Little wireless receiver
Review of Belkin Wireless High Speed Mode USB Adapter Network adapter by greatmum1

Advantages: Good connectivity
Disadvantages: none significant

...We recently changed from wired connection to wireless Broadband after much debate. The demand for computer use, sharing of computer time was becoming a big hassle and going wireless and networking the main PC and Laptops seemed to be a viable solution. Belkin Wireless High Speed Mode USB Adapter Network adapter connects with a PC or Laptop to pick up signals sent by a Wireless router. This network adapter is external and will fit into (plugged to) a USB 2.0 port. Many broadband providers will supply a free router (or a router at a subsidised price), but with a Router but you will need a networking card or an adapter to go wireless. The manufacturer of Belkin USB network adapter gives the Data Transfer Rate: 54 Mbps and this is seen as the speed most of the time. If you wish to have higher speed- wireless is not an option use USB... Read review

Excellent and fast wireless adapter
Review of Buffalo AirStation WLI-U2-KG54 by beanp-271

Advantages: Fast setup, works with vista, easy connection
Disadvantages: none

...This is probably one of the best, and most simple to use wireless adapters there is. It connects to your computer via a USB 2.0 port or the USB 1.1, and the driver CD loads up straight away. It is simple to set up, and you can choose whether to use Windows own connection manager, or Buffalo's Client Manager V. You can connect to a wireless network almost straight away, even the ones protected with passwords. It is 54Mbps, thats 5 times faster than the standard 802.11b wireless. It also supports AOSS, and the one touch secure setup button. The password protected wireless networks that this adapter supports, are WPA and 128/64-Bit WEP. I am currently using the WEP and unlike some wireless adapters, you can save the passcode for the networks, so you don't have to enter it evrytime you want to connect. Includes full support for Windows... Read review

Belkin Wireless USB adaptor
Review of Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter Network adapter by craggybuk

Advantages: Simple to set up and use
Disadvantages: Software is not the greatest

...I bought this USB network adaptor for my son when he still had his Windows 98 machine as the PCI card that I reviewed previously was too advanced for his hardware. This USB adapter was bought to connect to my Belkin wireless router meaning that I now had a wireless network consisting only of Belkin hardware. --Whats in the box-- On opening the box, there were no real surprises. There was the USB adapter, a stand which would allow you to place the adapter on your desk if you didnt want to have it plugged directly into the back of your PC, the antenna, a quick installation guide and a CD which contained the drivers and a full manual. --Installation-- On reading the quick installation guide, it was apparent that the software had to be installed before the adapter was plugged in. The reason for this was because, when the hardware... Read review

A good, solid investment with a couple of niggles
Review of Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router and Wireless G USB Network Adapter - wireless router by sosull

Advantages: Reliable, easy to setup and use, small footprint.
Disadvantages: Gets very got through constant use, wireless adapter software can be annoying at times

...The Belkin ADSL Modem Wireless-G Wireless Router was the first wireless router I owned. It materialized in my home due to the sheer distance of my computer from the phone socket and running an RJ11 phone cable across the house was not a viable option. The router came with a thin but multilingual instruction leaflet which outlined the initial un-boxing and setup but it really could have been more concise. Nevertheless, initial setup was easy enough and I didn't experience any issues. I had one Ethernet connected computer but I did set up everything first with a wireless computer using the supplied Wireless G USB adapter. The adapter works very well, is good and stable but the supplied Belkin adapter software is fiddly to use and can be confusing. The router control panel is simple to navigate and offers a lot of options to configure... Read review

Wireless Usb 54Mbps G Compact
Review of Linksys Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter WUSB54GC by Jar_Dude

Advantages: Plug and play, easy to use.
Disadvantages: It is external, meaning not inside your computer.

...This product is very reliable great for people on the go, or even at home. Good office use and offers speeds that will satisfy anyones needs. There is only one inconvenience though, the fact that it is external. Since it is external there is always a better chance of it breaking, or being lost. Linksys is the leading networking brand and is very reliable, and there when you need it. The software provided gives you an easy to use network monitor which gives you the option to connect to what network you wish, save the network as a profile, and show the best link connection/speed. It has support for USB 2.0 and also USB 1.1 so it will work great on older computers. It is compatible with Windows 98SE, 2000, ME, XP, and also Vista. It has two wireless network modes 802.11g and 802.11b and is also compatible with 128-bit encryption.... Read review

belkin wireless adapter
Review of Belkin Wireless High Speed Mode USB Adapter Network adapter by techno_man_37

Advantages: works great most of the time
Disadvantages: none, except for the first few months for me.

...This little wireless adapter is designed to plug right into laptop of pc’s usb ports so that it enables them to be wireless and therefore can pick up a signal from a network. This can plug into your pc or laptop 2 different ways, firstly it can plug in much like a usb memory stick and just the stick itself can go straight into a usb port on your laptop or pc. The second way is to plug the holder into the pc of laptops usb port, this holder conveniently holds the wireless stick in place and has a wire leading out which can plug into the usb ports. This lead can go about a meter so is handy if you need to position it somewhere else on your desktop, also it looks quite good in its little holster and doesn’t look out of place. I bought this one a while ago from comet for I think around £20, I bought it mainly because... Read review

Finds a signal anywhere...
Review of Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO USB Adapter Network adapter by dc6118

Advantages: Very good range, useful extension, stylish
Disadvantages: Heats up quite a bit

...I bought this last year to access the new wireless router in the upstairs hall of my block of flats, and although the signal was very weak, the adapter generally managed to find a signal and function normally, whereas a friends laptop was incapable of doing so from the same position. This was about 10 metres from the router, down a floor and through several walls so I am quite impressed. I currently use it in my home, again a floor away, this time through two sets of double glazing and a wall, and it still finds a signal. The USB extension cradle is very useful, allowing adjustment to find a good signal. Sometimes gets quite heated when left on for a time, but not a real problem. A very good product, although not too cheap.... Read review

Good hardware, badly designed software
Review of Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter Network adapter by orrin31

Advantages: Good range, fast downloads
Disadvantages: Slow connections, software

...I use the Belkin USB wireless network adapter for my old laptop so my wife and I can use the internet, share files and print documents. The laptop only has USB1.1 so I wasn’t too sure plugging in a USB2.0 wireless device would be a good idea, but after installing the software and plugging in the device into the laptop, then setting it up to access my router - it worked fine. I even got a fast download speed. A few days later, my wife tried to use the laptop, which already switched with my profile. She logged me out and clicked on her own profile to access the internet to check her email. It didn’t work. She complained to me that I had done something wrong, but after looking at it using my profile it worked fine. It turned out the Belkin software would only work on one profile at a time – how useless is that? Too make matters worse, when... Read review

A little thing reaches a long way!
Review of Linksys Wireless-N USB Network Adapter WUSB300N by lhough20

Advantages: Small, strong signal, styligh looks
Disadvantages: A little clumsy and obtrusive

...This is a review of the Linksys Wireless N USB adapter. Following my review of the Linksys wireless N router I thought I’d follow it up with the other component that makes the system complete! So what’s this then? ------------------------ This is a USB adaptor for laptops and PC’s that connects to the wireless network in your home or at work and allows you to access the internet, email, download stuff etc. (even post more reviews on Ciao!) What’s different about this? ---------------------------------- Wireless N is the new upgraded wireless protocol to wireless G. The range and spped is increased so when you’re sat upstairs with your laptop or in the garden, the signal will be faster and stronger. Wireless N is much more adapted to travelling through walls and obstacles. The download speed is also up to 12 times faster than wireless... Read review

Perfect wireless home networking
Review of Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router and Wireless G USB Network Adapter - wireless router by theenglishviet

Advantages: Easy to set up, good range,
Disadvantages: Bit bulky

...I always do my research before making an electronic purchase, have a look on the internet to see what products are availble, compare them against each other and then have a look at the price. If its not in my price range, i discard it! In the end, I went with teh Belkin, mainly because I know that Belkin do quality networking products. I already had a modem router at home, but i have three laptops that i needed to connect, and i don't like being bounded by wires (simply because that means everyone ends up in my room!) so i decided to invest in this. Already an advantage, this product came with a free USB wireless adapter! Firstly, the difference between wireless G and wireless B (802.11g or 802.11b) is that G is faster than B, by about 5 times (although this is the maximum). I don't know of any other differences, i thought that you... Read review
