...Aloe vera plants are brilliant, easy to care for and have endless uses. Aloe vera plats as as pictured above but as they get older do grow a stem in the middle and flower. They can grow to about 100 cm tall but dont wory you will be cutting lots off it. They need to have gravel in the bottom of the pot for drainage, and a soil/ sand mix of 50/50 to be kept best. You cant keep your aloe vera plant outside as it likes to be warm and you only need to water it when the soil drys up, about once a month for the 2 in my kitchen. I mentioned in a previous that the Palmers Lip Butter was my favourite, but i have to say that this has taken over. Aloe Vera is very good for softening the skin. It is a natural ingredient that soothes and calms. My lips are the driest and always get chapped. It doesn't help that i bite my lips as well. The first use of this lip therapy will soften your lips and instantly make the look visibily kissable. It works by softening the dry skin and this makes it look like it isn't there anymore. ...*Packaging and Price* Vaseline Lip Therapy with Aloe Vera comes in a round tin with a green and white design in a rather dated design that might benefit from being modernised slightly. The tin is small enough to fit in your handbag / makeup bag without taking up much space, at 4.5cm in diameter and 2cm in height. However, the colour of the lid and container does wear off quite quickly inside your bag leaving you with a worn looking scratchmarked tin. As far as I know, this is the only size that the product comes in. You simply lift the lid off without too much effort and it is well fitted with ridges so that it is unlikely to come off in your bag. The price is just 99p for 20g in Boots and in most other stores I have looked in the price is the same. This is very reasonable as the tin will last you ages, I bought my tin 4 months...

...I love this handy little pot of goo. Not much to look at but I never go anywhere ithout one. I find the Aloe vera one is so good for when you have a cold. When your nose gets sore you can dab a little bit on n it feels much better. It is wonderful on your lips. It makes them soft and supple. Its so useful. We even used it for a science experiement once. Its a little miracle in a pot. It smells nice too. I prefer the Aloe vera one as i had been out for ages and i came back and looked in the mirror and it was still there keeping my lips looking great! It is soo useful and feels great on your lips. Although in hot weather or when it gets warm it can melt a bit and go runny, which can get annoying as you have to wait for it to set. But I do recommend it to everyone as it lasts a long time and you can always guarentee you can find it...

Aloe Vera, advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages: It can be bought easily and there are no side effects. You have nothing to lose by trying it for a trial period.
Disadvantages: Aloe vera is liquid form, is an aquired taste. It is avalible in other flavours but even these do not mask its strong pungent taste. It can also be quite expensive costing from eight to sixteen pounds for a months supply.

Advantages: Softens lips and skin, easy to carry.

...I am a fan of vaseline lip care, which I use regularly, but have a pot that is at teast 3/4 full and will last ages. Yesterday I wandered over to Boots the Chemist with the sole intention of purchasing a birthday gift for someone. There was nothing, they must only stock things over Christmas in gift packages. Our Boots is only a small branch though. Feeling frustrated and not wanting to leave empty handed, my eagle eye scanned the shelves and spotted the Vaseline with Aloe Vera variety of lip therapy.
