Whooping it up at Whoop Hall

...My two friends and I recently ventured on a Murder Mystery weekend. We went to the strangely named Whoop Hall. For three months before our stay we were making jokes about ?Whooping it up at Whoop Hall? and generally being stupid, we felt really stupid when we found out its actually pronounced ?hoop? not ?whoop?. The Whoop Hall is a family run hotel just outside of Kirkby Lonsdale in the Lune Valley of the Lake District. Close to the M6, situated where the Lake District, Yorkshire and Lancashire meet. It?s only fifteen minutes from Kendal and its famous yummy mint cake. Well it is if you aren?t us, we followed an AA route map thing done on the Internet, which took us to some weird and wonderful places. Whoops! I did it again!!

Advantages: Great story with a moral to it!
Disadvantages: None at all!!

...transport Ellie the elephant back to elephant land! Now Soren Lorensen is so, so persuasive that Lola climbs up high, reaches up for the rocket and ?WHOOPS!? drops it and it breaks in to tiny little pieces. Charlie returns and is understandably furious. Lola denies breaking it and Charlie shouts even louder, she even blames Soren Lorensen and comes up with an tale as imaginative as her friend! Charlie threatens to tell Mum and at this point, Lola and Soren realise that it may be best to tell the truth and to say sorry and that is exactly what she does. Charlie accepts her apology as he realises that she truly is sorry and is at least telling the truth! Charlie repairs the rocket and ends with ?Don?t touch it!? It is then up to the reader to decide whether or not Lola would touch it again or has she learned her lesson...

...does this store shape up in my opinion? I love the clothing range for starters! The kitchenware and linen department is great too as is the multi media aisle. However I am not to keen on the fresh foods or deli. I think for the size of the store the selection of food on offer is poor and not always of the best quality either. The layout of this branch leaves a lot to be desired .I fail to understand the think behind placing naan bread in 3 different places for example! The staff seem equally confused too. Asda reduce items that are going out of date like other supermarkets with their whoops labels! However there are baskets of whoops items randomly placed all over the store and I could see no pattern to this. Perhaps the staff find the layout as confusing as I do! So what?s the overall verdict? Well Asda certainly are keenly priced...

...'Whoops! But it wasn't me' is another book in the delightful Charlie and Lola series. My girls and I first got to know Charlie and Lola through the wonderful animated programmes shown on the cbeebies channel. All of the books are equally wonderfully and thoroughly enjoyed by both my daughters. When we read 'Whoops! But it wasn't me' we weren't disappointed. Charlie and Lola are brother and sister - Charlie is the older, more sensible and wise boy whereas Lola could probably be classed as an inquisitive but loveable nuisance! In this story, Charlie is very proud of an amazing rocket he has built out of all sorts of recyclable things. While he goes out to play, he tells Lola that above all else, she must not touch it as it is highly breakable. That, to any young inquisitive child really sounds like an invitation to touch it which is...

Yes... I am a little anxious to whoop ET's ass!

Advantages: Huge huge special effects and amazing explosions
Disadvantages: I love America...just a bit too much!

...is a highly enjoyable film with huge amounts of action. In some Muslim countries the film was heavily edited, removing the pro jewish elements....such was the effect of this film! There are some really great moments in this film. The initial battle when the American pilots get their assess well and truly kicked...to the President flying into battle having one last shot 'come on come on come on....' you are hanging on the edge of your seat and I defy anyone to whoop at the good bits! There are also plenty of odgy bits...the cigar chomping in space for one....and isnt it just so great that a highly advanced alien species use 56k modems! Anyhow...that aside the film was a blockbuster and is a great frolic. Seeing the White House blow up is also a huge amount of fun! Summary: Watch this and then listen to the Radio One dramatisation...

Whoops I did it again

Advantages: Great selection of very low priced food and household goods
Disadvantages: Poor bakery

...there are only TWO changing cubicles! Moving on, we bought a CD player for £39.99 on Sunday, and some great CDs - a Beatles greatest hits album for £7.98, and Now That's What I Call Music 48 for my daughter, for £6.98, which she is playing to death (why are 4 year olds like teenagers these days?). We bought two lights for our bedside tables for £3.99 each, which are exactly what we wanted, and as for the food! Asda does good quality food at brilliant prices. Their range of ready meals is superb, and takes some beating for taste. If you scout around you will soon come across a lot of items with the famous "Whoops" sticker on - go for these - they will have a substantial reduction on them. One department where Asda lets itself down however is the bakery. The bread is tasty and reasonably priced, but even Morrisons has...

Whoops - here's a slip on the conscience

...I saw this one and had to do it - sorry another challange op!!! 1.You've just cooked dinner for your four friends, when disaster strikes and you drop the chicken on the kitchen floor. Before you can stop him, the dog dashes in and licks it, but you get it away before he can do anything else. You have nothing else to cook. Do you own up, or do you serve the chicken up for tea? You're vegetarian anyway. Well this depends on how much I like the friends...if I wish them to never darken my doorway again then I would wait until they're half way through my lovely meal before saying "Whoops I should have warned you..." If they are good friends then I'd pick up the meal dust it off and serve it up with extra sauce!!! Well what they don't know can't hurt them - can it!!!? Well I never said I was a good friend did I and what's the disaster...
