Advantages: Good comfort & support
Disadvantages: Not waterproof

...Buy one and a half sizes up from your normal size. I am a size six and a half normally, and would not have been comfortable in anything other that the size eight that I bought. The boots are NOT waterproof, even after the first use in mildly wet conditions. I will have to buy a spray to see if I can make them waterproof. I had read other reviews saying that these boots were not waterproof, but decided to go for them anyway and waterproof them myself if necessary, as I needed the support or this boot. They are very comfortable & supportive. I bought these particularly for the arch support, as I have plantar faciitis. I had two blisters after first use, on the inside edge of my right foot, but this seemed to be just a case of wearing them in. Seemed fine on second wearing....

...dry and warm in winter and dry and cool in the summer. The boots have really thick rubber soles with excellent looking tread. The boots are lightweight- although they look heavy. My experience. ************* When I first tried on these boots they felt comfortable with good length and width. My only misgiving was that they have a very high tongue and this seemed to dig into the front on my ankles. I was reassured by the helpful staff in Millets that the tongue would soften in time and cause me no problems. I always wear a pair of hiking socks with my boots so thought this would give me added protection. However a few months later and the tongues were no softer and these boots were causing me serious pain when I walked! I would like to say here that I always follow a few useful tips when buying boots or shoes and thought I?d pass...

According to an article I read, Sting has received sixteen Grammy Awards for his work, receiving his first Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance in 1981, and receiving an Oscar nomination for best song. He is a member of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. That's why when I saw his Winter album advertised it seemed so different but so typically Sting that I just had to get it. ...I was fed up of my feet going numb. I love riding on those cold, clear and frosty mornings, but there's nothing worse tthan losing all sensation in your feet after an hour or so. My Sidi Inverno's weren't bad, but on those really cold mornings, when the temperature falls a few degrees below freezing, the Sidi's fell a bit short. I'd been eyeing up these Lake boots for ages, but they aren't cheap, and it took a particularly cold, foot numbing ride, to convince me to take the plunge.
