History comes alive.

Advantages: Free, lots to see, great for all ages.

..., Free, Free!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~~~Our Visit~~~ I don't remember much about my previous visit only how fascinating I found it and how for once I was actually interested in learning some history. But even with these few memories I was eager to visit once again. Finding it easily and having no problems parking in the large car park, we headed to the entrance. It was not yet open as it had been much quicker to reach than we had expected, but there was plenty to look at and read outside. Once open we ventured inside. At the time of visiting they were rebuilding the entrance but it didn't seem to be causing any problems. With no entrance fee we walked straight in. ~A Good "rarebit" of Welsh Cheese~

Advantages: Delicious not as greasy as some cheddars are.
Disadvantages: May be difficult to find.

...I first discovered Y- Fenni some years ago in a delicatessen on one of our monthly trips to Doncaster and being a lover of cheese couldn't resist buying some to try, along with a few others I hadn't tasted before. Imagine my delight when I spotted some on the deli counter in my local Tesco a few weeks ago and unable to resist the temptation, I quickly popped some in my trolley. Y - Fenni (sometimes called Red Dragon) is a Welsh cheese and takes its name from the town where it is made, that's Abergavenny to us English. Made with pasteurised cow's milk, which is curdled with vegetarian rennet, it is then mixed with Welsh ale and mustard grains; pressed into moulds then wrapped in a protective wax. No Welshing on Quality

Advantages: Fascinating subject and era, well written
Disadvantages: The picture on the dust cover might put you off

It's a fast and fascinating read, a touch of history mixed intrigue which uses both a subject and period in time that never fails to draw interest. And if anyone's worried that this is "chick-lit" (say, because I read authors like Joanna Harris, Lily Prior and the like), I can assure you that there's no Hollywood romance here - but there is just enough sex included to spice up the pages. My only real complaint about this book is that the dust cover has a picture of a man who bears an uncomfortable resemblance to Joseph Fiennes from "Shakespear in Love". Let's just hope that they choose someone else to play Marlowe if this ever comes to the big screen. Still, that's no reason to discount this work. So, it looks like I'm going to have to get a copy of Welsh's first novel, since...

...I bought "Ten Horrible Histories" from a book club we run at school. They cost me £10 for the set which was an excellent bargain. They are marked at £4.99 each. The books are paperback with approximately 127/130 pages in each. They are easy and interesting to read for young children with a reading age of about eight. Boys of this age especially, sometimes find reading boring just as the author states that history can be boring. All of the books have a contents and introduction page. The books are interesting and very cleverly written. If a child finds reading a page of text difficult they can read the comic strip or the jokes and an adult could share the book with them by reading the text. There are quizzes and in some books questions to ask the teacher, so the teacher must read the book too! There are rhyme words, lists...

...Well my next review again is another film that was made during the 90's. Gosh they really don't make films like they use to. I must admit ive only seen this film twice once in high school and once with my friends, and both times the film just gives you a sense of shock. The film im going to review is the 1998, critically acclaimed "American History X", directed by Tony Kaye and Edward Norton and Edward Furlong. Ok two quick recaps here, Edward Furlong is the guy who was John Connor in Terminator 2, however just a wee bit more older in this film, but he still looks the same. We then have Edward Norton; you might recognise him from his earlier work in Primal Fear and The People vs. Larry Flynt I must admit this review will talk about some cruel and in some cases sadistic scenes, and for that I apologise if it causes any offence...
