Logitech wireless Mouse M305 - a great replacement for a dud

...In November 2009 I bought a Logitech M305 wireless mouse, which cost £19.99 at Currys. General information Logitech was founded in 1981 in Switzerland and is a world leader in mice. The M305 wireless mouse is designed for use with laptops and is very comfortable in the hand. It looks the same as the picture you can see on ciao website i.e. grey colour with black feature. However if you visit Logitech?s website you can see it?s available in 7 colours. I would describe the size as standard for a laptop mouse. It has a two-button design with a single scroll wheel in-between. However the palm rest is a little taller and more arched than most mice on the market. ...I purchased this wireless mouse and keyboard set when I got a new computer as I thought it would look smarter and more modern than the wire mouse and keyboard that came with it. I chose this set as I felt that Microsoft had a good reputation and, at £30, this represented good value for money. This was easy to connect up with the computer, just a simple plug in to the front of the box. That was all that was required to install. The mouse and keyboard each take two batteries. I find that the batteries wear down really quickly. This is frustrating, especially when typing where letters can be missed out in your work, or quite often, the space bar won't function. The batteries in the mouse wear out especially quickly. Having said that, this is the only flaw I can find with the product. The keyboard is comfortable to type...

A great wireless mouse

Advantages: Scrolls up down left and right, side buttons
Disadvantages: You can accidentally press the side buttons

...I really like this mouse, although it feels quite large if your going from a laptop mouse to this. I love the side buttons, they are great for going back a page on the internet and its something I have found very helpful even though it can be pressed accidentally. The right hand side button magnifys the pages in a some square I fins this useful when I'm lying ing bed watching a DVD as it means I can skip forward a chapter much easier as I can see clearer, although again it can be pressed accidentally. The scroll wheel is good, although sometimes it does scoll to far (but that may be my settings, I don't know). Also with this scroll wheel the user is able to scroll from left to right, this is useful if the user is using Exel or a spreadsheet program to move from left to right, other than that I rarely use it unless a website has...

...Well just got my new The Labtec Ultra-Flat Wireless Keyboard and mouse for a good price from my local Morrison's. So, what do I think of it so far? Well to be honest I am presently typing this on my old hard wired keyboard and mouse, the reason? Is that after just two days of moderate use the batteries have gone flat in the mouse and has become unusable! My last keyboard of this type had the same problem and I thought it was just a problem with the manufacturer that I chose but I now think it is a design fault in the way wireless keyboards are built and sold. I think the problem is with the way they use the laser in the mouse and this drains too much power thus flattening the batteries very soon with use. This is not good, and not only is it very expensive to use as they need the best types of power cells just to work at all...

What you get in the package is a mouse, charger pod which acts as the receiving unit, power lead (this is for charging purposes only does not affect the performance of the mouse if unpluged) USB lead a USB to PS2 converter and a set of rechargeable batteries. The mouse is easy to set up by following the enclosed instructions, you have to charge up the batteries first before use. The charger pod/receiving sits on your desk, the mouse fits snuggley into the pod when you need the batteries rechaarging.
