Great looks - poor performance - Nike Tiempo SGT Gloves
Advantages: Stunning looks, very comfortable.
Disadvantages: Very poor grip
...Since being young I have been borderline obsessed with goalkeeper gloves. In my late teens and early 20's I was buying up to 8 pairs of gloves a season. Outrageous, yes maybe, but I was hooked with the feel and optimism that a new pair of gloves would bring. My mates bought boots by the, er, boot load, I however always opted for gloves.
Imagine then my disappointment with this purchase. They look the absolute part, having an excellent colour scheme and that massive Nike tick, reassurance usually of a well-made product. I fell for these gloves immediately and parted with something in the region of £65 for them. I had made a mistake.
The main problem with these gloves is the foam. 4mm latex palms are what you would expect from professional quality gloves, but by my own admission the SGT technology was an intriguing concept...

No serious goalkeeper should be wearing anything but fingersaves!
Advantages: Protection from breaks and increased control
Disadvantages: Can be a bit strange at first if not used to fingersaves but easy to adapt to!
...I thought I would write this review as I have had a great experience with this product. I'm no professional, though play football at a respectable level and consider myself to be a promising young goalkeeper.
I had never bothered with fingersave gloves before I broke my index finger in a game last year. I decided following it's recovery that I should invest in a pair of fingersave gloves. I must admit I had my reservations about these in particular with respect to mobility. I thought the bending of the fingers would be restricted too much but I was wrong.
I invested in a pair of these and they have been brilliant, no problems whatsoever. If there is anyone out there not wearing fingersave gloves, then invest in a pair, because you only need to break a finger that refuses to heal properly and you've got problems. These gloves...

Natural Rubber Gloves.
Advantages: A good quality product that is durable.
Disadvantages: None.
...Rubber gloves are not on my list of favourite things to buy, I rarely wear them for anything else other cleaning drains or unblocking sink traps.
But saying that I always keep a pair in my cupboard for dealing with those unforeseen emergencies.
Getting the right type of rubber gloves can be tricky, some are so flimsy that they tear on their first outing, others can be so thick that you cannot feel your fingers and if you manage to buy the right size first time around then you are a far better woman than I am.
The cheap rubber gloves are very hit and miss, they invariably have no lining and will end up damaging the skin on your hands. I find that the supermarket own brands often make my hands sweat so when I take the glove off my skin looks wrinklier than ever.
Pay a little more for a pair of rubber gloves and you seem to get...

They Fit Just Like A Glove.
Advantages: Provides relief and protects hands.
Disadvantages: Not widely available on the high street. Need to come in other sizes.
...moved as much. When it is on our hands it is not as easy because they are being used all the time, and if the skin is dry it is more likely to crack.
So I try very hard to take extra care of my hands during the winter months, and I'm always on the lookout for anything that will help to protect my hands to avoid my them from becoming dry and sore. Prevention is always better than cure.
In the cold winter months when I'm out and about walking I wear gloves to keep my hands warm and to protect them from the harsh elements. This helps prevent my hands from drying more. However wearing regular gloves in the house limits the movement in my hands, and makes certain tasks difficult.
One winter when my hands were suffering quite a bit, I went into my local chemist to ask for advice, to see what would be best to use on my hands to keep...

The White Knight to the rescue on those wet summer days
Advantages: User friendly, light weight and good load capability
Disadvantages: C rated so not he most economical
...As most people in Britain own a washing machine, many, like me, probably struggle to get there washing dry, especially with the glorious sunshine and top quality weather that is constantly warming our cheery faces, (that was sarcasm by the way), so the invention of the clothes/tumble dryer was a god send.
So when my old dryer suddenly decided to stop blowing hot air, whilst also gaining a sort of stutter, I decided to go on the hunt for another similar one, coming across a brand called White Knight.
But, to add to my confusion, I discovered that there are several types of dryers, such as spin dryers, which simply spin the clothes inside so fast that they eventually dry.
Then there?s the condenser dryer, which passes warm air through the clothes and turns the heated air into water vapour sending the vapour into a storage hold, thus...

Scrub a Dub Dub Gloves In The Tub
Advantages: reveals brighter younger looking skin
Disadvantages: not suitable for people with dry skin conditions
...I am forever buying beauty products and spend a small fortune on new ones each month. I am particularly fond of Nougat Exfoliating Body Wash and I use two 200ml bottles a month. Each bottle of Nougat Exfoliating Body Wash cost me £18 so I was spending £36 per month which is quite expensive for just one product. So when I spotted the Exfoliating gloves in the Body Shop for £3 I decided to buy them. The main reason I bought them was because they were cheap and if I liked them then I would save over £430 per year because I would no longer buy Nougat Exfoliating Body Wash.
The exfoliating gloves just look like a normal pair of white gloves you would wear in the winter weather. The only difference is that the exfoliating gloves are made from a slightly scratchy synthetic material, similar to a scouring pad. I was a bit wary about using...

Endless glove is a splendoured thing indeed!
Advantages: Gorgeous scent and leaves hands feeling so smooth!
Disadvantages: £4.40 a tube.. but there's always special offers on!
...You may have read my recent review about the poor Avon Glycerine hand cream which felt like I was covering my handsin a horrible smelling grease. I was going to try and survive the whole tube until I saw the Soap and Glory Endless Glove Dry Hand Cream.
I was in Boots and I decided to treat myself to some various products. I've never used Soap and Glory before but I've heard so many good things about this range that I was intrigued. When looking at their range in Boots I noticed they were all currently on 3 for 2, I choose 2 other products and this hand cream was my last choice. I did debate whether or not to keep using the greasy Avon hand cream but the thought of using that again made the Soap and Glory hand cream a firm purchase in my mind.

The first thing I noticed about Soap and Glory is they have very...

That little Extra Strength
Advantages: Excellent support for fingers, good grip, good punch
Disadvantages: None that I can find so far
...You've had those days in goal, where you've dived long, landed hard, got your fingers to the ball as it was flashing by and you think "YES...what a save!", unfortunately your fingers didn't quite hold up and it snuck into the corner....
Well no more, when I found these gloves this season, I was immediately taken by them, the shop didn't have my size, didn't know when they would get some more, so I took one size smaller and they've worked out well.
The strengthened strips in the back of each finger serve several purposes :
1. They add strength to your fingers when making saves that require that "fingertip" touch
2. They stop your fingers being bent back and injured on all parts of your hand
3. They give some protection for stubbing your finger on the ball and from doing damage to your finger tips.
Punching is...

Gloves 'r' us
Advantages: cheap, very effective
Disadvantages: Not sure if they would fit men??
...How bizarre just the thought of wearing gloves whilst in the shower made my husband laugh.
I read a few reviews about these gloves and finally decided to buy them from Duty Free Bodyshop whilst stranded at Gatwick airport for 5hours recently. Since they were slightly cheaper than the highstreet shops (I think......well they were cheap anyway at £3.40 each), I decided to buy 2pairs. I bought a lilac pair for myself and a cream pair hoping my husband would give them a go.
Honestly, my husband could not stop laughing thinking of all the things you can buy at duty free, I bought funky looking gloves.
Anyways, I didn't use them whilst on holiday and they were shoved to the bottom of my suitcase. I normally am very sensitive in the sun and easily burn and suffer very badly from prickly heat. I had decided not to use the gloves...
