...On a recent short break in the Lake District staying near the village of Greystoke not far from Penrith and Ullswater we came across The Boot and Shoe, a pub which also offers meals and accommodation.Greystoke itself is a lovely little village with its 17th century slate roofed stone houses and cottages and is also home to Greystoke Castle, the ancestral home of 'Tarzan.'At the centre of the village there stands an ancient market cross that dates back at least to the early 1600's and it is just along from here that you will find The Boot and Shoe.Finding out what pubs were named after is something I enjoy reading about or asking about particularly if they have an unusual name and as The Boot and Shoe is not a name I can say I have came across before, I was interested to read inside that the pub acqui...

IN UNITED KINGDOM EVEN THOUGH IT?S THE SAME BOOK * ~ I have just finished reading a really good book!! The book in question is called Wedding Fever and is by American Author Kim Gruenenfelder. The book was released in 2011 and so is very recent. The book comes under the chick-lit genre. Shoes For Girls

Advantages: Look nice, well made
Disadvantages: Heels on 3 year olds

...I've got two daughters, aged 4 & 3 and have so far managed to successfully evade the whole Disney Princess phenomenon, apart from a few bits and bobs here and there that have slipped through the net. Neither of my daughters has been thrust with the notion that 'you are a girl so you must want to be a Disney Princess'. However, recently my eldest has started school and has been mixing with miniature Princesses who have Princess lunch boxes, Princess drinks, Princess hair bobbles, Princess gloves, Princess shoe bags...you get the idea; so she has obviously made friends with children who are Disney Princess mad, and consequently developed a liking for pretty, fluffy Princess-like things. These shoes are something she plays with whenever she visits her friend's house, and they are something she really wanted for Christmas...so I gave in...
