The store is very well setout and always able to find the thing you need without any trouble. I am disabled and the help that is offered to me is unbeatable, plus the store is easy to negotiate. If I need somethingI cannot see it is no problem for the staff to go to the stock room. I recommend Wilkinsonstores to anyone, they are next to none. The prices are good, but in some cases can be beaten, but if you can find cheaper they will refund the differece, plus if you return goods just becase you have changed your mind or had second thoughts they will refund your money without question. ...I have just returned from my local Wilkinsons which has inspired me to write a little ode to this most eclectic of stores.
I became a regular Wilkinsons' customer after moving away from home to attend university.
Having to furnish my new student accommodation, I looked around the (fortunately many) local furniture, appliances, etc, stores and realised that Wilkinsons offered an enormous variety for the lowest prices.
It has almost everything:
- DIY tools, accessories, materials
- Furniture (for home and garden)
- Home appliances
- Home furnishings/decorative items: curtains, duvets, pillows, mirrors, photo frames, lamps, scented candles, vases...

Advantages: good prices, good value , good range Disadvantages: None that spring to mind
...There are not too many General Stores about these days but one that stands out for quality and value is undoubtedly Wilkinsons mor affectionately known as WILCO'S.
Here you will find a whole range of goods from household cleaning materials to bubble bath and gardening products to pet food. In fact you can buy just about anything for the home, family or garden from here.
Wilkinson's can be compared to how Woolworth's were a few years ago and shopping there is a truely pleasurable experience.
I regularly purchase goods from them and have no complaints about the quality or price. They are competetive in price with other local retailers and you will always find a bargain there.
Wilkinsonsstores are springing up all around now, until they built their Chelmsford Store friends of mine regularly made the trek to Harlow to shop...

...Wilco's is one of the best stores in our city in my opinion. You can pick up almost anything that you want to.
I don't think it is a cheap and tacky shop. It is well laid out and they sell major brand names at considerable discounts to supermarkets and other stores.
I cook a lot and I have tried out some of their own brand bakeware and I have found them to be good quality at a fraction of the cost of the expensive brands. Paracetamol, rennies and other medicinal things that I buy from there are particularly good value. So are womens sanitary items.
Customer Services are always helpful (my small son dropped his hat in store, left my details and they phoned me later that week to say that the cleaner had found it).
One thing that I did buy a lot of instore was their stencils, brushes and acrylic paints as I am painting...

...Well where can i start. It must of been about 5 years now when Wilkinson's first opened up in my city centre, and ever since I've been addicted.
I go in even though I don't need anything, but just to have a look. I've already seen almost everything there is to be seen but yet every time i walk past the store, I here a voice calling out to me saying, come inside of me lol. Well no I'm not insane but not to far away from it.
I love to see the Christmas decorations and the music is always fitting. The layout of the store is good and smell's fresh. There is a wide range of products and what I love is a nice gardening section.
The staff and friendly and always willing to give any help or advise. This is a store not restricted by just 5 products. It's got everything from your DIY, hardware, tools, decorating equipment, perfumes...

...I was desperately needing some storage boxes for under my bed and saw some for £3 each in Wilkinsons. Although they were great value, I knew that I needed around six of them, and as I don't have a car the thought of lugging six huge plastic boxes home on the bus put me off buying them. ...When I first went into a wilkinsonstore about 2 years ago I thought it was going to be full of cheap junk, however to my surprise as I walked through the door I was greeted by a friendly member of staff and a toiletries section with very good prices, I carried on round the store, I was actually after some windscreen washer for the car but I couldn't find it so I went to the help desk and asked where abouts it was kept and the girl on there got another member of staff to walk me accross to the product to save me time.
Ever since that day I have found it a pleasure to shop at wilkinson. There prices are always lower than my local supermarket, the staff are much friendlier and always happy to advise or simply take you to a product.
What ever it is you are after wilkinson probably have it. They stock everything from car care, toiletries...

Whenever I go shopping into my local town, I can never seem to leave for home without dropping into Wilkinsonsstore and coming out with arms full of bags with items I probably didn't even need, though sometimes a bargain is too much to say no to. It might then come as a surprise that it wasn't until recently that I found out that there was an online store! With a 6 month old baby daughter, shopping online sometimes seems a lot easier, so almost straight away I started browsing and filling the basket (much to my husbands annoyance!).
