Not overly wild about The Wild!

Advantages: A generally nice animated film
Disadvantages: Lacks orignality, and it's no Monsters Inc!

...We were meant to be going to a party last night, but unfortunately it was cancelled. Hubby and I went onto plan B - DVDs, pizza and a bottle of vodka and diet coke! We went to Blockbusters and bought DVDs from the 3 for £20 range of ex-rentals (therefore costing £6.66 per DVD). We bought 3 each, and one of my 3 was "The Wild" - Disney's 46th Animated Classic (according to the DVD box). In general hubby and I love animated films - I had heard some not so good comments about this film, but I was prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt. Review of The Wild (DVD)

A Mildly Wild Child

Advantages: A glossy addition to the teen movie genre.
Disadvantages: It's hardly original.

...a grab bag of recent hits such as Rihanna's "Shut Up and Drive", Nelly Furtado's "Say it Right" and Adele's "Chasing Pavements" which fit the target audience and style of the movie. But the girly version of Christopher Otcasek's "Real Wild Child" is a crime against music. "Wild Child" is a film that will find its greatest favour with its intended demographic of young teens. It's a fun stab at the teen movie genre with enough action and non-threatening totty to entertain all but the most jaded fourteen year-old girl. The performances are also lively enough to stop accompanying adults nodding off. It is by no means original, but I have seen far worse versions of similar stories and it may become something of a guilty pleasure on DVD....

Will Goes Wild!

Advantages: good fun story, good acting
Disadvantages: Bit far fetched at times

...The Wild Wild West is set in 1869 in America. Will Smith plays the role of a special government agent, James West who is teamed up with Artemus Gordon, played by Kevin Kline. The two men do not see eye to eye as West does not like all of the fancy gadget and new inventions which Gordon uses, he is more into the good old fashioned ways. The pair are given a job of finding out where all of the Scientists have been kidnapped to and why they have been taken, they are given this job by President Grant and along with the job comes a train which will be ready to take them wherever they want. Advantages: Beautifully poignant stories
Disadvantages: Maybe too moral, and a little sad

...I never really saw Oscar Wilde as a children?s author, sure a wit, a raconteur, an author, playwright and a notorious man about town but a children?s author no. I was given a book by my wife Oscar Wildes Stories for Children and I wasn?t sure. What immediately caught my eye was the beautiful illustrations by P.J Lynch, delicate, rich and totally fitting to the stories. Then I read the first story in the set was ?The Selfish Giant.? It is wonderful, I?m sure I couldn?t do justice to it myself but Wilde weaves words so well it appeals to both children, my 3 and a half year old is rapt, and adults equally well, with little witty comments peppered about. Wild child

Advantages: light hearted fun
Disadvantages: not for guys!

...Wild Child is the teen rom-com released August 15th 2008 starring Emma Roberts (Julia Robert's niece) & the star of previous film Nancy Drew & Nickelodeon show Unfabulous. Wild Child - Great Fun For Girls!!!

Advantages: Great movie for teens - some good one liners.
Disadvantages: Maybe a bit too girly?? Therefor limited audience.

Go WILD with furry animals!

Advantages: Laughter for the whole family
Disadvantages: Can't think of any, maybe a weak story-line?

I bought this because I love the new animated stuff such as Madagascar, and the Ice Age, I am hoping to get many of the others, and I remember one I really wanted but I cannot remember the title, something like buck, zino and the uglies, but I'm not too sure, can anyone help me? Anyway the plot is that a lion and a cub have a big argument, and the cub, accidentally, gets shipped away to an island. And the lion and all his laugh out loud furry friends help him find the cub. But they soon discover the New York City, itself, is the biggest craziest jungle of all. The wild is a funny family film, that'll leave the whole family in stitches. I fell in love with Larry straight away, who seriously can't love him? He's hilarious. I don't know why but I don't feel up to writing this review...

Wild West Pinball

Advantages: Addictive

...So, here's another iPhone Application for your approval...and it is of course free! It's the Wild West Pinball game. (Waits for applause...) Being a free game from the manufacturers, OOOGameprom, you may not expect much from it...but low and behold, you'll soon find yourself addicted. The old ones are the best and all that! Now, unless you've had your head in the sand forever then you'll all know the concept of pinball. Using the paddles at the bottom of the table to smack the ball around in an attempt to collect points by hitting various parts of the table or making the ball travel in various spaces. Advantages: Fun night out, cheap drinks

...One of the evenings on our trip to Banff was spent in Wild Bill?s. This was somewhere that Mr Tart had visited on a previous trip and he really wanted to return there. LOCATION: Wild Bill?s is located at 137 Banff Avenue, right in the centre of the town. The entrance is quite small because the bar itself is located above a load of shops, but there is a sign outside. THE EXPERIENCE: We booked our table because we were going on one of the nights that the band was playing, however I?m not sure that this was necessary as the place had quite a lot of space when we arrived. Wild Thing!

Advantages: Classic book.
Disadvantages: Expensive.

...Being keen to start building up a library of books for my son from an early age, I turned to some of the classics I enjoyed as a child (probably more for my own gratification than anything else!).
