Wilson Ksix-one tour tennes racket
Advantages: Good control racket
Disadvantages: Heavy racket
...Roger Federer's racket for the tour, the one he has been using from the Australian Open 2007 onwards.
The racket comes from Wilson. When I play with this racket, I found that the racket swings through just a bit quicker than the nSix One Tour (the old style racket). It gave the impression of being a bit more aerodynamic through the air, both for groundstrokes and serves, thus adding power.
The string bed seeemed to give more bite on the ball which gave more potential for spin & control.
Conclusion: If you have the ability to cope with a heavy racket, then you will definately get more power and control from your game.
Would suit all advanced players or extreme hard hitters.
Wilson are always my racket of choice from the first time I pickd up the original pro staff tour (Sampras's racket of choice)...

ANYONE FOR MONKEY TENNIS?
Advantages: Fun, Easy to pick up
Disadvantages: None of note
...Tennis; not a sport I particularly enjoy watching, and certainly not a sport I?ve ever considered donning my finest Fred Perry and participating in, so any console game based on the racket sport was always going to face an uphill task trying to engage me. Sega Superstar Tennis nearly didn?t deliver; I first played it last year, but getting beaten twice in quick succession and not being bothered to read the instructions and learn the controls meant I tossed it aside after half an hour of random joypad jiggery. Luckily, somebody I know started to extol its virtues as a good, fun and engaging game ? so I thought I?d better slip it back into the Xbox 360?s disk drive for a second outing. And I have to say I?m glad I did; five minutes browsing the instruction booklet and familiarizing myself with the games controls and I was away, lobbing...

Virtua Tennis 2009
Advantages: Mini-games, Trophy Collecting Opportunity
Disadvantages: Online, Graphics, Career Mode, Stumbling
...I've always preferred the more Arcade-ish Virtua Tennis to the more tennis sim game Top Spin, so when Virtua Tennis 2009 was released I bought it on the release date.
- Gameplay -
The gameplay is virtually identical to the original Virtua Tennis, with the main change being instead if diving for a shot just out of reach - you now stumble at it.
There is no flat shot, which leaves with only slice, top spin or lob - which is a bit disappointing.
It's very easy to get the hang of the game, as all you have to do is either use the directional buttons or the analogue stick to get you to the ball then press one of the action buttons to hit it. You don't have to get your timing perfect or anywhere near it, but if you do you will play a better show.
- Graphics -
The graphics in this game are shocking...

A Smashing Tennis Title
Advantages: Simple to pick up, plenty of characters to play as, multiplayer
Disadvantages: Not so great on your own
...with getting the Grand Slam. There's no real rewards as such for gaining the Grand Slam sadly.
GAME, SET & MATCH
Male and female can compete against each other, and there are numerous characters to play as. The game does not say what the character's strengths and weaknesses are, but these become apparent. Shot selection; exploit the opposition's weakness with your character's strengths; play the percentages. Smash Tennis is simple to pick up, and despite it's cute looks, it really does play a mean game of tennis. Especially in multiplayer....

Anyone for Tennis?
Advantages: fun, keeps your fit, wimbledon!
Disadvantages: more individual then team sport,
...Think Tennis and Wimbledon and strawberries and cream are one of the first things that come to mind. To the actual game itself though and it is enjoyable to both play and watch. I still haven't been to Wimbledon even though I live so close. I am hoping to go this year though hopefully!
Tennis is a game played with a strung racket which is used to hit a rubber ball covered with felt over a net. Tennis can be played on grass, hard court and clay surfaces. It can be played in singles format(1v1) or doubles (2v2).
The Court
The lines on the back of the court are called the baselines (at the back of each side) and the service line (middle of the court). The outermost lines at the sides are called the doubles sidelines. These are the boundaries used when doubles is played. The lines on the inside of the doubles sidelines are...

Charlie Wilson's Fight for Afghanistan
Advantages: Great Acting, excellent story
Disadvantages: Some sad scenes of the Afghan suffering
...Charlie Wilson's War is a film which I had been undecided about for a few weeks so I finally took the plunge and bought it. I think the deciding factor was that it stared Tom Hanks and Julie Roberts, both of which I like.
The film features Charlie Wilson, played by Tom Hanks who is a party loving Congress man. He is good friends with Joanne who is a rich Socialite, played by Julia Roberts. Joanne manages to talk Charlie into looking at the troubles in Afghanistan where they are being invaded by the Russians. Charlie goes and sees the troubles first hand and is shocked at what he finds. He does agree to help Joanne by getting the weapons and ammunition which they need to defend their country. To do this Charlie is helped by a CIA agent, Gust Avrakotos and soon finds he needs to persuade the Congress to give them large amounts of money...

Charlie Wilson's War - Sheer Brilliance
Advantages: Engrossing, clever, an eye-opener.
Disadvantages: none
...Director: Mike Nichols
Screenplay: Aaron Sorkin
Book: George Crile
Genre: Biography - Drama
Country: USA
Certification: 15+
Language: English
Released: 5th May, 2008 (DVD)
MAIN CAST:
Tom Hanks (Charlie Wilson)
Amy Adams (Bonnie Bach)
Julia Roberts (Joanne Herring)
Philip Seymour Hoffman (Gust Avrakotos)
In the early 1980's, the USA was smack in the middle of a cold war with Russia. While The USA was keeping a close watch on Russia's growing army and tensions were at there highest, the Russians invaded Afghanistan in an attempt to enrich themselves with the country's crude oil. Because Afghanistan did not have an acting army, it was down to the people to defend themselves against the Russians... not an easy task considering that they didn't have the necessary weapons to fight. With the Russians...

Twin Tales by Jacqueline Wilson
Advantages: Great reading for all the family of all ages
Disadvantages: NA
...and suddenly Connie can swim like a mermaid.

Wilson tries 'gothic' but loses the element of surprise
Advantages: realistic, mildly enjoyable
Disadvantages: predictable, dramatic event too sudden and unresolved
...This is the first Jacqueline Wilson book I have tried reading (as part of shadowing the ?Berkshire Book Award? and I have to admit that it was better than I?d anticipated. Wilson is famous for writing amazingly popular stories for young children, around 10-13, and has been honoured with many of the UK?s top awards for children?s books. She was also the Children?s Laureate for 2005-7 and was awarded an OBE in 2002. Obviously I was aware of her popularity, but I was convinced that her books were over-hyped, dull and simplistic. (These are the same reasons why I have never read any of the Harry Potter books.)
?My Sister Jodie? tells the story of two very different sisters: Pearl is shy/reserved and her sister Jodie is much more confident with a flair for getting in to trouble. The story is told from Pearl?s perspective, but Jodie...

A *Beeping* Ace Tennis Game!
Advantages: Individual competitors, difficulty about right, challenging and rewarding
Disadvantages: Graphics not great, sound emulation problems, inconvenient controls
...*BEEP* off themselves I never thought the handheld be able to pull off voice samples. Ironically though, when playing this on the Game Boy Color and the Game Boy Advance SP, the sounds suffer with the voices clipping, if not, becoming beeps. The Super Game Boy emulates the audio well, but the opposition sprite flicker seems bad on the bigger screen.
CONTROLS
Top Ranking Tennis opts for a range of serves and shots over accessibility, so inconveniently, both the Select and Start buttons sees to strokes; the game can only be paused by tapping Up twice before service toss. It can take a while to get a feel for the tennis - you'll need to strike at the sweet spot or otherwise it can be a mishit. So it feels realistic. It's subtle enough that there are service lets, but not enough that, should you play as a player with a delicate shot then you...
