...Hurting distance is a book I bought from Amazon because of the reviews on here, and it seemed like my kind of book. It has rape, murder, mystery and two women whom it appears do not know the meaning of truth...which led me to believe that it would be a fairly gripping book...yes, I have a morbid taste in books. ...Hurting Distance - Sophie Hannah I bought this book at my local Tesco on a buy two for £7.00 deal and it was well worth it. I'm an avid reader and have read about 12 books this month of all different types. I tend to pick books by reading the back cover and then the first page and if it grips me immediately then I can't leave it behind. The back of this book says "Three years ago, something terrible happened to Naomi Jenkins - so terrible she never told anyone" and the first page is an email she has written to a website called "Speak out and Survive"; you know then from the first page what Naomi's secret is, she's been raped. No I'm not giving the plot away, far from it, that's what I thought as well when I read it. I then though oh well; I'll give it a go anyway. The next chapter is about a man she is deeply in love...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. ...In his poems, William Blake has a number of underlying messages riddled in them. He seems to agree and disagree with certain things in a number of his poems which I will now discuss. In Songs of Experience, the poem called The Garden of Love shows some of the things that Blake seems to disagree with. In The Garden of Love I believe Blake tries to convey that as a child grows up things change. He seems to think that these changes are bad, for example the chapel replaced his childhood green where he had played and instead of flowers on the green, tombstones in a graveyard. ...Shellac, if you didn't know, are the musical project of three producers named Todd Trainer (drums), Bob Weston (bass + vocals) and Steve Albini (guitar + vocals). All three of them are hugely touted amongst the underground and have put their names to consistently excellently sounding records, but if you're not familiar with these obscure records you're not likely to have heard of them. Steve Albini on the other hand, has lent his hand to records like "In Utero" by Nirvana, Bush's "Razorblade Suitcase" and many other famous names. If you're familiar with Albini's production style (raw, dirty, distinctly Pro-Tools free), then Shellac's sound won't surprise you one bit.
