Advantages: Interesting story, easy to read
Disadvantages: None for me

...It's been a relatively short space of time since Alan Carr first became prominent on our TV screens on Channel 4's The Friday Night Project, which he first hosted on the 6th January 2006 with co host Justin Lee Collins. The series itself had enjoyed an eight week run the previous year hosted by Jimmy Carr (no relation to Alan just a spooky coincidence) but for the second series Channel 4 wanted new presenters and amongst those chosen was Alan Carr. I suppose if you was Alan Carr then at this point you could quite smugly say "and the rest is history..." "Look Who it is!" published at the latter end of 2008, just in time for a Christmas stocking filler is Alan Carr's autobiography. Who? Mike JONES!

Advantages: Big hits
Disadvantages: Repetitive

...Mike Jones is a Houston-based rapper. He specializes in this the H-town style of rap which also involves 'Screwed and Chopped' in this style, the music is cut and jerked about, or at least it sounds like this to create an original sound. This style slows down the tracks and this album was brought out later with a second disc using the same tracks that are screwed and chopped. Many who do not listen to this music will think that the music has some digital glitches in them, but this is the effect that they are trying to create. "Who is Mike Jones?" is the debut solo album from this album. He chose to give it this title due to his name being so regular, its very common in America. This album was recored in 2004, but it wasn't until late in 2005 when it was released by Swishahouse. Jones' Swishahouse label mates feature on this album...

YOU'LL KNOW WHO SHE IS SOON ENOUGH!

Advantages: immensely readable, great characters
Disadvantages: a tad unrealistic and too many coincidences

...There are times when you read a book and need to completely suspend your disbelief about the many coincidences, and you totally resent doing so. But there are other times when the book is so damn good anyway that you don't actually mind doing so - perhaps you even welcome it. I have always loved Alexandra Potter's books (with the exception of her last novel "Me and Mr Darcy, which I only LIKED) so I was glad to find that her latest novel "Who's That Girl?" thankfully fell into the latter category. It is the story of Charlotte, a successful businesswoman. On the surface, she seems to have everything - her own thriving PR business (it IS odd how many chick-lit heroines have careers in that particular field, isn't it?), great body and a great-on-paper boyfriend. Advantages: superb voice
Disadvantages: may not be everyone's cup of tea

A bit hit, I think its poignancy struck a chord with many people, and it is one of those songs that you find yourself humming on the way to work. One of her finest songs to date, I reckon? 10/10 'Shape Of You' --------------- Another slowie this one, in a very similar mould to 'Shoulda Woulda Coulda', with the song revolving around Knight's vocals. Another song about her break-up, it is a bit less intense than the previous track. Whilst many British RnB acts choose to imitate an American style of production, Beverley's sound remains very British, and this song demonstrates that fact. ...Who's that Girl? Jill Scott. Who is She? That's the question everybody is asking. And based on her album, Who Is Jill Scott?, I just gotta say, she's a damn great soul singer. Or is it a damn great jazz singer, or a damn great R&B artist? Or poet. Well, actually all of the above. This is the second great R&B album I have listened to in a while, the last being Lucy Pearl's self-titled debut from last year. Who Is? is a great collection of poetic R&B slices with jazz funk inspiration and Jill's hip hop influences. What a mix of smooth hip-hop / R&B and the finest jazz from her chosen listening (or 'homework' as she called it) Anita Barker, Etta Fitzgerald, Etta James. A great singer. Who's book is it anyway?
