Installing Windows NT 4.0 My copy of NT was bootable, so it was a relatively simple installation. I’ve never got the floppy install to work. It starts out with a blue and yellow DOS-like environment, which is the beginning of the install process. I don’t remember much of this, but it was really easy. NT 4 installed in about 45 seconds on my 1.4GHz computer, which is good because it takes me almost 45 MINUTES to install XP. NT’s install looks almost exactly like XP’s, how it starts with the blue and yellow, then moves on to colors. MY VIEW ON WINDOWS NT SERVER v4.0

Advantages: VERY GOOD SERVER SOFTWARE AND RELIABLE
Disadvantages: A BIT OUT OF DATE BUT HEY IT WORKS

...Windows NT Server v4.0 was the first Server OS I ever used and I must say its capabilities were amazing. It was easy to install and with the Service Pack 6a Which allowed a 60Gb Hard drive. I'm not going to tell the min spec as it is low but tell you the features that I have found. The first server OS I tried on my new network at work was 2000 Server but the 2000 workstations wouldnt work as the cashed credentials were causing a problem. I was under pressure and my only option was to try the microsoft knowledge base. It gave me a solution but it didnt work. I know very unusual. So i put on NT 4 Server and they worked. I find that the user manager is better than 2000 as you can select a differnet logon script and user profile, etc all atb once wheras on 2000 you have to do them seperatley. Windows 7 - The Best OS Yet!

Advantages: Great new toolbar, excellent personalisation, overall brilliant design
Disadvantages: Really similar to Vista.

...In July, I downloaded the Release Candidate of Windows 7 to evaluate the new operating system and I have to say it's the best version of Windows yet! It surpasses Vista in every way. Windows 7: Is what Microsoft is saying really true?

Advantages: Runs really fast, Some very good features, any decent machine can run it.
Disadvantages: The Price. It looks like vista and it really is just a brush up on the old OS

...Windows 7 has been said by Microsoft as being much improved and everyone would be happy with the end result. But is it really better, below is my review of a few sections which I believe is most important and compare it to older versions. Speed: 9/10 Much faster than Vista. To compare with the Vista OS, on Vista it took around 30 secs to 45 secs to boot up and log me in. Now on Windows 7 it takes 20 - 30 secs to boot up. Shut down is also so much faster. Vista = 15 secs... Windows 7 = 5 secs..... So there is a huge improvement. Also when running programs or browsing the internet you feel like this Operating System is very smooth and just does what you want (most of the time) Program Compatablilty: 8/10 Most Programs that run on Vista will run on Windows 7 (32-bit) very well. Advantages: smooth, quick, easy to install and use, pretty to look at, simplified for the masses
