The Magnificent Wembley Stadium

...I returned from Wembley today after sadly watching Chelsea lose on penalties in the Community Shield against Manchester United. I thought I must write a review on it and try to describe an amazing day I had experienced. I had some extreme fortune a few days prior to the match when my dad told me that he had been given two Corinthian Club tickets to Wembley to see the match. The tickets entitled a reserved parking place, all inclusive drinks, a 3 course meal and of course half-way line seats just below the royal box. This was an incredible line up considering I had never been to a football match and it definately didn't disappoint. We arrived by car at Wembley stadium to the site of the famous, symbolic arc hanging over the magnificent new 90,000 seat stadium. Advantages: Great Hotel!

We had a TV in our room which would let us use the internet or Obviously, there were also beds. Room Condition - 80% The room was in excellent condition when I got there... I can't really say it was the same when I left. Design - 70% The design of the room was excellent. It was perfectly set out and there was plenty of space. The walls were nicely painted and the furnishings looked good as well! View - 40% The view was the worst part of the room. The first Cd starts with One vision followed by Tie your mother down, In the Lap of the Gods, Seven seas of rhye, Tear it up, A kind of magic, Under pressure, another one bites the dust, who wants to live forever, I want to break free, Impromptu, Brighton rock solo and finishes with Now I'm here. Each of the songs lasts between 2.12 minutes and 6.20 minutes. ...Above all else I am disgusted with this hotel DONT STOP HERE! I would also like to add some details about the hotel and room 627 at the Wembley Plaza since I have now stayed there (2nd January 2007), first of all there is a safety issue I would like to bring to your attention and that was the state of the wiring for the bed side lamp and I discovered this after attempting to figure out how to turn the light on and was startled to find that this is something that has not been picked up by at least housekeeping. This could be partially very dangerous for one thing and also on the subject of lighting I find it very odd that the only source of light in the room was limited to the hall light, a bedside light, a desk lamp and daylight from the window which made it very difficult to get ready to go out in the evening. Muse Live From Wembley Stadium

Advantages: Brilliant you can feel the atmosphere that was inside the stadium on the day
Disadvantages: Plug In Baby doesn't feature on the CD

...Muse live at Wembley was probably the best gig I have ever been to, having seen them twice already I had high expectations and they still managed to blow me away, so you can imagine my delight when they finally released this CD/DVD. Disc one is simply a CD of some of the songs they performed. From the beginning to end you can almost feel the atmosphere there was in the stadium over the two days. Muse pull out all the stops and the CD kicks off with Knights of Cydonia which sounds even more epic than normal from Wembley Stadium. Throughout the CD you can feel the passion in the songs. The best track on the album for me has to 'Unintended', the song is quite an old one but is such an emotional song and you can feel the emotion that was running through the stadium on the day. Not Perfect But Not Far Off

Advantages: Convenient location, lovely rooms, modern facilities
Disadvantages: Random phone call to room due to confusion with staff

...After booking tickets to see We Will Rock You in London as a Valentine's present for my boyfriend, I then decided it would be more hassle free for us if we stayed in London overnight, rather than having to travel back to Dover after the show. I eventually decided on the Wembley Hilton Plaza after scouring the internet for a bargain. I looked at all the hotels near to the theatre and soon realised that none of these were going to be within my price range as they were about £200 a night. I decided that looking for hotels slightly out of London would be a more affordable option. Good hotel, and handy for Wembley!

Advantages: Good prices, good hotel
Disadvantages: Small car park

.... The hotel is five minutes drive away from Golders Green tube and bus station and also Finchley Central. It also offers good road links into Central London and the major motorways. The hotel is also situated outside the congestion zone. The location of the hotel is around 5 miles from both Wembley Stadium and also The Emirates stadium. ~~~~~~~~~~ THE HOTEL ~~~~~~~~~~ My first impressions on arriving at the hotel, were that maybe it would be very noisy, as it is literally on the corner of the junction. It is a big building which looks new from the outside, with an unusual and modern design. There is a small car park, but only room for around 25 cars, and some people were parked in the neighbouring street, as it is a residential area.
