...Paradise Wildlife Park is situated in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire. It is easy to get to by car (junction 25 off the M25) and is well signed up. The park have also set up a free shuttle service from Broxbourne train station to Paradise Wildlife park - just call the park when you arrive at the station and they'll come and collect you in a mini bus! The park is open all year round (March - October: 9.30am - 6.00pm. November - February: 10am - 5pm). ...It's not very often a new animal park opens in your local town. I was quite excited to see the bus advertisement stating 'new for 2009 - The Yorkshire Wildlife Park'. I had a look into it and found it was located a few miles away so we decided to give it a visit. The park opened on the 4th April 2009 and our visit was made on Sunday the 26th of the same month. Being from the area, I assumed I knew exactly how to get to the park from the name of the area of Doncaster - Branton. What I should have noted was the directions on the website as the way we went was a bit of a sneak through some private land! So make sure you check the directions carefully! After 'finding' the park we pulled into the free car park. This did seem a bit like some spare land that had been utilised, as there were electrical pylons scattered amongst the area...

Inside the reserve it features streams, ponds, hills and gullies that have been created and developed over the years. A special feature is the old bush settlement, which gives visitors an interesting insight into what life was like for early settlers in New Zealand. When you first go into the reserve there is an area called the forest wetlands which has been extensively vegetated and provides shelter and breeding sites for a range of waterfowl. A Wonderful Wildlife Encounter

...The next stop on my review-tour of the Isle of Wight is Seaview Wildlife Encounter. Formerly known as The Flamingo Park, the wildlife encounter is located in the sunny seaside town of Seaview. I've visited twice in the last few years, and it is a great day out. **About the Park & Location** Seaview is on the Eastern side of the Island, not far from Ryde up the coast, and Sandown down the coast. The park's main attraction was, for some years, its collection of Flamingo's, hence the name. However, I believe the name was changed a couple of years ago to Seaview Wildlife Encounter, so that it's clear that it is not only flamingo's there. My Favourite Wildlife in The Galapagos

...My Favourite Wildlife on the Galapagos Islands. I decided I would write about the wildlife on these Islands as the wildlife on these islands is like nothing else to be found in the world. Blue Footed Booby. We first encountered these birds at Punta Suarez on Espanola where there is quite a colony of them. The name Booby comes from the Spanish term ?bobo? which means stupid fellow. They certainly look real silly when they dance during courtship and mating which we saw them do. The birds are mainly white feathered with blue feet. The male bird stomps his lovely blue feet trying to impress the female and whilst dancing spreading his wings and squawking at her. The female copied him, also squawking back so it was like watching a mirror image. I guess it was her way of saying ?you?ve pulled mate!? These birds are much bigger than...

The Wildlife Diaries - DVD

Advantages: See stuff that you wouldn't normally see.
Disadvantages: The music and narrator are poor.

...The difference with this DVD and others is that the cast of the show is the African Wildlife. There are no big name presenters just a norrater who is telling what and why the animals are doing. There are few points i want to share with you without giving the whole plot away. Unlike most other animal documentaries they have a team of vets which do step in and help the animals which i find quiet strange as on the box i states the scriptwriter is mother nature! I know it's cruel and hand of heart i would probably find it hard not trying to help animals in danger but in animal documentaries surely you have to film and show the public the true circle of life!? But then on the other hand i will point out a good reason when they did get involved, they found a young male leopard dead so they took it back to teh lab to try and find...
