Waterproof, but perhaps too waterproof!

Advantages: waterproof, easy to apply, no clumps, long lasting, nice effect, good quality, gentle on my eyes
Disadvantages: hard to remove, the non-waterproof version allows you to achieve more dramatic effects, expensive

...Like most women, I am on what appears to be a life-long quest to find the perfect mascara! When a friend recommended the Boots No.7 extreme length mascara I brought one. I really liked it and infact liked it so much that it eventually ran out (and that?s good for me as normally I get bored before it runs out!). A couple of days before my Nan?s funeral I realised that I did not own a waterproof mascara. Knowing that I would need one, I headed off to Boots to find something appropriate. Review of Boots No.7 Extreme Length Waterproof Mascara

Excellent waterproof mascara

Advantages: definitely waterproof, natural looking, non clumpy
Disadvantages: dramatic look not achieved, lancome products expensive

...I am a big fan of Lancome products on the whole and it is true to say you get what you pay for. LOOK: This mascara is excellent, two coats will get you beautifully seperated lashes that look natural and not over the top. If you are aftera more dramatic evening look, its probably not the best choice. Good day time choice! WATERPROOF: I tend to do A LOT of swimming. Completely stood the test and didnt smudge. I also went to the most beautiful wedding, cried alot and still didnt budge. Brilliant! the problem is trying to remove it....after a several hard rubs it finally comes off so probably not the best for sensitive eyes! CONCLUSION Would recommend this for a holiday/wedding etc, stays put, give you natural looking lashes, nothing overly dramatic however, you would probably need another brand for this....

Maybelline Great Wear Waterproof Eyeliner

Advantages: Creamy texture, long-lasting, wide range of colours
Disadvantages: Pricey for an eyeliner, bulky packaging, isn't really waterproof

...I had run out of my usual Boots 17 Perfect Definition eyeliner, and being a creature of habit, thought I would try a new one, as I wasn't entirely happy with my 17 one, and the only redeeming feature was the price! This one looked fairly good - it claims to be waterproof and virtually budge-proof. It cost £3.99 which is more than I'd usually pay for an eyeliner but nonetheless, it looked very promising! There are a wide range of colours, and I choose Cinnabar, a dark brown. Maybelline Great Wear Waterproof Eyeliner comes in a twist-up pencil format, which it doesn't state on the label and neither can you tell from the packaging, but it does make things a lot easier and there's no need for eyeliner sharpeners, which might save you a few pounds. It is rather bulky and long though, and there seems to be a lot of unneccesary...

Rimmel Volume Flash Waterproof Mascara

Advantages: Cheap, comes out black
Disadvantages: Smudges, impossible to get off, needs a few coats

...I've been using Boots No7 waterproof volume mascara for ages, but last week I thought I would try something new. I've been pleased with Rimmel make-up before but had never tried one of the mascaras. It was only £4.90 from Superdrug, which was a lot cheaper than the £9 I'd been paying for No7. I always go for volume mascaras to open up my eyes in the morning when I'm still half asleep! And always waterproof ones which is why I went for this particular one. Packaging It comes in a blue bottle, with a modern shape, with Rimmel Volume flash written across it in silver lettering. The bottle is quite a good size and overall it looks good. 100% Waterproof but rubbish

...Reading other opinions on this product, Ciao members all agreed that this supposedly waterproof mascara, was simply not waterproof. Anyway, those reviews were written a few years ago and my experience is that this mascara is extremely waterproof! Rimmel must have changed the formula or something, but this mascara simply does not budge when you are crying! You might think that this is a good thing, but I don't agree. Although this is waterproof, this mascara smudges and has a very dry consistency, which makes it difficult to apply. It is flakey and instead of having a rich glossy consistency, the colour of the mascara is dull and doesn't make your eyes glisten. Review of Rimmel 100% Waterproof Mascara

100% Waterproof it is!

Advantages: Waterproof as it claims
Disadvantages: Doesn't allow lashes to be as 'full'

...What can I say? Another wonderful mascara by Rimmel! Definitely 100% waterproof as it claims, so you're in no worry of a mascara run! But at the same time it is easy to remove with face wipes when you're done. The brush reminds me very much of BeneFit's 'Bad Gal Lash' - big and bulky, therefore easy to apply, but it's a much cheaper product than 'Bad Gal Lash'! The mascara is one of those that lasts a long time and doesn't dry up for much longer than it says on the product - so is useable for a bit longer if you're running low on cash. The only downside is that it doesn't let my eyelashes get as 'full' as other mascaras - which may or may not happen to yourself but is a possibility it may happen. Even so, I still find it a good mascara! Therefore I recommend it to others....

Review of Rimmel 100% Waterproof Mascara

Frank Thomas Waterproof Gloves

Advantages: They are quite warm and will stand up to a shower
Disadvantages: Not waterproof enough and to much padding on your palms to make controling a bike easy

...I ride my bike in almost all weathers, I try to avoid snow and heavy rain but if I rode it to work I have to ride it home! I have a pair of Frank Thomas waterproof Gloves, they have all the usual labels, Thinsulate, Gore-Tex and such like. You would have thought that all these trade names would mean something as you would with the very popular Frank Thomas brand of products. I rode around during the winter and the Thinsulate layer did help keep my hands pretty warm but I was not 100% impressed and ended up buying some thermal glove liners which make the gloves a little tight but they soon slacken. One of my biggest puzzles is why on earth do you need thermal lining on the palm of your hand? The problem I get with cold hands is mostly to do with riding a bike (within the speed limit of course) in the winter, the wind blast really...

It's full of lots of lovely products but not everything you would find in the normal Body shops. things were not as nicely presented as the normal shops, mainly just stacked on big shelves and on pallets on the foor and in big tubs...you get the idea right? Well after adding quite a few items to my basket I made my way through the crowds to the make up section where they had a choice of make up and make up brushes. I spotted the mascaras and noticed they were only £1.00 - and me liking bargins I couldn't resist that!! lol I picked up the waterproof mascara in black. I also noticed that they done brown too. The tube is the dark green body shop colour with gold writing on. It is a 8ml tube. It has the body shop logo on it and says 'colourings' The body shop. All very simple. wonderfully waterproof

...I remember going shopping with my Nan in the local town getting bored of waitin for a perscription and noseying off to the shop next door. Browsing through all the make up stands i noticed a bright pink, yellow and blue one over in the corner of Boots. Swiftly walking over to the brightly displayed stand i noticed the banner running inbetween the sections of shelving stating all Miss Sporty products were under 3 pound!! I instantly thought bargain. I think i only had about a tenner on me and managed to by some foundation, a concealer stick, some pressed powder and this fabulous lash waterproof mascara - the product certainly lives up to its name. I think this product was bought for 2.99 just before my holidays - i look a right mess without my make-up so i like to keep my vaseline and mascara handy. I have never really trusted...

Fab Waterproof Lashes for £2.99 - not for kids!

...So I'm ambling my way along the make-up wall in Boots when I double take? what I think says Miss Spotty (why would anyone but that?) actually says Miss Sporty. But on closer inspection everything on the stand costs around £2. Firstly I'm suspicious then I think well its cheap I'll give it a whirl. I decide to splash out on Fabulous Lash Waterproof Mascara? only £2.99 (7ml). It's pink and blue and big black letters make it look rather like kids make-up. The price certainly says Miss Sporty is aiming at those with pocket money rather than student debt like myself but if all else fails it was 3 measly pound for goodness sake. I didn't even wait till I got home to whack some on. In a changing room trying clothes on I whip it out and very surprised to find that it opens easily and doesn't look clumpy at all.
