...I would just like to write a review on my local Wetherspoon pub, having spent a lot of time in there as of late! But no, I am NOT an alcoholic before you sad people say anything to the contrary. From entering the pub until you leave, no matter what time of day it is that you visit you are aways sure of a great welcome and a good atmosphere. The staff are there to make your experience as enjoyable as possible, it would do more than break their hearts in my mind if anything else happened to you whilst being under their care. All of the Wetherspoon pubs are either older pubs that have been in existence for some time and taken over by the company, or are new pubs that have been set up by them. But no matter how they came about, they are all usually based on local landmarks etc. They display information about the local areas...

...I've now had a drink and/or eaten in a great many Wetherspoons around Britain and I feel that I am justified in reviewing them. As I start writing this I'm unsure how it is going to turn out as I've had varying degrees of service ranging from a couple of instances of truly awful to excellent. The Fleur-de-Lis, Banbury (Wetherspoons)

Advantages: can sit 9 people on one table
Disadvantages: With Fleur de lis Banbury definately the service

...On a Saturday it is very hard to find a mid day restaurant where 8 adults and a todler can all sit together. So when my family all got together in Banbury we did a lot of research and came up with two places. One was extremely busy the other was The Fleur-de-Lis which is a Wetherspoons which we settled for. Wetherspoons Friend or Foe?

Advantages: Cheap drinks, clean facilities, Tasty snacks.
Disadvantages: Hard vegetables and tasteless versions of homemade classics, no table service

...I have really mixed feelings about JD Wetherspoons and feel i should try and explore them and come to a decision about wether they deserve our money. As you take that apprehensive little step through the door you are consistently met with a relaxed and cosy ambience and it all feels..... very british and traditional. If you are anything like me you head straight for the bar and are pleased at the excellent choice and variety of drinks on offer ( alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Wetherspoons Curry Club

Advantages: Good value, wide range of food
Disadvantages: Carbohydrate heavy

...Arguably one of the best days to gnosh down at your local Wetherspoons is a Thursday. You may ask why ? That because Thursday is their Curry Club day and thus you can cheaply satisfy a lust for the spicy stuff. I discovered this feature quite some time ago and thanks to this I?m frequently relieved of cooking duties on a Thursday ! For a cost of £5-7 depending on where your local ?Spoons is you can choose from a selection of 15 curries ranging from the mild (Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh) to mouth peeling hot (Chicken Phaal, Thai Green Chicken Curry) and unusual (Goan Prawn, Malaysian Beef Rendang). ...If only more pub chains were like Wetherspoons! A visit to a Wethrspoons pub proves that most pub chains are operated by people with out a clue. "But everyone wants loud music in a pub!" "If we had large no smoking areas, everyone would be upset!" "Sorry, it is too difficult to keep real ales. Besides, nobody can really tell the difference." "You don't like the quality of our food? wetherspoons - cheap, cheap, cheap

Advantages: cheap drinks, nice tasty food
Disadvantages: no music so no dancing!

...Wetherspoons is my favourite pub, it provides a place everyone can go because there is no music (so people can't complain they don't like the type of music!), it has really nice, tasty food that isn't too expensive and most importantly the drinks are REALLY cheap. I am a student and find that this is one of the very few places that I can go and get drinks for not much more than union prices! You don't have to go on a special night (like student night or some other promotion)to get the good drinks offers - they are there every night! Examples at the moment are lemon hooch for 99p per bottle, £4.99 for a bottle of house wine, £2.99 for a red bull and double vodka and £1.49 for a pint. These prices make them a very cheap pub and therefore the reason it is full of all sorts of people. The food they sell is really nice as well...

...This review is about the Thomas Botfield Wetherspoons in Telford. Earlier on in the day we enjoyed a quite drink in another Wetherspoons that was very well managed. On returning home that evening, we decided to stop off and have our evening meal in the Thomas Botfield Wetherspoons in Telford. We both wish we had not, and had stayed in the previous branch of Wetherspoons for our meal. When we arrived at the J D Wetherspoons Thomas Botfield at Telford shopping centre, we appreciated the fact that it was no smoking. What we did not appreciate was the fact that, in a supposedly music free J D Wetherspoons public house that there was loud music blaring out. ...Where do you go when you want cheap food and a cheap drink? Where ever I am I look for the nearest Wetherspoons. I think that there are now over 600 locations in total There is at least one in most towns around the country. The process is simple. If you want a drink you go to the bar as in any other pub and then take it to your table. If you want a meal you find a table, note down the table number, choose your meal then go to the bar tell them your table number, pay for your meal, sit down and shortly afterwards it is delivered to your table. The drinks are far cheaper than in most pubs and you don't pay lots for non alcoholic drinks. I suppose if you are a bit snobby the wine list isn't the best but there is plenty of choice. ...J D Wetherspoon didn't become the well-established omnipresent town centre name that it is by accident. How many times have you been to a pub or bar, needed to use the toilet but tried to hold it because you know that the sight that will greet you on entering the establishment's facilities is hardly pleasant? Or turned up at the pub for a quiet drink and chat and found that you've strained to hear what your friends are saying because of the pipe music that's blasted in with almost sadistic enthusiasm by the landlords? Wetherspoons clearly have learned some of the lessons of what their market research reports have told them, and have developed chain-wide policies on issues such as cleanliness and ambience which mean that when you see a J D Wetherspoon pub, wherever you are in the country, you have a good idea of what to expect...
