'Chav' is not a good thing!!

Advantages: Being called a 'Chav' is not a good thing!

...What is a Chav? I have been doing allot of research into this subject as I recently held a Chav theme party at my house! I opted for an outfit similar to that of Vicky Pollard Little Britons comedy Character. I apologise if I offend anyone in advance. Description: Chav stands for 'Council Housed and Violent' and they usually come from an uneducated background. Chav's are renowned for they're anti social behaviour and have become a sub-cultural stereotype. Recently Chav's have been represented on our TV screens by Catherine Tate's character Lauren the teenager 'Bothered, am I bothered', 'Are you disrespecting my family?' and Little Britain's Vicky pollard 'Yeah but no but'. I feel President Blair as he became known affectionately and sarcastically in his later years was no worse a prime minister than many others that litter our historic past. Cute Is What They Aim For

Advantages: A beautiful album consisting of 12 strong tracks
Disadvantages: Some dodgy lyrics at times

...Cute Is What We Aim For are a four piece Power Pop band hailing from Buffalo, New York. Having formed in 2005, the band released this début album 'The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch' in 2006 through the record label Fueled By Ramen. Shifting 13,651 album copies in the first week of release, the album broke the record label's internal record set by Panic At The Disco's 2005 release of 'A Fever You Can't Sweat Out' by a massive 4000 copies. Given that Panic At The Disco's album went on to become a Platinum selling album (selling over one million copies), this is quite an achievement. I am not in any way sticking up for the reckless and unacceptable behaviour of some Chavs, but I can see where they are coming from. They are disillusioned have no grasp of what is expected in today's society and they have no discipline. In the past there has been at least the opportunity to partake in other things, like youth groups and the like. As I walk down the street I see groups of youths huddled together drinking their Buckfast or whatever and they have no direction no hope and no future as they see it. The idea that all seems forlorn is not a new concept either most generations have some kind of rebellion against society but it usually passes. What It Is To Succeed

Advantages: Wide range of vocals, good use of intruments, some extremely catchy songs, clever lyrics
Disadvantages: A little 'samey', two unnecessary tracks

..."What It Is To Burn" is Finch's first major release, and it does not disappoint. Described as a "post-hardcore" band, Finch brought a unique style of rock music to the masses, a style which has been used over and over again since by numberous bands. Right from the opening track, "New Beginnings", you can tell that this band have something different about them. The lengthy, gripping intro is perfect for an opening track; it acts as a real introduction to the album. Instantly after, everything else comes into play; powerful drumming and swirling guitar riffs are all here, and a truimphant opening song is upon you. So far, so good. ...This review gives my own personal opinion of how deep beauty really is, but of course as with all things people do have their own points of view. Whereas I understand that I have to respect another person's own slant on things even though I may not agree with them, I just hope that you like what I have to offer.
