...The God of Parody reaches into his box of satire delights and bestows fresh nuggets upon us. This is an all round 'hum-dinger' of an album. As it's my duty, even my raison d'etre, to bring un-mainstream music to the masses, I've been a Weird Al fan for ages. Most of you will know the popular stuff like his Michael Jackson parodies, 'Fat' and 'Eat it' but there is still a sad lack of Al in the charts. ...This review is about my time at the magnificent and luxury hotel the Burj Al Arab. I was lucky enough to spend two nights at this hotel during New Years Eve and New Years day 2008/2009. I had a friend who?s dad did a tone of import export business and thus I even managed to stay their for free, yes that?s right for free, under the condition that I paid for all my own food, and drink, which I was more than happy to at the time. Now everyone has either heard about this hotel, been their or at least seen the pictures of what it looks like, and let me tell you its even more breathtaking in real life. ...Most people are surprised when they hear about my musical tastes. Most see me as someone purely into heavy metal, my friends as heavy metal and clasic rock, but even my very close friends don't seem to understand how far my taste goes. ...There was a stage in my time when I was suffering from SLOM (Severe Lack Of Mirth). This meant I did not laugh half as much as I should. Possibly not even a quarter. Well, here my folks, you are looking at the best possible cure for SLOM. Weird Al. Poodle Hat, which incidentally is one of his latest CD's, promises the buyer both laughter, mirth and satisfaction. ...chapter about Ike Turner is mainly focused on how wronged he feels at his portrayal in the media, namely the film 'What's Love Got To Do With It', which is about his turbulent life with Tina. Most would not have any sympathy with the man but Louis obviously has a grudging respect for his hard-faced attitude in the face of his negative press. This is what is often so engrossing with Louis Theroux. He sometimes builds friendships with the unlikeliest of people such as prostitutes and porn stars and it makes great television. It also makes for great reading but I would recommend his 'Weird Weekend' shows as compulsory viewing before you pick up the book. Only then would you get a totally rounded view of the subjects and the interviewer himself. Louis's sharp intellect comes across particularly well when he demonstrates his journalistic skills on...

...I had this monitor sent to me by Acer after my previous monitor, the AL1914 was deemed beyond repair. My first thoughts were of excitement as the 1951 was of a considderably higher spec than the old monitor. My excitement became a reality when I got the monitor set up. On opening the box, I found the monitor itself, the power supply, and both a VGA and DVI cable. The stand was already pre-fixed to the monitor and this also doubles up as a wall mounting bracket, should you wish to attach the monitor to the wall. On the back of the base there are sockets for the mains power supply, one for the VGA cable, one for the DVI cable and one for an audio feed, should you wish to make use of the monitors internal speaker.
