A very dark white zinfandel
Advantages: Lovely taste, very fruity
Disadvantages: more expensive than my usual brands
...This is my first review of a wine so I hope it is up to a good enough standard for all the wine appreciator's out there!
I have become very partial to a glass or two of white zinfandel! I don't drink that often but when I do, I like to drink something that is immediately lovely and find that White Zinfandel's hit that spot for me!
I don't usually buy this particular brand, as full price it is a little expensive for my tastes (I usually stick with Blossom Hill (the most I will spend on a bottle at around £5.00, Rivercrest or Echo Falls, a bit cheaper but not much) but Tesco had a special offer on their wine and none of my favourites were included so I decided I would try something new.
What drew me to this bottle was I had previously tried one of the white wines they produce and remember it as being very nice, in for a penny in...

Ernest & Julio White Zinfandel
Advantages: Lovely taste, not too bad price, easy to drink
Disadvantages: bit too redish taste, alcohol content too low!
...I bought this wine from Tesco's although I have seen it available in many other shops. It was priced at £4.49 which is average for this bottle.
The wine is from the Sierra Valley region of California and bottle holds 75cl. There is a large range of Ernest & Julio Gallo wines, white rose and red.
The bottle is corked with a synthetic cork, which is always easier to remove.
It is recommended that you drink it chilled (6°-8°C) and can drink it along with a variety of foods. It is always best to take chilled still wines from the fridge, de-cork and leave for 15mins (with the cork reintroduced to the bottle) before drinking to give a more refined taste
Colour & Clarity
---------------------
The wine is a quite a deep coloured red and is transparent. I was surprised how deep the rose is and is closer to a red than a white wine...

Zippity Zinfandel !
Advantages: very drinkable , will suit most tastes
Disadvantages: maybe not for the wine buffs
...I found this wine in my local Sainsbury's store whilst trying to decide between a white and a red for the evening's consumption , and to be totally honest I bought it mainly out of curiosity and for the lovely soft , slightly coral/pink colour .
I have bought Sutter Home wines before as they are inexpensive at around £5 for a 75cl bottle , and the quality is more than adequate for an evening's casual drinking in front of a good DVD or your favourite TV programme .
Having said that , I hadn't ventured much into the White Zinfandel territory , preferring either a definite red or white to what I had considered " in between " option . But as I said , this particular day I was having another of my indecisive moments and decided to give it a try .
On opening the bottle the first thing I noticed was the very light aroma of blended...

Blossom hill white zinfandel - Yum!
Advantages: Tasty, not too over powering or vinegar like!
Disadvantages: its so nice you can drink the whole bottle without realising
...I just popped to my local conviance shop and they had a special offer on Blossom hill white zinfandel so i thought id try it.
I love my wines, but i find that some reds are too rich and some whites are too vinegar like, which is why i always lean toward a rose.
Blossom hill white zinfandel is a sweet, crisp, fruity wine. Its not over powering and its easy to enjoy. When you first take a mouthful its sweet, then after you swallow it has a slight 'kick'
There is a strong hint of strawberries and other fruits, and the crispyness that you associate with whites.
Its not overly expensive, but it tastes more than it cost! At my local supermarket (no names - no law suits!) it costs £4.50, which is very reasonable when you consider the flavour.
Some of my local pubs serve it, but i think this is a relatively new wine, as it can be...

White, Red or Pink
Advantages: Too easy to Drink
Disadvantages: Too easy to Drink!
...This is confusing. Red grape giving a pink wine that is called white! Confused - no need to be.
Blossom Hill are based in California which is the ideal location for growing the Zinfandel Grape. According to my research the Zinfandel grape is the most planted in California - mainly because it has plenty of fruit and ripens easily (i.e. the lazy buggers don't have to do as much work and can go surfing).
The funny thing is that the Zinfandel is a red grape. The white zinfandel is quite a new wine. It is actually a rose, the juice is drawn off before it's colour is tainted by the red skins. Its is then brewed in the same way as a white wine, hence the "White Zinfandel" label.
But what qualifies me to give an opinion on wine? There's nothing really by way of qualification although you could include years of drinking the stuff. By...

Blushing white wine
Advantages: cheap, fruity, light
Disadvantages: weak, low in alcohol
...Sutter home white is a Californian wine that is very popular in US and UK. It is the kind of wine that suits most tastes.
It is widely available in supermarkets and off licenses in UK.
I bought mine in our local co-op wine shop. It cost just 4.99 and I thought it was excellent value as a table wine.
Don't be misled by the colour, or the name. This white wine is a rose, so it's a very pale pink blush to it.
The alcohol content of this wine is just 9.5%, so it is not very strong compared to a full bodied French Burgundy at 13.5%. This is fine if you just want a table wine but might not suit those who want to 'have a party'.
The flavour is light, refreshing and fruity and it's the sort of wine that you can drink at the table, or just to relax with friends.
I prefer mine chilled but strictly speaking a rose wine...

Ernest & Julio Zinfandel - nicest rose wine
Advantages: Gorgeously fruity, extremely good value for money
Disadvantages: TOO easy to drink!!
...Ernest & Julio Gallo 2004 White Zinfandel.
I am not a complete wine expert but I do like my wine & generally tend to prefer a good red, however when introduced to this by a friend I seem to be converted.
This is such a nice wine to enjoy in the summer sun and is definately best served very chilled.
The Taste.
When you first open this bottle you get struck by a very fruity sweet scent and this comes across in the taste. It is a very light wine and fairly sweet, compliments white meat or a light meal extremely well, again, excellent for a hot summer day/evening. Although it is very easy to drink, its only about 9.5% alcohol volume so you wont get in too much trouble if you have a few extra glasses!
If you enjoy this wine on its own you get a real hint of the hidden fruity flavours inside, however it is a very easy wine to...

Sutter Home not Stagger home!
Advantages: Easy to drink and low in Calories!
Disadvantages: Not everyone likes Blush or Rose wine.
...Sipping a well chilled glass of wine should be an enjoyable experience for everyone who likes to sample this wonderful beverage. I personally like my wine both with meals and as a drink to enjoy while relaxing watching television, reading a book or enjoying a sunset in the garden. But recently the latter hasn?t been possible as we?ve had no sun, only rain and more rain!
As members of Costco we spent an hour or so filling to overflowing our shopping trolley and for those of you who do go, you will know there are samples around the store. We sampled popcorn, quiche and wine on Thursday! The wine was a white zinfandel and although I had heard of Sutter Home, we have never tried it, but I do like blush wines from other producers. But once home I had to rectify my scant knowledge and after enjoying a glass or two or three! I now want to...

The White Knight to the rescue on those wet summer days
Advantages: User friendly, light weight and good load capability
Disadvantages: C rated so not he most economical
...As most people in Britain own a washing machine, many, like me, probably struggle to get there washing dry, especially with the glorious sunshine and top quality weather that is constantly warming our cheery faces, (that was sarcasm by the way), so the invention of the clothes/tumble dryer was a god send.
So when my old dryer suddenly decided to stop blowing hot air, whilst also gaining a sort of stutter, I decided to go on the hunt for another similar one, coming across a brand called White Knight.
But, to add to my confusion, I discovered that there are several types of dryers, such as spin dryers, which simply spin the clothes inside so fast that they eventually dry.
Then there?s the condenser dryer, which passes warm air through the clothes and turns the heated air into water vapour sending the vapour into a storage hold, thus...
