I have tried the other Dax products, and the red variety is definitely the best for my hair. I use it after I have towel dried my hair thoroughly, rub a small amount onto my fingers and then work it through. It's quite solid wax, but it still allows you to shape it once it's in your hair. Rubbing it through your fingers first softens it up a little and means its easier to work with. As others have mentioned, the hold is tremendous, especially if you use tiny additional amounts on top of your original application to shape specific parts of your hair. Dax Wax leaves Trax!

...My first memory of Dax Wax - I had been with my partner for less than a month when I began to notice trails of stickiness on my pillows...greasy marks on my towel's and every surface around by room seemed to have a sweaty wet feel to it... No...it was all innocent - this is the trail that Dax wax leaves in it's wake! I had actually purchased this for my partner as it was cheap in a shop called QLM, only £1.69 for a full sized metal tub. As he's obsessed with his hair I thought I would treat him. He began using it almost immediately and found that it was surprisingly effective. As he had fairly long hair, most products were not much use, but Dax wax keeps its hold for much longer than most. In fact, it held his hair high all day long and soon became a firm favourite. I personally wasn't so keen on his using it as it left his hair...

...I have tried using many different types of wax and creams for my hair. Such as Shock waves, fructis amongst others. The only wax that I have found to keep my hair in place and lock out moisture. It is essential that the product is used on short hair as it gives you a shiny waxy look; this would not be suitable for long hair, smooth styles or that dry look that you might get with a putty. This product is only meant to be used on dry hair. I think that it is best to but on hair that has just been dried of you leave your hair to cool, it hurts a little to place the wax in your hair (don't forget pain in beauty) This tin contains 3.5 oz or 99gm of wax. It comes in a round tin, which the lid is a little hard to get off. The packaging is a little dated but simple. I feel that the packaging does not reflect the contents...

...Dark Castle Entertainment was set-up to produce some great horror genre pictures based on horror from the fifties. The men behind such as visionary company are Joel (The Matrix/Lethal Weapon) Silver and Robert (Back To The Future/Roger Rabbit) Zemeckis. Now between them they've produced or directed some good movies. So why is it that all the films they've produced so far under this banner have pretty much sucked or been incredibly under-whelming? After such MTV-inspired dreck such as 13 Ghosts and Gothika we now get House of Wax. On the DVD the producers come up with the line that it's based on the incredibly fun Vincent Price film of the same name. As a student I didn't have the money to splash out on 10 pound styling products that are going to last me a week so when I found Dax Wax it was a total life saver (a bit more cash to go to the night out funds!). Wax Away!

Advantages: you can wax area's yourself

...I always wax, I've tried many different brands and salons and I must say it's been a very painfull experiance on the way! With Veet Wax strips, I picked a box up at our local ASDA for £4.50, which is good value for money seeing as there are 20 strips in a box. When I got home, I was at the horrible letting hair grow stage and couldn't wait to get rid of it. after reading the instructions carefully to make sure they were used the same as all waxing strips, I slid the strip down my leg and holding the skin tight with my one hand, the other I pulled back the strip... OUCH... Pain o'rama! and to make matters worse, hardly any hair had come off! I wasn't impressed, tried a couple more of the strips and had the same incident happen, so gave up. I ended up throwing away the box, phoning my local beauty salon and booked a waxing...

Effective easy to use wax strips

...I find these ready to use wax strips the best on the market. I have tried several and these are definitely the best for me. I tend to use the one for sensitive skin, even though I don't have sensitive skin, just because I think it will hurt less! It does hurt a little when I wax but every time I do it, it gets easier. I must be de-sensitising! The strips contain vitamin E and Almon oil to moisturise your skin and I have never once known my skin to dry out after using them so I guess these ingredients do their job. There are 20 strips in a packet and 4 finishing wipes that are very oily but remove any waxy gubbins that are left on your skin. My favourite thing about these is the fact that you can use them on short hair so you don't have to turn into a gorilla before you can wax. On the downside, I find they always leave...
