Beyond the lush well kept grounds lays the beach.It looks very tempting but has no shade and is usually covered in sand flies and hawkers selling fruit ,sarongs ,jewellery and cigarettes, some of it genuine some not.At the fence where the hotel meets the beach there is a guard at all times to stop the hawkers coming in while you relax.You can go out and buy from them and any unpeeled fruit is especially cheap compared to hotel prices.I buy fruit from them to feed the elephant and make friends before the big day. It is advisable not to swim in the water here as the undercurrents are very strong.You should check for the flag and if in doubt stay out..There is a PADI dive school which operates on the lagoon side and also arranges trips out to dive sites at sea. You will occasionally see a large water monitor lizard...

...Cyprus was'nt my 1st choice for a hoiday this year, but Ruth my partners sister telephoned us in August 2004 to say she was getting married abroad in July 2005, and would we like to attend. Of course we said yes and so the task of booking in to the same hotel on the same board status began. Cols sister was traveling with Thomas Cook, so I called them ''no room'' they said '' Oh no'' I said. So on to my trusted PC, entered the name of the hotel in too a search engine and walla - a few moments later we was booked all inclusive in to the Anastasia Beach Hotel. After negotiating Larnaca airport, we located our taxis for the transfer and off we went through barren countryside along a stretch of road that was apparently a Motorway, two lanes and a speed restriction of 100km an hour. ...If you are looking for a relaxed holiday with not too many frills then the Ledra Beach is for you. Its a friendly and inviting hotel with excellent food I have to say.....probably one of the best advantages of this hotel. The accommodation is a little tired but nontheless comfortable and clean. An animation team keep you entertained day and night with a few outside acts a couple of times a week. Aqua aerobics, childrens games, quizzes keep you occupied through the day. We booked an all inclusive holiday and we had no complaints whatsover with the choice, variety and quality of food, it has to be one of the best menus on the island in any hotel! ...yellow walls are accented with black and white photos of classic Miami Beach Deco hotels. Wooden Venetian blinds add to the airy, tropical feeling. The pool's nothing on that at The National - but who needs one ? The ocean's just acress the street ! Also, there's no restaurant, although they do serve a "continental" style breakfast in the lobby - or even on the verandah. There are also a hundered excellent eateries just a few blocks down Ocean Drive, so we didn't find the lack of a restaurant a problem at all. There's also the AMAZING "Jerry's Famous Diner" just around the corner at 1450 Collins Avenue, everything you could ever want for breakfast, lunch and dinner ! As with most South Beach hotels, there's no car park, but a valet parking service is available with a $25 daily fee. Just a reminder that you'll need to give them...

..., which is a bit of a rip-off. I didn't bother with those at all. You can try and pretend you didn't know that they have to be paid for but this will only work once. The guy looking after them has an excellent memory for faces. The beaches themselves are amazingly clean. The golden sand set against clear blue water really allows your mind to relax and get away from it all. For the adventurous there are a few water sports such as sailing and surfing and again these are not included in the all inclusive package. Apart from that there's not much to say about the beach except perhaps that unlike other resorts I've been to, you don't get pestered by people trying to sell you stuff. Silver Beach Hotel - Heaven

...I have just returned from a wonderful 2 week holiday at the Silver Beach Hotel, on the East Coast of Mauritius. It's a 3 * hotel, with 5 * service. ACCOMMODATION We arrived at Silver Beach early afternoon, tired from a 12 hour flight. We were given a warm welcome by the staff and had a lovely refreshing cocktail, whilst we filled in our registration card. Our first impression was that the hotel was a little plain and could do with a coat of paint - but that was just the corridors and the exterior of the building. The bedrooms were bright and very clean. The bed sheets and towels were changed every day and the man who cleaned our room made us smile with his swans and lilies that he made out of our towels. ......HHmmm. Coke & Fanta cost about 60p per bottle... Sunbed rental by the pool costs 10 Dalasis now each...about 40p....even if the brochure says they don't they still do!!!Same on the Beach... The Beach..what happened? Who dropped the bomb? The beach has suffered from erosion and you now need to drop down about 12 feet to the beach level and the sand is not so nice...no palm trees where there was once loads...sure if you leave the hotel and go left after about 5 mins walk you do find the old beach...Major upset...Sea very rough... Still no bugs in room though...still very clean. The 2 main complaints from last time : the body odour has been actioned by managment as I could find no trace...not that I tried to find it you understand! Food, improved slightly...they do loads of different dishes on fixed basis help yourself type...

...We stayed at the Ascos Coral beach Hotel ,Cyprus, in June 2009. The hotel, during the summer months is for adults only,which if your are on a relaxing holiday makes a big difference. Once you enter the hotel you can notice straight away that there are no children running around, its very peaceful. The hotel is around half an hour drive from the airport at Paphos. It is located on the coast and has a pathway down to a shingle beach which to be honest we did not use as it was a bit awkward to walk along. The shops, not many mind, and the bars are about a five minutes walk. If you want to go to the coral bay beach it would take you around 15 minutes to walk there at the most, and to drive there it would take around 1 minute.
