Cannes and Nice France
Advantages: Good place for children, friendly, watch out for the hot summer months,
Disadvantages: Hotels get full fast so book ahead
...Cannes
Cannes is known as one of the most stimulating Places in the world:
With breathtaking sea views and many attractions that would print that romantic memory, Cannes will also spoil you with the high street shopping and the endless bars and restaurants that line the streets will never see you without a good meal, and that is without mentioning the beautiful sandy beaches along the coastline where you can relax and enjoy the french sun, you will also find sellers selling there souvenirs along the sidewalks and for a small fee you can rent chaise lounge and umbrellas to drink and take a nice relax in the shade.

Glamorous Cannes
Advantages: Gorgeous, Glamorus, nice weather, beautiful beach
Disadvantages: expensive
...Cannes, best known for its prestigious film festival is a glamorous and exquisite town in French Riviera. It has beautiful sandy beaches along the deep blue Mediterranean and the town harbor is packed with exquisite and expensive boats and yachts. The town is small but pretty with wide promenade bordered with plum and olive trees along the beach and red tiled French-Italian Mediterranean style mansions.
The most visited place here is of course the film auditorium, just yards from the main beach. Each year it hosts one of the most prestigious world film festival and is visited by Hollywood's who's-who! The main court yard in front of the auditorium has hand impressions of renounced film stars and celebrities like Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, and Steven Spilberg. During the film festival each year, this small...

No Cannes Do
Advantages: Great place for people watching
Disadvantages: a tacky novelty that wore off quickly
...This summer I was lucky enough to spend a good bit of time touring the South Of France. It was a voyage of discovery and wonderment and I am going to share with you my experiences of Cannes. If you want historical facts about the place, or a list of hotels...you will not find it here.... but enjoy nonetheless.
Funzo's Fantastical French Follying Adventures (the catchy name I gave my trip) had to take in Cannes. Driving along the south coast after a dissapointed day in the overcrowded, far too English resort of Nice, Cannes seemed an ideal box to tick and the 40ft Motorhome trundled laboriously along the picturesque if not scary coastal road that can take you from Monaco to Marseille with the sea never leaving your eyeline.
The traffc to and from Cannes was about as busy as we had seen over the few weeks and the glaring neon...

bbc.co.uk/weather
Advantages: Very informative site from the Beeb
Disadvantages: None
...The BBC?s weather site?now there?s an interesting thing to review?? Surely it?s just a page with an up-to-date weather map on it?and perhaps an outlook for the next few days? Well, yes you?d be right. But it does have more to it than that?
The light blue homepage does show a satellite image of the British Isles, with various cities pinpointed on the map to help with those who don?t know where London is?oh dear?but obviously they?re just for reference points. As I type, there seems to be an awful lot of rain heading our way. Those in Ireland are currently getting soaked! There is a slider along the bottom of the map which you can manually move to see what will happen to the weather over the course of the next few days. It could be a wet one looking at this!
You can change the map to a temperature map, but at this time of year...

Reading about the weather
Advantages: A super book for v young children
Disadvantages: none
...What's the weather postman Pat?
Another book I bought from the charity shop for my grandchildren, it was 50p the R R P is not on the book but I gues ots between £3 and £6
This book was first published in 2000.
Everyone must know postman pat the first viewing of the animated television series was shown on the BBC in 1981. Postman Pat has been popular ever since.'
The book Postman Pat what's the weather like is a board book suitable for a toddler.
We all talk about the weather and postman Pat is no exception.
We open the book and Postman pat is asked what's the weather like, a tree has fallen over, his hat has blown off so Postman pat decides it is windy. The next page asks tom and Katy what the weather is like. They tell us some of the things they have done and say so it must be snowing. Next we ask Jess what the weather...

The weather man
Advantages: loads of funny parts that will have you laughing for ages afterwards
Disadvantages: story line sounds better than it is and film gets a bit silly in places
...The weather man is a great comedy from the director of Pirates of the Caribbean (Gore Verbinski). Rated a 15+ due to strong language, sex and sexual references. One disk containing the film and special features. The film is approximately 97 minutes long. I found this film for only three pound in the bargain bin at blockbusters but have seen it priced at around the same price on eBay and Amazon.
The cast then:
Nicolas cage -staring in such films as the rock, con air, gone in 60 seconds, face off and many more. He play's the man character David Spritzel shortened to Dave Spritz for hes weather show on TV.
Michael Caine - staring in films such as The Italian job (original), Austin power gold member, the dark night (batman) and many more. He plays Robert Spritzel a famous writer who becomes ill during the film.

I Don't Care What the Weather Man Says
Advantages: A couple of decent performances
Disadvantages: A frosty film that fails to entertain
...Chicago weather man Dave Spritz makes $240,000 a year for two hours work a day. So he should be on top of the world. Except he's still in love with his ex-wife (who hates him) and is estranged from his secretive son and obese daughter. He also thinks he's a disappointment to his dying father, a world-class novelist. And as if that wasn't bad enough, members of the public have taken to pelting him with fast food and drinks. But with the chance of a new job in New York, Dave might actually be able to turn his life around.
Director Gore Verbinski is still a bit of an unknown quantity, having directed such disparate films as "Mouse Hunt", "The Ring" and "Pirates of the Caribbean". He skips happily from genre to genre, providing quality entertainment. But he may have met his match in "The Weather Man". It is ostensibly a comedy but plays...

Cannes on a budget - yes, you can do it
Advantages: Glamorous, no mosquitos, cultural, beautiful, an experience
Disadvantages: Full of silly little poodles & their equally silly owners - can be expensive if you don't watch the prices
...Beleive it or not, it is possible to have a week in Cannes & spend no more than you would anywhere else in the Med! I was in Cannes years ago & did find it terribly expensive (but we were young, on the prowl & in search of nothing but drink & men... but not necessarily in that order).
This time however, we were on a different mission - a secret trip to the Monaco Grand Prix - tickets were a surprise 30th birthday present for my loved one - and boy was he surprised! The GP is great but it was only a small reason why we chose Cannes.
We had lovely accommodation - the Resideal Cannes right behind the Carlton & the Noga Hilton on the Croisette. It had a lovely pool, was 30 seconds from the Croisette & Rue d'Antibes & was gorgeous. The bar however, was a total rip off! We went to the supermarket in search of cheap & we certainly...

Out in all weathers.
Advantages: Protects face against weather.
Disadvantages: Expensive, thick.
...I am a user of Clinique products, both make up and skin care. I tend to look for bargains on line and if there is a Clinique item quite cheap, I will buy it (that is, is I think it will be of use). As a keen horse rider and owner, I literally am out in all weathers. It is very much an outdoor pursuit, both riding and horse care, so I was very interested when I first saw Clinique`s Weather Everything cream. As it was on ebay and cheap, I thought I would try it.
* * * * * * *
Clinique products are all allergy tested and 100% fragrance free, that is, except the fragrances of course (though I think they are still allergy tested). Having had sensitive skin in the past, this is always something that I take into account when selecting a new facial cream. I had not...

Best HOTEL in Cannes - Carlton Intercontinental
Advantages: This is one amazing hotel with everything you want in one of the greatest cities of France
Disadvantages: pretty much non-affordable for normal folks
...In september 2000 I was invited to the presentation of OPEL´s new car called Corsa. I was surprised that they did this presentation not in germany, but in Cannes, France. Furthermore I was really happy to see which hotel OPEL booked for the 3 day stay of their exclusive customers: The world famous Carlton Intercontinental Hotel at Cannes...
Famous, some of you might ask and I say yes, famous it is. Most of you know that european film festival every year at Cannes. That hotel there is that historic building in which all the major actors, directors and plenty of wannabe´s are staying.
The building itself is under a historic building law in france and so to uphold business in there the owners have to spent lots of money quite frequently to rebuild the beautiful historic outside of the hotel.
It has 7 floors and on ground level...
