By the way... it was great!
Advantages: Cool tunes and a Great Band
Disadvantages: None
...I was just scanning through the Red Hot Chili Peppers part of Ciao before and discovered to my amazement that nobody had reviewed a gig from the ?By The Way World Tour!? I know that this tour ended last year but it was such a good gig, that I feel obliged to, even now, review it.
So, I?ve been a fan of the Chili?s for about 5 or 6 years, probably since Californication came out. I absolutely adore Californication and so when By The Way came out, I will admit that I was sad enough to be in a shop at 8.30am buying the album! Instantaneously, I loved this album (almost as much as Californication) and knew straight away that it would be worth keeping an eye out for the up and coming tour. Then, a while later the ticket details were announced, I got them on pre-sale via the fan club and bought my ticket for £25 to see the Chilis...

Way It Is, John Williamson
Advantages: Fantastic songs wonderful singing
Disadvantages: None
...A mate of mine who is a radio presenter first introduced me to the music of John Williamson. At first, his CDs were only available through Reddington's Rare Records in Birmingham as special imports.
But as the influence of the radio programme they were played on spread (the Ed Doolan Show on BBC Radio WM) John Williamson began doing tours of the Midlands and them of the UK and his CDs became more widely available.
"The Way It Is" is a wonderful introduction to the works of John Williamson who is, in my opinion, probably the best poet musician singer and humorist that Australia has produced in many years. Think of an Australian Max Boyce and you are probably part way to understanding the vibrant and lively appeal of John Williamson.
The first song on the CD is Campfire on the Road. Is a wonderful love song with multiple...

It Wasn't Me!!!
Advantages: Teaches children to own up for their mistakes
Disadvantages: None
...***Background***
It's a while since my son had read the lovely Christmas story called Just For You Blue Kangaroo, and he was delighted to see this other book in the series by Emma Chichester Clark. This author doesn't just write this series of books but illustrates them too and there are quite a few books in this series for you to choose from.
***The Story***
The story starts,
"Blue Kangaroo belonged to Lily.
He was her very own kangaroo.
Sometimes, when Lily was very naughty she would say, 'It was you, Blue Kangaroo?'
And Blue Kangaroo would look at Lily, but say nothing."
The story then tells of how Lily decides to give her dolls a bath in the sink but ends up leaving the tap running and she ends up blaming Blue Kangaroo. The next day she tries to dress the cat in some old baby clothes but the cat panics and pulls...

It's What You Expect From Nas.
Advantages: Great Lyrics.
Disadvantages: Some Tracks Let It Down.
...neighborhood it is actually a diss track aimed to Hip-Hop icon The Notorious B.I.G.
- Street Dreams: 4/5
This is another great track off the album and is Nas' own version of 'Sweet Dreams' which was a Eurythmics song. A song that deals with drug dealing and it's consequences in actuality leaves your more attracted to the instrumental rather than the lyrics which are once again top draw.
- I Gave You The Power: 3.5/5
There's something about this song that makes it seem unfinished. Lyrically though it tells a great story which saves the lack of harmony between his flow and the instrumental.
- Watch Dem Niggas: 3/5
Is it me or are the ratings slowly starting to go down? this isn't one of my favourites and is another that seemed 'unfinished'.
- Take It In Blood: 3.5/5
Even though the feel of the two previous tracks continues on this one...

That's Just The Way It Is
Advantages: Timeless
Disadvantages: Hard To Find
...I was going through my Dads cd's when i was skiving off school one day a year or so back... I came across Bruce Hornsby and the Range and i had already downloaded one of his songs... "The Way It Is" and it's simply a master piece before Tupac got his hands on it... now it's just regarded as a remix of this hip hop rubbish that this rapper did...
Anyways back the the album which is the title as the main song... everyone will have heard the song "The Way It Is" because it's always on the radio but the other songs are just as equally brilliant in my opinion.
Anyways here's a look at the tracks and the rating
1) On The Western Skyline (7/10)
A love song about a single man knowing his special girl is out there somewhere "On the western skyline" A great tune and a good start to the album
2) Every Little Kiss (9/10)
Another...

This True-man's Loyalty Bowled Me Over.
Advantages: Enlightening, a must for cricket fans and human interest readers.
Disadvantages: Long chapters.
...of English cricket.
The deciding of the title of his autobiography, along with a friend, gives an insight into his wit and sense of humour, something which is evident in abundance throughout the book. Having said that he didn't want a silly title such as Dickie Bird's 'My Autobiography', Fred's comment being "What sort of title is that? It's an autobiography, what else could it be?" Or Victoria Beckham's, called 'Learning to Fly', his comment being "Sounds like a training manual, I bet that confused a few would be terrorists". Fred's own choice was suggested 'tongue in cheek' as, 'The Best Bloody English Fast Bowler That Ever Drew Breath.'
After the brief opening aforementioned 'brush' with 'the establishment', his story then begins with his birth in 1931, in the small mining village of Stainton, in God's own county of Yorkshire. His...

THIS WAS IT
Advantages: full of fast angular indie-rock that satisfies consistently
Disadvantages: one weak song, production is a bit weedy
...simplistic guitar lines. It sounds both lazy and unwilling, but exciting and fresh at the same time.
2.THE MODERN AGE
The first single from the album is awesome.Cutting guitar lines, passionate vocals and a great pop melody
3.SOMA
Could be a Lou Reed classic. It's choppy and disjointed, starting and then stopping, but always brilliant.
4.BARELY LEGAL
Good track but this highlights one problem with the album, which is the production. The whole thing sounds like it was recorded underwater or they completed it and then scratched the tapes.
5.SOMEDAY
A truly uplifiting song, with a summery feel.
6.ALONE,TOGETHER
My favourite song on the album.Dark and moody.
7.LAST NITE
Could be a Blondie song.Shout-along chorus and a bouncey melody to jump around to.
8.HARD TO EXPLAIN
stop-start,fast-slow,it sounds disjointed but in good way...

"How You Like Me Now? I Go Blaaaooow!!"
Advantages: Consistant quality
Disadvantages: Mobb Deep
...people from all around showing love to the rapper, this one has Cali's Dr. Dre display his respect for Nas by lending some production to him for this track, even at the height of the East Coast-West Coast feud.
Dre switches everything with his funky style, which forces Nas to alter his ways slightly to adapt to the toned-down G-Funk beat. I have to say that Nas sounded comfortable with his change, and it brought out great results, only to be rivaled by their next collaboration together on "Hip Hop Is Dead", with the track "Hustlers".
**Five Stars**
8. Affirmative Action (feat. The Firm)
This track features the memebers of the short-lived rap gruoup composing of Nas Escobar, Foxy Brown, AZ and Nature (who was replaced by Cormega for this track). The Firm went on the mafioso route, as Nas took on the surname Escobar creating a new...

So - who was it then???
Advantages: lovely story and illustrations
Disadvantages: none
...- 'Don't Touch it!'
I'm sure that for anyone who has more than one child the above scenario is probably quite familiar especially when your younger child always seems to mess up the older one's things! That's definitely the case in our house and it's neither of their faults - it's just the stages they are at! This is what I like about all of the Charlie and Lola stories though - they are so real! You recognise so much of what happens in the stories! In this story there is a lot you can talk about with young children such as how they should try to respect one another's things and if they do damage something than the best policy is to own up straight away. They can see how Lola makes things much worse for herself by not admitting to what she has done straight away.
I also really like the way all of these stories are written. Every book (and...

Shake it Baby
Advantages: Thick and Frothy
Disadvantages: Takes a while for the lumps to disolve
...On a mission to find a new product in Waitrose, I came across this - Milky Way Shake It!
The starter pack consists of a blue beaker with lid and has two sachets of power inside, one strawberry and one chocolate.
I had to give it a go.
The product comes with the famous Milky Way logo right across the middle (so you can`t miss it).
The beaker comes covered with a disposible plastic cover giving instructions. Don`t be too worried if you loose this at some point, it is not rocket science to work it out for yourself.
This procuct can be used in two ways.
1) To make a milk shake.
2) To make a mousse dessert.
Fantastic.
Easy instructions are displayed on the inner Shake wrapper.
For the shake you fill with milk to the 250ml indicator, pop on the lid (make sure it is on properly, or you will get covered). And shake...
