Ford Focus 2.0 ESP

Advantages: Great driving, reliable car
Disadvantages: Ford service department

...I bought my Ford Focus in June 2006, second hand from Ford with 38,000 miles on the clock. The model I own is a 2.0 ESP facelift, with the revised headlights which include the indicator, revised bumpers with bump strips & revised metal flush skirts. Now, in August 2007 the car is on the brink of hitting 70,000 miles and it literally hasn't missed a beat. The only parts that I have had to replace that are none wear and tear are the thermorstat housing seal (Ford however will try and charge you to replace the whole housing, where infact it is invariably just the rubber seal which perishes), and a n/s/f ball joint due to excessive play when being tested for an MOT, a grand total of about £50 non-expected maintenance. Ford Mondeo 2.0 Si

Advantages: Good looks, versatile large boot, handling.
Disadvantages: For us none.

Review of Audi A3 Sportback 2.0 TDI

Almost perfection = A 2.0TDI SE review.

Advantages: Size, running costs, Motorway muncher
Disadvantages: Not ideal for Town Driving. Not for 5 large adults.

...Been driving a 2.0TDI SE for the best part of 2 years. I have done about 60,000 miles in the car and have had very few complaints, so lets get them out of the way first. The steering can feel a tad light at high motorway speeds if you are not carrying a lot of weight. The sensitivity of the steering wheel can lead you to contsantly adjust your steering wheel slightly every few seconds. You can however get this adjusted at your dealer (it has six settings). So this is easily fixed. Secondly the button handbrake can take a little getting used to, especially if you do a lot of motorway miles and rarely use it. But thats just because it is a new system, not one that is faulty. Now onto the good points. Cruise control is fantastic. Pull the level to turn on at your current speed. Tap up for 5 more mph and tap down for 5 less mph...

Toyota Celica 2.0 GTI 16V 1993 'K' Reg'

Advantages: Reliable as a lamp-post, great handling, sexy shape, great performer.

...Toyota Celica 2.0 GTI 16v 5th generation ST182. British car, not import. The model I?m describing here is a ?K? reg 1993 5th generation, 2.0 16v GTI, 3SGE engined front wheel drive version of this wonderful car; it has 154 BHP on tap and is in a non turbo form. The reason for the GT4 coming about with its 200 odd HP output is because there was too much power for just a 2 wheel drive car to handle, torque steering and wheel spin being major drawbacks to power being put down on the road. So split into 4 wheel drive (GT4) evened out the power, thus enabling major upgrades in performance to be had by this body design. 2009 Scirocco GT 2.0 TSI

Advantages: Looks fantastic, build quality, good engine.
Disadvantages: Rear seats are hard to get into.

...This is our family?s newest member, a 09 plate Scirocco 2.0TSI and I?m more than impressed. There was a long wait from the factory (around 12 weeks), but it?s arrived now, and wow! We?ll start off with the looks of the car. I?d say it?s not to everyone?s taste, because it is so different, could well be a love it or hate it type of thing. It certainly get?s looks, while driving through a small town, a teenager pointed and stood with his mouth open as we cruised past. The build quality is very good as well, as you?d expect with a German car. We previously had a VW Passat in it?s place, which of course had a good quality of build, but this is something else! ...I?ve been the owner of a coupe for 8 months now; long enough to have driven it in dry, wet, very wet, snowy and blizzard conditions and it?s been pleasing in all of them but was superb in the worst of them. It seems to glue itself to the road in snow and is the only coupe I have ever had that was actually fun to drive in a blizzard. As standard the Coupe 2.0 comes with electric windows, tilt and slide sunroof, air conditioning, ABS, traction control, central locking, height adjustable drivers seat with lumbar support . Honda Accord 2.0i, 1991 'H' Reg

...This review on the Honda will be aimed at the budget second hand car market, of which there are many good examples to be had for less than £500. The Honda Accord, I recon, is one of the best cars to be had from this era and price. This model of Accord is a 2.0 16v multipoint injection, single overhead cam, (operating all the 16 valves), PGM-FI engine. First impressions of the car (depending on what you?ve been used to), can be a bit on the boring looking side. It?s all there, but it?s a bit of a bog standard looking 4 door 5 seater family saloon with all the bits in the right places. Fine for what we?re talking about here , but no style guru, compared with the slick designs of today?s market.
