Great Multimedia Wireless Router from Belkin

Advantages: Reliable, Fast, Easy to configure, Lots of features, USB for sharing drives
Disadvantages: Bit expensive, Not full speed with every machine

Linksys's Lightning fast wireless router

Advantages: Fast speeds, Reliable, Stylish
Disadvantages: I had wireless problems, Gets a bit warm, no restart router option in config

...the wireless connection despite the signal strength being excellent. This resulted in a lot of whinging from my parents and a lot of head scratching by myself. I've tried several USB dongles to try to resolve this problem to no avail. These include a Netgear Wireless N RangeMax USB dongle, a Linksys Wireless N USB dongle and even a Negear PCI 54G wireless card. The machines are only about 7 metres from the router with just one wall with a window so not sure why. Interference en-route? Switching to a Belkin wireless router resolved the problem so I?m suspecting the Belkin performs better than the Linksys, which is a shame for the Linksys. On a brighter note, the wireless connection on my PC when I was using the Linksys, using a Linksys Wireless N USB dongle, is solid. Apple Iphone 3G 8GB

Advantages: A great piece of hardware with unlimited possiblilities.
Disadvantages: Can't delete pre installed apps

...I have been a customer of O2 for many years now and so after resisting as long as I could I finally gave in and got the Apple Iphone 3G on contract. I have to say I have no regrets! The Iphone 3G is a completley touchscreen phone with internet capabilities. Not only can the phone connect to wifi signals it is also permanently connected via your network provider, all the while you have signal anyway! I find that the speed of the internet on this phone is sufficient for what I use it for (train times, facebook, emails etc), it get's a bit faster when connected to wifi rather then your network providers internet but to be honest I find the normal 3G speed is fine for me. The great thing about the phone is the applications you can add; the phone can be completly tailored to you and becomes unique for everyone! There are plenty of free apps...

...The iPhone 3G is (almost) all the phone you'll ever need. Don't listen to the iPhone knockers, it's a fantastic piece of kit, it's so slick and easy to use that it even makes me use it to call people more than I ever normally would (I am a man after all so phone calls are short and not always sweet!). The build quality is excellent, I've had mine for a few months now and there isn't a scratch on any surface, it (almost) never crashes (occasionally Safari crashes after a heavy browsing session, and some 3rd party apps crash from time to time). ...I had recently bought a second laptop for my wife and needed a wireless router badly so that both of us could access internet simultaneously and wirelessly. So i searched around for a decent reliable router. i came across this one and bought it from amazon for 30 quid. It supports 802.11b and 802.11g. It has 4 wired ports so that 4 computers can be connected simultaneously. It doesnt have a USB port. Setup : it came with the setup CD and it took around 15 - 20 mins. since it involves computer restart. I have a Virgin broadband connection so had to connect this router to the modem supplied by virgin. A ethernet wire is provided with this kit. Had no problems at all with the setup. The installation needs to be done with the computer wired to the router. Also configured the router settings after logging into the router...

The Belkin was by far the cheapest router at the time (I paid £50 in 2005) compared to most other models which were on average £20 more expensive for what I could see, was the same functionality. ...to type something is surprisingly easy to use & within a few weeks, I began using my thumbs to type. The keyboard can also be changed to suit other languages. I have stuck on an InvisibleShield to prevent it from getting scratched, without having to keep it in a case, as it is quite delicate. I have been very careful with it & it has worked very well for me. Now for the the flaws.... With the Youtube feature, sometimes it does not connect to the internet even when Safari browser is in working order. The 3G symbol must be apparant for it to connect whereas with Safari, only the signal must be sufficient. This is quite annoying, as the 3G symbol is unapparant quite often. Can't really fault the AppStore, only that some of the applications that look really good are quite pricey :( Maps can't always connect to the internet, but...
