 26...

UPDATED August 2001 It was nice to read that this Labour government is conducting an inquiry into the Camelford water poisoning disaster in the early 1980s. You may remember that tons of aluminium sulphate were poured into drinking water at a water treatment plant. Drinking this water caused hair to turn green, nausea, fingernails to fall off, cause Alzheimer’s disease etc. There was an inquiry into this water-poisoning episode by the then Conservative government. The inquiry found nothing unusual. This was obviously a whitewash and showed the arrogance of a government holding a large majority of MPs in the House of Commons. I feel sorry for the residents of Camelford who have suffered badly though no fault of their own and have received no compensation...

I had a friend that used the TIGI Catwalk Oatmeal and Honey Treatment Shampoo just because she liked the smell, but I had to borrow some oneday and I instently fell in love. It made my hair feel silky smooth and enormously hydrated, and the smell....oh my gosh...everytime I played with my hair or just moved my head aroud I got this wonderful smell, almost like a oatmeal cookie, mmmm. TIGI Catwalk Oatmeal and Honey Treatment Shampoo is, in my opinion, one of the most awsome shampoos out there. It works great on chemically treated or just plain 'ol damaged hair. Water, Water, Everywhere

Advantages: Psychologically scary, strong performances from key cast members.
Disadvantages: Too many characters are introduced, the ending is a little silly.

...Walter Salles 2005 film 'Dark Water' is dark and mysterious, a truly chilling remake of Hideo Nakata's Japanese horror film which was originally released in 2002. It's an interesting concept that Walter Salles should take on a film of this sort, he'd previously had success with the film 'The Motorcycle Diaries' but 'Dark Water' is really something far different than this. What's more is that this is a major American remake and yet Walter Salles himself is Brazilian. Although this was not a predictable film for Walter Salles to have taken on, what I will say is that he has done an excellent job here and successfully directed a brilliant horror film. In the 2000s there has been quite a trend for remaking popular Japanese horror films. 'The Ring' films were remade, as too was the 'Ju-on' series, it's only right then that 'Dark Water...
