...It is amazing what you find when you are having a clear out, and putting away all the Christmas Presents and finding space for them. I came across a present that I got last year. I put it away and with moving it was like Christmas all again. I come across this purple and silver glittery box and then I remembered what it was, my favourite perfume for everyday. It was the Body Shop White Musk Gift Set. My hubby had bought it as a little gift last year and it just got packed away with the rest of the stuff in the house and boy was this a pleasant surprise. The box is like a hard lid box and could be used as something else like a jewellery box and is of really good quality. ...Just one whiff of this scent and I'm immeadiately reminded of my late Nan, who regularly received White Musk body spray on birthdays, Christmas and Mothers Day. White Musk was her absolute favourite and even though I have on occasion received this spray as a gift I have found it extremely difficult to wear. It 'belongs' to my Nan and no else. You probably think I'm a very strange person, but if you think about it, the sense of smell is one of the first senses to come alive in a newborn baby. A newborn instantly recognises and feels comforted by the scent of its mother. I'm sure most of you can match a fragrance to a person. ...I rarely go in the Body Shop, it's one of those shops that I tend to forget about when I'm out shopping for toiletries, but when I do go in I always come out with a bottle of White Musk body spray. I first tried this as a teenager my friends all loved the vanila range but I thought it was too sickly and preferred the White Musk, it's still the same now as it was back then it's just gone up in price a little, but what doesn't? THE BOTTLE....The body spary is 100ml in size, the bottle is transparent plastic with pale lilac writing, it looks very simple with the Body Shop logo in small letters. It has a pump action spray nozzle that when pressed sprays a fine mist of the scent, this I find works well. THE SCENT.....The Body Shop advertise this as being sensual and romantic, I would agree. ...I am writing my review based on a product in the Boots Natural Collection "Ice Musk Body Spray", I came across it a couple of years ago when I was at a body shop party at a mates of mine, when we trying different perfumes and I had always been a fan of White Musk perfume and always had to buy a bottle when I went down to my mums, well it was there that at this party that someone informed me that I could get it a lot cheaper but it had a different name and I could get it from boots as we didn't have a body shop in our town around that time…White Musk was a very popular brand and ranged from perfumes to talc powder but was expensive!! The girl told me that it was called Ice Musk, so the next day I thought I would go and have a look for myself and my god she was right!! ...White Musk Perfum C/O The Body Shop is a fragrance which is rumoured to be a favourite of Victoria Beckham. Now, with all of her posh dosh ~ it HAS to be good! Enough of her though, here's what i think about the product plus further information about the Body Shops trademark item. White Musk was originally launched by The Body Shop in 1982 (yes that long ago!) and became The Body Shops best selling fragrance. Body Shop describe this product as a contemporary classic. I agree! They say it is important in which fragrance you wear, as it becomes your identity. This is true, however regardless of wearing perfume to suit trends it is known that different fragrances can also lift our mood & give us a nicer feeling about ourselves mentally & physically. ...I have to say at the start that I have used this product only because it was a gift. As many people may already know, the Body Shop's musk product is called 'White' Musk, because it is not real musk. Real musk is derived from (I think) the adrenal glands of reindeer, so for obvious reasons, would be an unacceptable ingredient for the Body Shop or its customers. Although it is laudable not to use real musk, unlike a number of 'brand name' fragrances, I have to say that the Body Shop's attempt to create a synthetic, musk-like fragrance, has been somewhat unsuccessful. Although reasonably pleasant in itself (but not my particular taste, I was overjoyed when the family who normally gives me White Musk gave me Hemp last Christmas!), the fragrance is sufficiently distinct from that of real musk to be easily recognised as simply... ...The Body Shops White Musk range was recomended to me by a close friend. I had never shopped in the body shop previous of this, but am glad I did- There's loads of other great products in there too! ........Anyway, back to the subject. There are body sprays, lotions, shampoos, bath oils etc. available in the white musk scent at the bodyshop, aswell as the perfume. I love it and cant believe I once lived without it! Its a strong, earthy scent, but not to over powering. I usually only wear the perfume throughout the day, I dont find it fruity enough for going to a club or somewhere special. I usually find applying one spray to my neck and one on either wrist gives a distinctive musky scent, but is not to strong. If you are wearing it all day you may need to use more of the scent by the late afternoon, but be careful not to over do it... Read review

...I can't even remember how I came to own this product but that doesn't matter anyway does it. I like The Body Shops White Musk and when I wear it I tend to use the EDT and body lotion together to prolong the scent as much as possible as it is not the best when it comes to lasting all day. I thought that by wearing this I might be able to get more longevity to my fragrance. This comes in your average roller ball deodorant packaging, it is white but with a purple sheen to it and purple writing on it. It stands at 11cm tall so is average in size and contains 50ml. This costs £5.00, quite a bit more than most standard deodorants. Due to it's high cost, I had high hopes! The second I opened this I was very disappointed as it has only a little of the White Musk scent which is completely overpowered by the stench of alcohol! I find... Read review
