More than just a Whim!

Advantages: Tasty, lovely straw colour....well rounded beer.
Disadvantages: May be difficult to get except locally and at Beer Festivals.

...They always say that you should encourage local producers and buy locally produced goods. If I can support a Derbyshire brewer AND have a good beer too then I don?t mind following this advice. We have a few breweries in Derbyshire; one of the best ones is the Whim brewery and one of their best beers is Hartington IPA. Whim Brewery is based in Hartington, which isn?t too far away from Buxton in Derbyshire. They began brewing back in 1993 at Whim Farm (in the old outbuildings) and also own Broughton Brewery, which is based in Scotland (although they do operate independently of each other). Whim own one pub of their own (The Wilkes Head in Leek Staffordshire) but their beers can be found in a number of local outlets (we drink them at The Thorn Tree in Matlock and The Boat at Cromford). Definatley Radiant!! Superb product....just a bit pricey!!!

...I bought this product on a bit of a whim (kind of regretted it immediatley afterwards as it was a bit pricey) but when I got it home and tried it, I was really pleased with it. The product comes with a leaflet telling you the best places to apply and I really found that it worked well around the eye area. It doesn't work well if you put it on before foundation but if you put on your foundation and blush/bronzer and then apply, it gives you a radiant shine around your eyes which makes them look larger and brighter. Its great if you have any darkeness or puffiness around that area as it totally takes it away. I have also found that the product has lasted me a long time, you don't need to use a lot of it. The only down side I think, is that it doesn't seem to stay on as long as I would like. The overage seems to fade after a few hours...

Review of Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat (Radiant Touch)

Boldly going blah blah blah....

Advantages: A brand new Enterprise!
Disadvantages: It feels so slow, it lacks the pace of an adventurous Sci-fi film!

...Sure...the Engines work...but its everything else that doesn't. Good old Scotty...having to deal with Kirks every whim! Star Trek five was directed by Leonard Nimoy and is dare I say....the weakest of the Star Trek movie franchise. To be fair to it though, there are so moments of genius. I loved Mr. Spock, Bones and Kirk singing 'Row Row Row your boat' around the camp fire. It is a touching moment, especially when Kirk laments that he has always known that he will die alone...it is like the last supper for three dear colleagues...who have become great friends and family. I also enjoyed seeing the new ship (remember the old one was burnt up in Star Trek 3). It was originally the USS Yorktown, but was renamed in honour of Kirk and his crew who had just saved Earth...again (see Star Trek 4)! The scenes with the rocket boots are also...

Nostalgia heaven

...While I didn?t quite manage to grow up while Duran Duran were really huge (Well, technically I did but I was to young to notice at the time) there music still implanted itself in my head. I bought Greatest on a whim in a sale and when I got home and put it on my CD player I was surprised by the amount of tracks I knew on it. All of them bar their latest release, Electric Barbarella! All the tracks on the album (Latest release excluded again) are classics. From Girls on Film (The song with THAT video) to A View to a Kill, from the Bond movie of the same name to Save a Prayer. One of the few songs Duran Duran released in the 90?s that?s up to much. At nineteen tracks you can?t even begin to complain about poor value for money, so just buy it and get all nostaligic!...

...Now, I'm not a cat, so I can't vouch for the taste of these, but my boy loves them. Like all cats, he is extremely fussy, prone to changing his mind on a whim, so the fact that he eats these every day and has done for months, is a pretty good recommendation I reckon. I feed George wet food as well as dry (dry for snacking) but I actually think he's might be preferring dry food now. The vet also recommended these for his teeth and gums - I haven't been back to the vets since he started eating them so I don't know if they work. (And there's no way I'm risking my hand near the cat's mouth). They have adult food, kitten and older cats and a few different flavours. My cat loves the chicken one. ...I was first tempted to use a Body shop eyeshadow by an attractive display in the window. The range of shades normally take in current favourites, they are in handy little containers, are long lasting and certainly hard wearing.A sponge applicator is not provided, however how many of us actually normally use those provided anyway. Blending is very easy and there is a good range of testers to try before you buy. The price is good and enable you to pick and choose and add to your selection at your whim....

Finally - something that seems to work for me!

...After going off the pill 8 months ago, I began suffering regular acne - pretty frustrating for a 30-year old. I tried many different cleansers and gels and get regular facials, however nothing seemed to work. On a whim I picked up the PTR acne clearing gel at a Space NK sale, and it seems like my skin is finally clearing up. Whether or not the PTR gel can take full credit for this new development (I've also started eating better and getting more exercise), is hard to say, but for now I'm quite impressed with the results. One warning: I do find that my skin sometimes stings a little right after application, but not for long. On the whole, after using this product for a few weeks, I would definitely recommend it!...

What are you trying to tell me?

...I bought this book on a whim, I suppose I'm sucker for human behavior info. It was a £7.99 whim for what is really just something to dip into here and there. More the sort of thing someone should have bought me for christmas. It helpfully tells us on the front cover that is was written by the 'Big Brother' resident psychologist Peter Collet and reminds us on the back that it's 'as seen on t.v.' It's easy to tell its not a great in-depth academic book as it's printed in larger than normal print to try and pad it out a bit and look like your're getting something worthy. It's thirteen chapters of these 'tells' which are basically little emotional giveaways most often looked for in poker, and the name 'tell' comes from poker. These are - 1. If you liked Heroes you'll love this

Advantages: Fantastic plot, good acting, good camera work, not excessive in graphics
Disadvantages: relatively low budget though this isn't particularly noticable, just don't expect an epic

...If you liked Heroes you'll love this. The premise is very similar to that of heroes but it's plot puts it in a league of its own. I bought both box sets on a whim and was happily surprised by my purchase. I was gripped from the first episode and couldn't believe it hadn't recieved a larger following here. My only complaint is that it has been cut at season 4 which is a shorter season as i can guarentee you will be left desperatly wishing for more at the conclusion of the final episode. The series' follow the lives, focusing on different individuals each episode though with several main protagonist characters onscreen more often, of 4400 people that were abducted over a time frame of roughly 100 years and their unusual abilities as a consequence of their abduction.
