...Well Christmas Eve saw us left without a washing machine as ours decided that it wanted to pack up. This was a pain, as we wanted to get our last bit of washing done and out the way for the next day. Well we had to wait to get Christmas day out of the way and decided to wait till the sales got in full swing. Anyway it is now New Years Eve and there were plenty of places for us to look at now. Firstly we looked online to see what machines were on offer in the various stores, we looked at the usual, Dixons, Argos, Curry?s and Comet etc. Then we saw an ad on tv and went to the Miller Bros website to look the offer over. Our previous washing machine was also a Whirlpool and it lasted for about six years so we got a fair bit of use out of it. Rather than get it fixed and incur labour charges that can make up most of the bills we saw...

Whirlpool Gas Range

My soon to be father in law and I had went and looked at Gas Ranges the previous day (Keeping in mind...I didn't know he was going to buy one for me...and of coarse I pointed out almost the most expensive one they had!). ...I am writing this complaint as a last resort after many hours and money spent trying to resolve this situation. We installed Whirlpool appliance model # RBD275PDS14 (double wall oven) with serial number XR4311868 3 years ago. The following is a chronological list by date of what had transpired regarding our earnest attempts to have our oven repaired. Saturday June 2, 2007: Upper oven was in use at a temperature of 250 degrees. The upper oven outer glass shattered. Whirlpool AWOD4505

Advantages: Queit, very good spin, good wash and overall excellent value!
Disadvantages: Can't really find one.

...A+ Energy efficiency, and while its only got a B rating on Spin, I do think it gives much better performance on that. Washing efficiency is given as A and I would agree with that one. Load weight is 5kg which is fairly standard for machines in this range. I had a Servis machine, and nothing but trouble from the moment we bought it. I have eventually relented and bought this Whirlpool as a direct replacement, costing £185-00 on offer from Co-op direct. I've immediately taken out the *8* year (yes, eight year) warranty for parts for just £25-00! Okay you still would have to pay for labour, but its pretty impressive to find a budget machine with such good warranty on its parts. It has done all we've asked of it so far - and is particularly quiet in operation, especially after the Servis machine I had. It has an anti-crease spin...

whirlpool awo/d4505 - brilliant!

...The whirlpool awo/d4505 is a fab washing machine! Altogether there are 4 of us in the house, and I have to do at least 2 loads a day! We have had the machine for 18 months now, and it has never had a problem. There are so many different cycles that you can always find one not only to suit your washing needs but also your timing too. My washing always comes out clean, smelling great - which isn't my experience with previous machines ive had. I use the brilliant 30 minute wash a lot. I have so much to get through, to be able to do a small load and have it drying is fantastic, rather than every load lasting a long time - especially with school uniforms that get yoghurt and paint down them and need to washed and dried by the next morning! (£170) Lets start with the technical stuff: Load capacity: 6kg Freestanding & vented Energy Efficiency: C Electronic sensor for controlled drying Front Loading Anti-crease function 60cm width (Standard Appliance Size) Ok I have had this tumble dryer for a while now and can honestly say that it has been one of the best buys I have made. The dryer is the vented type which means that you will have to have access to an externall wall to fit the outflow pipe to. The pipe and fittings are supplied in the box for fittment to the tuble dryer end but you will have to arrange your own external wall cover as these are not supplied. In our case this was not a problem as it was a direct replacement for a differnt dryer and as all fittings are of a standard size it was simply a case...

...Had a Whirlpool AWM 328 washing machine for nearly nine years and apart from a new control panel in its first year, used to just stop before starting spin cycle, never had another problem until just yesterday evening when in the middle of the spin cycle it started to make a horrible clanking sound and had to rush to turn it off. Looks like drum bearing has just gone and died. 8 years is pretty good going I think, and we do a lot of heavy full loads when son is home from uni, usually at least three in a row with no rest periods, this is not including the average of two washes a week that we normally do. Funny thing is that son had same washer left in house that he moved in to lasy January and that one died the same death just three weeks ago. Weird, or what. Anyway, I am currently on line just looking at the range of new Whirlpool...

General comments. I'm a fan of Whirlpool products and this is no exception. We paid £156-00 (excluding delivery) from Sainsbury's. It arrived well packaged, and after letting it settle after transport and turing it on, it was quickly at a nice cool temperature. It has Auto Defrost facility (as you would expect with most fridges today) but one nice little touch is the lips on the glass...

We decided to take out a 10-year parts guarantee with them and when we purchased them from Comet we took out a 5-year labour guarantee. We have had a number of fairly minor faults over time where we have had to have engineers out to fix the fault and had never had a problem until the last time. Lets give you a bit of history first that will explain why I am so frustrated, A short while ago we had a burst water pipe in our kitchen, when the plumber was moving the washing machine to get to the pipe, he ripped the lino, he explained that as the lino was wet it ripped easily, but not to worry as the household insurance would cover it. On this occasion as there was water everywhere I had no problems calling my household insurers and they had no problems...
