It's not far from the infamous football ground of Elland Road and is sufficiently far out of the centre so as to avoid nightmare parking scenarios. Parking and travel The White Rose offer free parking in 8 to 10 enormous car parks. It also has a bus station and a taxi facility so, when you're laden down with shopping, travel is convenient. There are a substantial number of disabled spaces in each car park and access to the centre is easy as there are no steps leading from the car parks to the centre. The road system for the centre is almost like a ring road in that is runs the entire way round the centre. It is almost like an enormous two way roundabout. White Rose..... Er.... Chav Rose.

Advantages: Free Parking, Large Variety of shops in one place
Disadvantages: Chav Central, No Individuality, Can Be Crowded

...I know that it appears like blatant snobbery, but it really is the case now. Everywhere you turn in White Rose you see some small pocket of "yoofs" wearing kappa tracksuits tucked into football socks, white adidas trainers, a tracksuit top (not matching) and a Burberry cap or similar depending on their chav status (See an Upcoming Ciao Cafe review for that one!) The White Rose Centre is actually a useful place. It has a whole gamete of high street stores conviniently massed in one place, organised well and there is free parking (a rarity nowadays). There is also the larger department stores (BHS, Marks and Spencers and WHSmiths) as well as a Sainsbury's Savacentre for all those outlet foodstuffs. There is a bias towards women's shopping, but find me a mall catering for men's fashions and I will be there every single weekend...

I never thought I would say this about a White Knight as when I've seen them they look cheap and low rent, and look like they wont last for 5 minutes . Not quite a bunch of roses : Cadbury's Roses

Advantages: Nice chocolate, a couple of good fillings

The White Knight to the rescue on those wet summer days

Why are they called Roses?

Advantages: Lovely cadbury chocolate

...Before Christmas several shops had offers for tins of chocolates and I bought a big tin of Cadbury Roses. We are still digging into them but I have sampled them all, even the ones I dislike! My tin contained 1.05kg, I do wish I had counted how many chocolates were in the tin, but on second thoughts I don't want to know how many we have consumed although they have been shared with friends and family! Best before date is April 2009, I was surprised to see the contents are stamped on the base although different chocolates could be replaced if necessary. There is information on the makers Cadbury Trebor Bassett and contact details, if you need to complain. Do you prefer daisies or roses?

Advantages: Versatility, great flavours, high quality
Disadvantages: No strong smell

...these came in came in a similar carton to those that Mars celebrations or Mini Heroes come in. A cardboard carton, almost cuboid in shape but slightly wider at the top than it is at the bottom. The main colour on the box is a bright blue, quite a nice colour and I think would stand out on the shelf; obviously swaying my mum to buy these over any of the other types. There is a pattern of red almost abstract roses on the top three quarters of the box, and the bottom quarter is a deep purple shade. The cadburys logo is written in the traditional purple in the top left hand corner, and underneath the word 'ROSES' is written in large white writing. Price and Availability Speaking of getting your money's worth...the Bourjois Khôl & Contour eye-liner pencil retails at £4.20 at Boots. However, getting your hand on the Rose Fantaisiste shade could prove tricky, since it's not available on the Boots website. I can't say whether or not it is still available in store, as I haven't had any reason to look out for it since I bought it. I've had mine for over a year now and it's still going strong. If you're interested in other shades, the Boots website has 7 different shades (albeit it two different black shades and their new, double-ended black and white Khôl Contour pencil).
