..., and that opinion has merit, but personally I was impressed with the Blair Witch Project. It is one of the few films that made me shout out 'Oh Fcuk!' quite unwittingly at its final scene. You can watch your 'Screams' and jump and shout, but ultimately you giggle at such teen flicks. I did not giggle at 'Blair Witch'. I shivered. Neither did I giggle at 'Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows'. I sighed... So what went wrong? Of course, regardless of your opinion of BW1, you'd have to admit that a sequel would prove difficult. It had all the hallmarks of a one-off. Innovative (or rubbish - depending on opinion) filming, a documentary style realism, an intriguing story, a cult following manipulated by the internet. BW2 was already going to lose. But to what extent? A valiant fight decided on points, or a first round knockout? Let's see...

...witch Stick witch is a company that sell beauty products such as face washes and spot sticks. Their products are sold in supermarkets, chemists, stores like Boots etc. This little spot stick comes packaged in a blue box with white writing and shades of pink and green. ...After the unbelievably lame first attempt at the Blair Witch legend I was surprised the effort and money was wasted on another one. Purely because the sequel looked to be something like Scream I ended up watching this teen drollery a few days ago with my partner(blame it all on him!) I'm not going to blab out the whole plot line here for the simple fact that there isn't one, but the outline of Blair Witch: Book of Shadows starts with yet another trip into that not so scary forest. The group is a mix 'n' match of excitable youths armed with camcorders and beer, the perfect goul hunting equipment! A night is spent in the wood where the Blair Witch herself is supposedly still roaming, after'witch' scary stuff ensues. Witches are everywhere...

Advantages: Entertaining
Disadvantages: Silly, but some children could be scared

...film to be anything other than darkly humorous with a good dollop of scariness thrown in for good measure. I have read the book, but many years ago and so couldn't really remember the story, but that didn't really alter my enjoyment of the film, which completely met my expectations. It isn't amazing, but it is a thoroughly entertaining story that should go down well with most families - although very young children may find it too scary. Anjelica Huston plays the Grand High Witch and is really superb. Before she turns into a witch by peeling off her skin, she is an elegant, but rather snobby woman who everyone seems to adore. Once she is a witch, she is truly disgusting to look at. Obviously much of that has to be put down to good make-up, but the way Huston holds herself is really impressive and the way that she speaks is truly creepy...

It seemed a little old-fashioned to me. I don?t think Id ever lifted it off the shelf before.
