That said, when it comes to wiper blades, they seem to have come up with the goods, The quality of the rubber seems very good, and the clean sweep is as good as any "original equipment". You just assume they are ok and ignore them, when actually you should be giving them more consideration than the likes of spoilers and cone filters. The Pure Highway saved my life

Advantages: Very Portable and very easy to use
Disadvantages: Suffers from poor signal in some remote areas

...I use the Pure Highway every day in my truck and I have to say it is brilliant. It tunes into a spare FM band on my in cab radio and sounds first class. It is so easy to use and looks great as well. The Pure Highway fits into a small space on my windscreen out of the wiper swipe and keeps me legal. The Highway takes its power from the cigarette lighter and has an internal Arial that is fixed to the windscreen. I found this system ok for most journeys but when I was in more remote parts of the country I suffered from digital drop out. The pure allows you to fade this rather than here that awful screeching sound. I eventually purchased an outside Arial that fits on the cab roof via a magnetic base. This allows me 100% coverage all over the UK so far. I rely on my Pure Highway every day and I have to say it has never let me down...

...Most modern cars (that is ? cars made in the last few years) now sport a lovely type of wiper blade known as ?Aero?. These wiper blades are slimmer than their predecessors and flatter in nature. Which apparently leads to a most precise and clean wipe. More importantly, to me at least, they look nicer too. My Mark 4 Golf was made in 2001 and thus missed out as a year later (in 2002) Aero wipers became standard front and back. I have recently discovered the joy of ?Retro-fit? wiper blades. These are new Aero style blades that fit on the old arms. Thus there is no need to upgrade the wiper arms as well as the blade and I can get the look and quality of the Aero blades without the expense. ...I am the proud owner of a 206 but as with all cars there are advantages and disadvantages. The car itself is a sporty little number and is very nippy. I have the 1.4 lx, which is very smooth and handles well. The trim is standard and as other opinions go it can be quite cramped but with it being a sporty model one might expect this. The only qualm I really have with my 206 is the windscreen wipers which haven't been converted from the design of a left hand drive car and can be quite frustrating when its raining...

Very pleased.

Advantages: Refinement, performance, chassis, economy.

...I have had this car for about 2 years and 25000 miles, following a 325tds (E36) and a Passat TDI 110. The engine is very quiet once warm, and gives excellent performance between 2000-4500rpm - although there is not much at very low speeds. On a twisty road or when overtaking, it is effortless compared with a 318i - and returns 45-50mpg. Gearchange is good when warm but can be obstructive for the first couple of miles. The chassis is very competent, giving a good ride and very tidy handling even on very difficult roads - it never loses composure. It is not particularly sporty, though. The cabin is adequate for four, and there is a lot of attention to detail which is appreciated in long-term ownership - such as wipers which switch to intermittent when stationary. My lovely "L" Reg 1994 Vauxhall Astra LS 1.4

Disadvantages: Electrics not very good.

...I bought this car in October 2001 and am still driving it. On the mechanical side, this car is brilliant. If you keep the oil topped up, everything is fine. General wear and tear of peripheral parts, like any other car. The fuel consumption is very good. For travelling long distances, the seats are not very comfortable, but for journeys up to around 60-70 miles, the comfort is okay. The electrics for the window wipers are very amusing. On the intermittent setting, the wiper stops in the middle of the windscreen, and then moves on to its next chosen position, which could be any where on the windscreen. When the wipers are set to the normal speed and the high speed and you want to turn the wipers off, you have to time the switch off so that when it happens, the wipers are approaching what should be the home position...

MGOC workshop cost too much for old cars

...MGOC workshop in Swavesey, Cambridgeshire did an expensive repair on my MG BGT 1973. Only for exchange the exhaust and repair the electric line of the rear heated window, the horn and 2 windscreen wipers costs 950 GBP. The exhaust itself is only 120 GBP and wipers 19 GBP. So the labour costed over 800 GBP. How did it cost? Does those take 16 hours more to do? I can do it by myself less than 8 hours actually. The other day, I have asked them to get the MOT. They did changed rear springs without notice and then charged 600 GBP. Their work was fine but too much cost for my old MG which cost 1500 GBP originally. You should ask them exactly what to do before you take your car to MGOC workshop....

Kia magentis warranty problems

Advantages: Good value

...We have found that the Kia warranty is not all Kia would want you to believe. In our experience some items are not covered and some items which were replaced failed very quickly The original failure problem continues with no attempt by Kia to correct the part that caused the original failure. Parts are very expensive and Kia agents are also poor and very happy to replace at high cost non warranty items. Our wiper blades were replaced at every service because this item was not covered under the parts warranty at approximately three times the cost of a car parts retailer. Surprise surprise it stopped when we pointed out that we were not going to pay for another set of windcreen wiper blades. One major component took three weeks to fix , so the car was unavailabe to us, as they constantly sent the wrong part- it was stated that the part...
