When our children were young the Westbury White Horse was a very popular weekend visiting place, you could bundle the kids into the car, pack a picnic, have just enough petrol in the tank to get there and back and still be sure that it was going to be a good afternoon out. The entrance to the Westbury white horse is via a long, narrow and windy road. But the road does have a number of `passing points`. As the car reaches the brow of the hill there is grass as far as the eye can see. I was always fascinated by this figure so when I discovered that there was a similar white horse in North Yorkshire within a day trip of where I live it became a place that I wanted to see. The White Horse: A step in the right direction.

Advantages: Scenery, Visual Impact of the Food, Friendly Locals
Disadvantages: Value for Money - perehaps a little expensive, awkward to find.

...Sorry about the title - ultra-cheesey, I know. Anyway, within the last year, The White Horse has been transformed from a dank, old-man's pub into an airy, bright cafe-style pub, which really works very well. Unlike most Dublin pubs, there's plenty of seating available, the beer is always good, and the service is invariably professioanl and courteous. Again, unlike most Dublin pubs, the music doesn't blare out so that you can't hear yourself think. Prices are average and the location is nice and central - just 100 yards down from O'Connell Bridge....

Advantages: Fascinating addition to landscape. Interesting stories/fables behind their making. Reminder of special historical events.

My father often had sales calls to make in Wiltshire when I was a child, and I?d often go along for the ride just for the scenery. The Trotter family consists of two brothers Derek and Rodney(played by David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst) who live in their Nelson Mandela Flat are traders in peckham, struggling to make ends meet, but they always end up with dodgy deals, which makes this programme pure gold to watch. You will wet your pants if you were to watch Only Fools and Horses, because of the wacky adventures and dodgy deals the two brothers end up with. Derek is the more assertive, extrovert brother of the two brothers. He manages to always get him and his brother into trouble by buying 'Knocked Off' products such as inflatable dolls which are explosive! Rodeny is the more intelligent brother, he thinks things through, unlike his brother. I would recommend this...
