(+) Easy to use, inexpensive, very useful, great for emergencies (-) Better battery life would be welcome, as would improved range in hilly environments (*) (On Ciao since: 03/2008)

Advantages: Great plot and good pace to the book Disadvantages: predictable
...without feeling in the middle of something and not being able to leave the book.
For me the book's ending was quite obvious and as such 50 pages from the end I felt I knew what would happen, as I think all Reacher novels finish the same way. I did have to read it though to confirm this was the case. As you can guess your star is going to solve the case and not get killed but kill or bring to justice all the bad guys. I suppose that is obvious.
A feature I liked was at the end of the book there was a kind of short epilogue, even if it wasn't called that, which allowed you to see what had happened to all the books main characters. I would have liked a little more depth to this however.
A further good touch was at the end of the book. There is a half page slot on each of Lee Child's other books with a brief description of what the book is about. I...
Advantages: Voice, music, recording Disadvantages: A couple of weaker links
......Introduction...
Following on from my review of Tool's 10,000 days I have decided to review something a little different and it's fair to say there won't be too many people who will like both Tool and Usher as a search on facebook for people who like both artists comes up a blank. Anyway Usher's album My Way was his second album and was released in 1997 it was the album that made him into a star selling over 8 million copies worldwide before he hit the superstar heights with 8701 and Confessions a few years later.

1.) You make me wanna
This was the lead single from the album and is an infectious tale of wanting to leave someone for the person who set you up with your current partner. A tough subject done well with a great beat. I remember dancing to this at school discos.
2.) Just Like Me

Advantages: Looks nice, bit of a novelly Disadvantages: Food really rather disappointing
...When I go to Antwerp I always enjoy trying out the local restaurants. Belgians (with the exception of the suicidal taxi driver I just met who didn't seem to have a positive bone in his body) tend to have a great attitude to food and drink. Any nation that can dedicate so much effort to the triple delights of chocolate, beer and chips has to be worthy of our admiration. However, since my friends who lived there moved back to the UK, I don't get so many chances to eat out when I visit and I was really pleased when our recent business meeting agenda arrived with 'Dinner' (or rather 'Diner' ? the host was French) written on the bottom. Surely I must be in for a bit of a treat.

Advantages: A good premise Disadvantages: The rest is terrible!
..., instead implicating her lover. The only thing left is to find out who Susan was having an affair with and place him firmly in the frame for murder?
I was looking forward to seeing this film, it has a stellar cast and an intriguing premise, both of which I thought would lead to an excellent thriller, unfortunately it didn?t turn out to be that. This film is widely thought of as a classic film and one of Costner?s best; agreed, Kevin Costner has made some stinkers but he?s also made some really good films and to say this is one of his best is a little insulting.
Thrillers, for me, can either reach one extreme or the other, they can either be fantastic or dire and unfortunately No Way Out fits into the latter category, in this case nothing seems to go right in the films format. It?s 114 minutes long and unfortunately 60 odd minutes of this...

Review of No Way Out (DVD)
Advantages: Quite cheap, tastes ok Disadvantages: Not the best of the cheap bars, not enough chocolate
...I hadn't had a Milky Way bar in years, but I recently bought one as a snack, while out shopping. I remember liking them as a kid, but to be honest I was a bit disappointed. Milky Way bars are small chocolate bars made by Mars (not Nestle as shown in the description).
Taste
The Milky Way is a chocolate coated bar with whipped centre, they don't actually say what it is, but its actually nougat. It is like the soft part of a Mars bar, but lighter and slightly less flavoured, making the nougat light enough to float in water (I don't know why this is important, but they mentioned it on an advert once). I know a couple of people who strongly dislike Milky Ways - mainly due to the texture. So, I don't recommend buying a multipack if you have never tried one before. The fluffy centre is quite nice in my opinion, but becomes sickly...

Review of Mars Milky Way Bar
Advantages: great action scenes, reasonable characters Disadvantages: pulpy
...Somebody once said that there are only two plot lines in classic fantasy: an unexpected simpleton (child, beggar, heathen, girl, commoner) saving the world (e.g. Frodo) and a king threatened by the usurper (e.g. Arthur). This is, of course, a major simplification, but still, many, many fantasy novels follow one of those plotlines. The Way of Shadows seems to be an example of the first one.
Azoth is a guild rat, grown up in the slums, poverty and fear, beatings and abuse his daily reality. When, in a sudden flash of justified anger he crosses the Fist of his guild, he has to make some hard decisions, quickly. His life is at stake, and the only way out he sees is apprenticing himself to Durzo Blint: the best assassin in the city. Azoth changes his identity to Kylar Stern and has to leave his old life in the slums of the Warrens to face...
Advantages: A decent look at Samurai life Disadvantages: A weak ending
...I've always loved Japan and the Japanese, as the structure in their society and the respect they have for each other has always appealed to me. Unfortunately, I have never been able to master any of the martial arts, but I find reading about the society and their artists is a fair compromise, as I get to enjoy the excitement of being a great warrior, without needing to go through any of the hard work to actually become one.
Jack Fletcher doesn't have this option, as after ninja pirates on the coast of Japan attack his ship and his father killed, a samurai rescues him. His rescuer soon adopts him and Jack sets about learning the Japanese language and their customs, traditions and way of life. In time, Masamoto takes him to his training school, where Jack learns more about what it means to be a samurai, both in terms of fighting and in...
Advantages: Creamy, light, delicious chocolate, cheap Disadvantages: They are quick small, so being the pig that I am, I always want another!
...If you want a light, delicious, chocolately snack, then I recommend putting this chocolate 'bar' to the top of your list.
Designed in a blue and white wrapper, with the legenday 'Milky Way' logo, you can find this confectionary in newsagents and supermarkets, although they definitely aren't are widely distributed as a few years ago. I generally find these are easily found in small, independent newsagents rather than your big Tescos and Asda superstores (I have no idea why, anyone care to enlighten me?).
About five years ago they used to cost a mere 20p! Unfortunately, as things do, the prices went up, and now you can pick them up for about 36p. This is still a lot cheaper than most chocolate bars however.
So what do they consist of? In each wrapper you'll find two rolls of chocolate. Inside these rolls is a layer of wafer, then deeper...
Advantages: Great story, Interesting characters and tense atmosphere Disadvantages: Abit short , some may find it quite fast paced
...~ Two-Way Spilt ~
Two-Way Spilt is another one of my bargain books I brought a couple of years back in Waterstones for a pound. I didn?t really think it was going to be that great regarding the price of it. I hadn?t heard of the author Allan Guthrie before and this is because he is a new writer.
I finally got chance to sit down other the last few days and read the novel which didn?t take me long as it is quite a short book and is also one of my favourite genres so I was pretty interested in it straight away. I will be looking out for his other books as I was not disappointed and was lucky to find this in the bargain bin after seeing the RRP price of £6.99.
AUTHOR
Allan Guthrie lives in Edinburgh and Two-Way Spilt is actually his first published novel. Since then he has written many other thriller action novels...
Advantages: Funny, engaging, easy to read chick lit Disadvantages: Some graphic scenes and swearing
...I'm trying to resist buying any new novels at the minute but I keep reading so many tempting and intriguing book reviews! I've started keeping a list in my bag and trawling through the library shelves with my wish-list. '50 Ways to Find a Lover' was one that I'd noted down because it had sounded like a fairly easy-going, easy to read chick lit novel and it certainly lived up to my expectations in that respect.
The story centres around Sarah Sargent who hasn't been in a relationship for three years and nine months (to be precise!). After being rejected by a baldy with a paunch down her local pub, Sarah is ready to give up on the idea of ever having a relationship again but her family and friends have other ideas! Reluctantly, Sarah is persuaded to start a quest for a new man, with an online blog being the focal point of her strategy...
