Windows Xp Home Edition

Advantages: Easy to use, Main operating system, Great help available
Disadvantages: Prone to viruses, still some bugs

...Windows XP, my one and only ever operating system! I have tried Mac and tried Vista on other computers, and i don't think they compare to XP! Vista is trying to be an Apple product, and i don't think you can enjoy a mac after years of Microsoft!!! I love all the hidden features of it and trying to figure stuff out with it! Admittedly its a very dated OS nowadays but millions of computers still use it! It's a powerful operating system and it's good at what it does! Fair enough there are bugs in it still that need to be eliminated, and it is prone to viruses unlike an Apple Macintosh but i think what XP needs more than anything is a second release, exactly how it is but with all the bugs eliminated! XP2 =] Because no amount of Special Packet updates can fix an operating system! It needs to be independently and professionally improved...

Microsoft Windows Xp home with SP2

Advantages: easy to run, is compatible with most software

...was when i was setting my pc up and needed to use the internet to find some graphics drivers on the net, before i had installed my own firewall and antivirus. There are many good, and in some cases, free secuirty suites that will serve a muuch better purpose that the default. You will regret it if you don't change it soon after install, trust me!!! Windows Xp home is very well endowed to deal with the new craze - wireless networking. When i configured mine, all i had to do was install the drivers for the wireless card and after a reboot, it recognised the wireless connection instantly. The only thing stopping me getting on the net, was the stupid utility that came with the card that was trying to intefere with the windows settings. Nice System- Windows XP Home Edition

Advantages: safty, easy to use.
Disadvantages: no much features.

...this is a very nice product, easy to use, have been use it alot of time. product with a reasonable price, which is afordable for most ppl. it is a very safty system, I do not use extra firewall to protect my computer. the revert system is very helpful, when your system does not works well, you can easily sort it out by reverting your system to the back. home edition does not have so many features as the professional edition, but it is enough for personal use, and the price is much cheaper than the professional. SP2 is emphasis on the safty of system in my understanding, i kept upgrade every week, and I surf on net everday, but have never get spyware from internet. The only disadvantage is the there is no much features on this system, it is not beautiful as some other systems....

Windows 7 overview

Advantages: Easy to use, Aesthetically pleasing, User friendly
Disadvantages: Not enough variation from vista, no desktop button

...and themes and lots of new gadgets that are moveable anywhere around the screen (unlike in vista). This can make the whole windows experience slightly more enjoyable and fun to use. One of the main difficulties I have with the new taskbar in windows 7 is that there is no longer a desktop button which instantly minimizes all windows which I used to found very useful. I?m sure this is rectifiable but I have so far been unable to find an option to open the desktop. Overall I think of Windows 7 as a great system but cannot help but feel it is not a new Operating system but just Vista plus. I would seriously recommending getting this if you have troubles with vista as it is very user friendly and much more aesthetically pleasing. Windows 7 - it makes Vista look like a beta

Advantages: smooth, quick, easy to install and use, pretty to look at, simplified for the masses
Disadvantages: Vista should have been like this - Microsoft robbed us!

..., the Windows 7 install was very smooth and easy. Windows Vista was pretty good, faster than XP and less hassle, Windows 7 goes that step further, its nearly a breeze. Much to my delight, Windows 7 even recognised and installed my internet/modem before I had even fully loaded windows! Which was amazing enough as I normally have to battle with the PC to get it working. From format to fresh install probably took half an hour, maximum. Then there?s the fun of installing everything else that you usually use in windows, but because its new, at least you don?t have a 15 service packs and a billion mb?s of updates to download and install. Just a handful. One of the gripes people have/had with Vista is the lack of driver support. Most things didn?t work straight off and required hacked drivers or just wouldn?t work at all! That?s not the case with Windows 7...

Windows 7 - The Best OS Yet!

Advantages: Great new toolbar, excellent personalisation, overall brilliant design
Disadvantages: Really similar to Vista.

.... Remember the wide variety of themes in 98? Well, some of them have made their way onto Windows 7. I am told some computers came with themes in both XP and Vista but of the 4 PCs I've had on both platforms, none have had themes. My favourite theme is the United Kingdom one. It has an assortment of UK landmarks for the desktop image which rotate every 30 minutes so the desktop doesn't really get boring (unless, like me, you spend every spare moment in front of a computer screen). One thing I dislike about Windows 7 is that it is basically just the same as Vista. Apart from a few name changes and completely new layout, there aren't many differences. If you have got Vista, it's a bit of a waste of money upgrading when you've already got all the features.
