BUSH 27" WIDESCREEN LCD TV
Advantages: nice flat screen, sharp clear picture
Disadvantages: can the cat knock it over? not hd ready?
...end of line 27" widescreen lcd flat television and just had to buy it. The only trouble was, that being end of line meant that you could not order it for delivery, so I did a search of all my local stores until I found one and we reserved it for collection the next day.
My husband came home with the tv, we unpacked it and installed it so easily, it was a dream.
The Techinical description of this television in the Argos catalogue is Bush LCD27TV005 27in Widescreen LCD TV.
The Argos order number is: 529/2150 and we paid £399.99. From what I have read online, this television was retailing at around £600 originially, but at the moment, all of the LCD televisions seem to be 26 or 30/32 inches, so it looks like they are phasing out the 27" ones.
The television is silver in colour and the speakers are each end of the television...

Freeview - The TV Service Of The Future.
Advantages: More Choice, Better Quality, Radio & Interactive Services
Disadvantages: Only covers 74% of the UK
...and in October of next year Whitehaven will have completed its DSO.
However, its not all that scary. Digital Television is not about confusing buttons, dialogues and hefty remotes; in fact there is no need to be scared - Digital Television can truly be as simple, if not simpler than your current analogue television. For a one of payment, usually from as little as £30 you can purchase a Freeview receiver which will connect to your current TV as long as it has a scart socket and a good analogue reception. Freeview can currently be received by an estimated 74% percent of UK homes and this figure is the maximum capacity which can be achieved until DSO is complete in 2012 when the government estimates that 98.5% of UK homes should be able to receive Freeview. The best way to determine whether or not you should be able to receive Freeview...

Bush LCD 32TV016
Advantages: Good picture quality
Disadvantages: None
...hd ready, I don't have hd sky or a blu-ray player, I'm quite impressed. There are a number of contrast settings on this so if you are watching a show that was filmed in poorer quality you can alter the settings so that it looks clearer.
There are also a few audio settings which can give the sound a better feel and improve the atmospehere when watching films. I'm currently looking for a nice surround sound package to team up with this television, once I do, I think my entertainment system will be devastating.
The option that I really like is that you can split the screens between two inputs. In essence, you can watch two channels at once. I've managed to get this going with my sky and the tv's built in freeview when two football matches were on but have yet attempted to do it with a dvd and another input. I guess this does have fairly...

lcd tv, dvd and freeview for under £300!!!!
Advantages: stylish, multi-purpose product
Disadvantages: 1 scart,
...My old crt 28 inch widescreen finally packed up after a good run of viewing years.
Being left without a tv (and no second set) for a few days, i decided i needed a tv FAST! I only paid £120 (bargain of the year for me) for my old 28inch. I knew i would have to spend more than that this time around, but was looking to only spend around £250 max, as i am on a shoestring budget at them moment :(
I wanted a 28 inch, 26 at the least, but could not find one that fitted in with my budget, you were looking at about £499 minimum for a fairly decent brand. There was one tv that was larger than this one, but when you looked at the product details, ie contrast ratio, resolution etc it was inferior to the same specifications on the umc.
Ih the past i have bought cheap unbranded tv's, and they have not lasted more than 2-3 years, so i did not...

Freeview
Advantages: good amount of channels
Disadvantages: need a good aerial
...Freeview is a supplier of Digital TV within the United Kingdom which requires no subscription, and no annual contract
History of Freeview
Freeview was originally launched on October 2002 at 6am, after it took over the DTT licence to broadcast on the 3 multiplexes which were from the defunct ITV digital service, and ONdigital. As part of a survey, undertaken in 2007, it was revealed that over 36% of the UK were receiving freeview, as a source of their digital TV.
In the future, High definition programming is expected to launch on the freeview platform
Equipment
There are various different set top boxes available, which acts as a freeview receiver. The price of these varies, some as cheap as £10!
However, nowadays, freeview offer a new type of set top box, called FREEVIEW PLAYBACK, which enables you to pause, rewind...

Freeview - Jump Before You're Pushed
Advantages: Just one up-front cost. No subs. Extra channels. Proper widescreen output
Disadvantages: Needs a good aerial. A limited list of subscription channels muddies the waters somewhat.
...existed before, even via an aerial, and OnDigital, later ITV Digital (and then OnDigital again*) were the first to try this.
Their offering was a mixture of free-to-air (e.g. BBC and ITV channels) and subscription channels, like Sky One. There were even a handful of pay-TV movie channels, although compared to Sky's Box Office, with the same movie starting every 30 minutes on a clutch of channels, this facility was definitely the poor relation.
*They changed it back to OnDigital once the receivers were called in to save the 'good names' of Carlton and Granada. Good name?!
Anyway, the fact that OnDigital folded in a spectacular manner is well documented.
I guess Freeview could be called 'son of On', but with a few major changes.
One, there were less channels, which gave the launch of Freeview a boost in picture quality allowing...

Let's sing the praises of Samsung LCD TV
Advantages: Saves space, good picture, built in freeview
Disadvantages: HD broadcasts not out yet, need a HD ready DVD player too
...parent and they'll be in the know! It's CBeebies which provides children's television from 6 a.m till 7 p.m. Now I know it's not the same as watching that freaky doll image that used to keep us entertained as a child ( I'm sure she used to change expression) but it is a life saver for parents. I try to restrict my childs intake but when you are making dinner and you have 2 under 3 year olds getting up to mischieve, CBeebies is a winner. Apart from that Freeview has Sky Sports News which I have on when I'm given a moment of peace. It's a good added bonus freeview and as it is inbuilt you don't need to have any extra boxes.
*** Keeping up Appearances ***
This tv comes with its own stand and it fits snugly on our mantelpiece at home. However you can purchase a wall mount for about an extra £100. It is surprisingly heavy despite its...

Bush 26" LCD TV
Advantages: Cheap.hdready,small
Disadvantages: no freeview built in,pip dont work
...I bought this tv off Ebay it was used but in good condition i paid £220 for it.I love the design of it with the speakers on the side nice silver look.
The tv has vga port,dvi,hdmi,2 scart sockets, pc audio and svideo.the things that this tv is really lacking is built in freeview would make it a lot better,USB or memory card ports i have seen these on many new tvs if this was available on thiis tv model maybe more people would be interested in it.The TV is also missing digital audio out but i wouldnt really use that anyway.
This nice small tv handles the playstation 3 on 720p perfect looks sweet better than my last tv.the colours look so rich and the sound is very good quality.the speakers can go very loud and they never make that noise when speakers cant handle it any louder.
the buttons for the TV are placed on the right side...

Freeview
Advantages: Free TV Guide, Exellent Picture Quality, No Subscription
Disadvantages: Needs a digital aerial (£20-£30)
...stations as Radio 1 Xtra, BBC 5 Live Sports Extra, BBC Radio 6 + 7, BBC Asian Network and BBC World Service. It also provides Kiss, Smash Hits Radio, Mojo, Heat, Kerrang, Q and more. I think that the digital radio is great because before I would normally recieve some interfearance when listening to the radio, but now I do not at all. I also receive additional stations which offer a wider variety to what I can listen to.
You do not need any different type of TV to recieve Freeview, I have my Freeview box linked up to my portable TV in my bedroom and recieve the same features that you would recieve from a Widescreen TV, so if you are worried that it will not work on your TV, Don't!
Overall, if you consider that you only have to pay around £60 - £80 for your reciever and you benift from all the above you will understand how good Freeview...
