From Now On-Will Young

Advantages: Vocally very impressive and strong.
Disadvantages: Musically & lyrically this album is pants!At best it is generic pop that really doesnt stand out.

...In 2002 British singer Will Young became the winner of Pop Idol. Soon, his debut single "Anything Is Possible/Evergreen," released on February 25, 2002, became the fastest-selling single in the U.K. Of course this doesn't mean it's any good. In fact, other than Will Young's voice being really lovely, the song (lyrically and musically) is poor. Although I am not a fan of Young's, my mother is so I will try to be kind about him. As a person I find him to be really interesting and I believe that he is genuinely a nice bloke (or at least that's how he comes across in interviews). I also do really like his voice, which has a really innocent soulful quality. IN my opinion this album is the worst and after this they do get better. Disadvantages: Expensive Merchandising, Huge Queues everywhere!

...Last night was one of the best nights I have had in ages, and it was all down to one man, Mr Will Young. After seeing Will 3 times last year and twice the year before I thought to myself that nothing he could do could make the night as good as previous times, but how wrong could I be. Shrewsbury Quarry was the venue, set in a beautiful country park. We arrived at Shrewsbury (after getting lost) at around 4.45pm when we got there the queue wasn't to big so we plonked our bottoms down on the pavement and prepared for a hour and a quarter wait until they opened the gates. Whilst we were waiting we could hear will rehearsing in the background then we heard his support act rehearsing. Finally after a few bottles and butties they open the gates. ...I have loved Will Young since his rendition of The Doors 'Light My Fire' on Pop Idol! My little boy would go to sleep to 'Evergreen' so it was a perfect excuse to have him playing all the time!. I love his free style and his voice just makes me swoon! At Christmas, when I was watching Will on World Idol, I actually had to put down my drink, whilst watching him! Yep, I ve got it bad!!! I asked my brother for 'Fridays Child' specifically for Christmas. You know what brothers are like! I didnt want to end up with something I hated!! I didnt love it straight away! I found it quite hard to get into. Its very orchestral so quite heavy if you are not used to it. Youget the chance to chill or really get down to the groove! I do not have Wills first album as I wasnt too keen on his early released stuff! I liked Evergreen...

Young's heart runs free....

Advantages: Chilled, grown up, amazing voice

...There is a certain vicarious thrill of ownership one can experience in watching someone struggle from obscurity to learn, grow and attain their true individuality and potential, know what I mean? And that is exactly how I felt when listening to Friday's Child. In his second album, Pop Idol winner Will Young has become the artist I hoped he would be. He has thrown off the shackles of reality tv stardom, and the grip of the pop supremos who probably thought they could control him, and is comfortable in his own skin. And he shines. After the disappointment of From Now On (more the hasty, milk-it-while-it's-hot Pop Idol winner's album than a Will Young album), Friday's Child is a true display of talent and a wonderfully distinctive voice. He WILL be Mine!!! (well a girl can dream)

Advantages: Amazing vocals and performance, great extras...i could go on forever

...Now everyone who knew me from my last account knows that there are 3 things that I am obsessed with, Number 1 is Wrestling. I'm a massive wwe fan. Number 2 is Darren Hayes. For all who don't know who he is, he's the fella from Savage garden. And finally Number 3 is Mr William Young??Yes I know they are both Gay and you could argue that the wrestlers are as well but hey I can dream. Well Anyway, I went to watch Will Young 5 times in concert last year and twice this year up to yet. One of the concerts that I went to last year was a part of his Arena tour. I went to the Manchester show, but the whole set and show was exactly the same as the London gig, which is were this DVD is filmed. THE PACKAGING ******************** The Box isn't like a normal hard cased DVD box it's a cardboard case, on the front is a beautiful picture...

...this dvd really is a must have.It shows brilliant close-up footage of will young at his sexiest during his 2002 concert. the vocals are amazing,and it includes as yet un-released songs, including the brilliant 'ticket to ride' a great soul sound co-written by will himself.and his version of the classic 'signed, sealed,delivered' song has got to be heard! truly outstanding! as well as the hour long live concert, the dvd also contains 20 minutes bonus backstage footage of will during his sell out tour.in this dvd will shows off his outstanding vocal talents to a tee, and he is so obviously born to perform on stage and appears very relaxed and really knows how to work the crowds.his 'dirty dancing' in a raunchy duet performed with zoe birkett should not be missed!! the video also features many songs off his first album, and will shines...

Will's Got Wings and He Can Fly

Advantages: Fresh, orginal, fantastic voice

...Thank you ?Pop Idol' for blessing us with the talent that is Will Young. Thank God it wasn't the annoying, relying on sympathy votes G-G-Gareth Gates or sly, cheesy Daruis Danesh that won the UK's first ever 'Pop Idol' and thank God that for once the nation woke up and voted for the underdog and the only one with talent. I remember my mum first took notice of Will when he sang a cover of The Doors' 'Light My Fire' during one of the heats. 'If there's any justice, he will win.' she declared - but it wasn't until the next week when he covered Bill Withers' 'Ain't No Sunshine' (One of my favourites!) that I realised that this guy could actually WIN. ...As a huge Will young fan, I have decided to be impartial in this review. Will is finally back with a long awaited 3rd album, and he certainly hasn't disappointed me, although there are a few weak links on the album, overall it is really strong. Wills first album From Now On went platinum within weeks of its release and Fridays Child his second Album is now 5 x Platinum. Both albums reached number one in the Album Charts This album reached number 2 in the charts before its release from pre-sale orders. The Pop Idol winner is now a fully-fledged Artist, and the critic's cant deny it. Nobody would have blamed Will for a half-hearted album. He has had a busy year, with the making of his new film Mrs Henderson Presents, Starring Judy Dench and Bob Hoskins and his struggles with depression over the past few years, Will seems a lot happier...

...Will Young firs came to our attention when he won Pop Idol but I must admit that I wasn?t really that into him. My mum however quite liked his music and so how or another his album Friday?s Child has found it?s way into my collection list and onto my review list.
