The Archer

Advantages: Tastes yummy, very little hint of alcohol
Disadvantages: Takes a while to get you drunk as it is an alcopops??

...designed to be easy to handle (for those drunken moments so you won't drop it as it is glass!) and overall, it looks very cool to look at. The Taste The bottle says it is "a sparkling blend of archers schnapps with the crisp taste of peach". I think this is a fair description of the taste actually. I find you can drink this for a long time before you will begin to taste any alcohol, when you start drinking this I never taste the archers in it, only the peach. To me (I'm not an alcoholic or anything!), this tastes like a really pleasant soft drink, that I could dirnk for much of the day or at dinner. The peach is very crisp as the bottle says, you can definately taste the peach and smell the peach. It's not a sublte hint they added at the end, they have got the blend between the Archers and peach balanced very well. I love this, its much...

FREE DVDs

Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review

...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them. ∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊ Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

Just Peachy- Archers Peach Schnapps

Advantages: Tasty, sweet, easy to drink
Disadvantages: Expensive, can get sickly

...***What is it?*** Archers is a Peach flavoured schnapps. It is 23% ABV. It is great served with a mixer like lemonade, soda water or orange juice or part of a cocktail ***Packaging*** Archers comes in a semi opaque long white bottle; handy as you can gauge how much alcohol you have drank/ have left. The top of the bottle is orange and Archers is written in large font on the front of the bottle. The bottle is very plain and does not immediately grab your attention when it is on the shelf in the supermarket. ***Price*** Archers is sold in supermarkets. Asda and Tesco sell a 70cl bottle for around £13. At Christmas time Asda usually have an offer where you can pick up two bottles of Archers for £20. A 1 litre bottle of Archers is sold for around £16.50 in Asda. Archers is much more expensive than other Peach Schnapps...

Review of Archers Peach Schnapps

Have a Peachy Summer with this Archers!

Advantages: Great taste and aroma, good quality liquor.
Disadvantages: Cheaper alternatives

...Archers Peach Schnapps is a 21% liquor with a strong peach flavour and aroma. The drink itself is clear in colour and presented in a standard clouded glass bottle, usually sold in 70cl and 1 litre bottles in all mainstream supermarkets and many smaller off licenses. While not popularly drunk on its own like many other liquors such as 'scotch on the rocks', this fruity liquor is best tasted with a mixture of both alcohol, mixers and juices. This makes it an ideal drink to use in many cocktails, such as the famous and well known Sex on the Beach and Ruby Cooler. I would have to say that the most popular drink however is Archers and Lemonade which almost all bar would sell. With lemonade being such a cheap mixer it makes it a cheaper drink for a night out. Compared to drinks such as Vodka and Redbull, the Redbull is an expensive drink as...

Deserves the Spanish Archer!

Advantages: Plenty, if you like peach...
Disadvantages: Too sweet, and if you don't like peach, you're going to hate it!

...My flatmate isn?t on Ciao. She doesn?t understand why I spend as much time on here as I do, or why I feel the need to travel hundreds of miles to have a beer with a bunch of complete strangers. When I have a challenge, though, she finds it easy to get involved. By ?get involved?, I mean ?takes the piss?. And the more distasteful she thinks I will find the product under consideration, the more ?involved? she gets. And when I told her I?d been challenged by BigYummyAngel to review Archer?s Aqua Peach, she was more ?involved? than ever! Rolling on the floor "involving" her ass off, as I believe is the current phrasing. Archers made quite a late foray into the world of Alco pops, being soundly beaten by Bacardi and their Breezers and only just getting in ahead of Bailey's, not a natural contender for an Alco pop style drink in my...

Archers Abysmal Alcohol!!!

Advantages: It's Limited Edition (Thankfully)!!!
Disadvantages: It Tastes Absolutely Disgusting! Smells Like Sun-cream!!!

...Is it just me or as soon as something new comes out, you instantly have to buy it to try it?! Well I do, it doesn?t matter what it is, if it?s ?new? then I want to know if it?s at all improved from the previous variety. Sometimes I go on the weekly shopping trip, but this week I didn?t and my mother being the considerate soul that she is (this was honestly not sarcasm) decided to buy me the limited edition Archers Aqua drink available! This was a kind act, shame she wasn?t to know that she could have saved her money instead of buying this disgustingly putrid ?drink? and bought me something that I?d appreciate more e.g. used underwear. Quote marks used, as I do not think it should even be classed as drinkable or for that matter sellable! ~~~What Does The Bottle Look Like...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Yummy Archers!

Advantages: Yummy
Disadvantages: Can be sickly

...My review is for Archers Aqua Peach, but as many of you may be aware there are many different flavours of Archers Aqua and also the original pure Archers, so I'm going to give you a bit of background on these as well. Firstly, Archers is pure peach schnapps, produced by G W Archer and Co and has an ABV of 23%. It is sold in 70cl bottles, priced at between £11 and £13, you can get it on offer occasionally, the cheapest I've seen it is £9.99 at our local Somerfield. You can apparently get it in small 5cl bottles for about £1.50 to £2, although I've never seen it on supermarket shelves, and who wants a small bottle anyway?!! Archers Aqua is the alcopop version. It was launched on 15th May 2001 where we saw the flavours peach, cranberry, lime and orange. A year later a rasberry flavour was introduced, and recentely we've seeen...

JEFFREY ARCHER - A PRISONER OF BIRTH

Advantages: BRILLIANT BOOK - DIDNT WANT TO THIS TO END
Disadvantages: NONE

...Jeffrey Archer - A prisoner of birth. This is a fantastic book, and not having read any of Jeffrey Archer books, i was reluctant to even give this a go. I was wrong, this book was gripping in every way and I couldnt put it down. I also didnt want it to end and read the last few chapters quite slowly. Without giving to much away, this book is based around a character called Danny Cartwright, Danny proposed to his love of his life without nowing that day would become one of the worst days of his life, he was arrested and charged with the murder of his best friend Bernie who was also his girlfriends brother. The case finally goes to trial where the prosecution witnesses consist of a Barrister, popular actor, an aristocrat and the youngest partner of an extremly popular law firm. Danny is finally sentenced to 22 years in...

Review of A Prisoner of Birth - Jeffrey Archer

The Jeffrey Archer Appreciation Society

Advantages: a fun story, well told
Disadvantages: well, it's by Archer, isn't it?

...Well, that certainly got your attention I hope! The one thing that I must state from the start (contrary to the title) is that I am not a fan of Lord Archer - in fact I feel him to be detestable excuse for a disgraced ex-politician, allegedly of course. But what is it about this novel that makes it one of my 'must reads' whenever election fever hits the country? The novel is epic in its scale. It was written in 1984 and covers the years 1964 - 1992. It follows the careers of four new MPs from their first days under the Wilson government in the mid-60s: Charles Seymour - Wealthy merchant banker (not rhyming slang, but perhaps on hindsight...) and the second son of an earl (Conservative) Simon Kerslake - Middle Class achiever (Conservative) Raymond Gould - Hard-working barrister from North Yorkshire (Labour) Andrew Fraser...
