Advantages: Excellent customer service; lovely staff; good benefits; and great products
Disadvantages: Sick day management and rough customers (lack of security)

The training at Morrison's is excellent, very good quality with plenty of follow up. I started work in a Morrison's store in February this year and in response to Gemimz69's comment about the induction... mine took place over 2 days!!! From 9 till 5 on Saturday and 9 till 4 on the Sunday; I had an hour break in total for each day... and I have to say it was quite hefty for just an induction; what with all the video's and questionnaires and role play's etc; but it gives a great overview of the company. I feel Fazel may have exaggerated a little with the chip and pin situation and I work on checkouts myself and I really can't see such things happening...

Morrison's with a rail link to the past

Advantages: ease of parking, good selection, fresh goods, helpfull staff
Disadvantages: nothing

...Please ignore review, hadn't realised it was for the Petrol Station only, I do apologise to all concerned. Morrison's super market Crewe. Based at the old railway works on the outskirts of Crewe, this Morrison's supermarket is quite a new development only a few years old, It has a massive Car park, with plenty of Mother Child and Disabled Driver spaces. The inside is very modern, and spacious, with plenty of room to manoeuvre the biggest of shopping trolleys around with ease, even on its most busy days. As well as all your usual shopping items, which I might add Morison does have good stocks and varieties of, this shop has, a Bakery, where you can have a uniquely design and decorated cake made to your specifications, Fresh Pizza counter where they will prepare a Pizza of your choice, also a Deli, with a great selection...

The hell of Morrisons

Advantages: Easy to get a job, anyone can work there.
Disadvantages: Anyone can work there, looks bad on CV after a while, management, pay, company policies.....

...Well, to start, I am currently an unwilling prisoner of a Morrisons store in the Salford area of Manchester. I took the job on out of desperation, and also because I wrongly thought that with my pretty decent academic, vocational and professional qualifications, something would turn up soon. I was wrong. To anyone thinking of getting a job there, for whatever reason, bear one thing in mind. Once the word Morrison's sullies your CV, no excuse will atone for it, and you will always be viewed as a knucklehead by any other potential employer. Working at Morrisons is not a pleasant experience. There is always a mini crisis in progress, which is almost always down to understaffing or supply problems (the suppliers at Wakefield, being owned by Morrisons, are also horribly overworked). Morrisons the store with more?

Advantages: Good stores

Morrisons my life in their hands

Advantages: good pay, pension scheme, staff discount, training

...I worked for Wm Morrison Supermarkets for 14 years (leaving in December 2002). I started as a enthusiastic deli assistant and ended as a disillusioned Department manager. this piece is quite long i know but i think all of it is relevant if you want to know about this company. for a quick summary go to to last paragraph. I started working for the company way back in 1989, At the time Morrisons were a relatively unknown company with less than 50 stores all in the North of England. HOW I GOT MY JOB The store was still being built, I walked in off the street had an interview straight away and within 2 hours they had called to say I had the job. I worked full time on the deli counter, it was not a great start (the store officially opened two days later) I had a few hours training and an induction then was thrown in at the deep end...

  ●Morrisons customers beware!●

Advantages: Good training, private healthcare, Very good staff canteen.
Disadvantages: staff gossip, dodgy staff, they don't like you having days off.

...the late 1890's somewhere in York by a man with the second name Morrison. I think that was pretty good memory recollection, but it may be slightly wrong as I've got the memory of a sieve. Lol. We then had a 15 minute break and then we were back to watching the video's. We watched one about Health and safety and then had a test on it, then we watched one about how to handle a dustbin (which was a bit strange and referred to the dustbin as a dog that you walk and put in it's Kennel, it was sort of comical in a lame way), and then we did a test on that too. The next video was about career promotions (which were almost non existent unless you wanted to work there for the rest of your life). The woman who was leading the induction day then took us for a tour of the supermarket, showing us the fire exits and explaining where the meet up place was...

Working at Morrisons Supermarket as an employee.

Advantages: Usual Supermarket Job Benefits
Disadvantages: Run like an army boot camp, but lacking resources.

...I had worked at supermarkets before and always found them to be reasonable jobs. This all changed when i got a job at Morrisons in Paisley , Falside road, Scotland. Good points of being an employee at Morrisons were adequate training and a staff canteen which was subsidised. Bad Points of being an employee at Morrisons were numerous. We did not get proper rest periods inbetween shifts. They would have us working till ten pm at night and back in at 6 am. Also, there were no set working hours. These were changed at the whim of the Managers and they would roster you on for two weeks without a day off if they wanted. Short staffed. Businesses have to run lean staff wise to be competitive as you all know. But my section at Morrisons was literally running at half staffing levels the entire time i worked there. Disadvantages: Where do I start?

...they are supposed to give you 3 weeks worth of notice and you're left in a bad mood and having to argue to get it put right. Plus it always seems like the other higher-rank managers are never on your side but always the other department managers. Abuse of power: They seem to want to bring in a new rule all the time just to piss us all off! A recent one includes banning sunday dinners and serving an All-Day Breakfast instead which is far from healthy, and making us pay 5p for a squirt of mayonnaise which wasn't what happened before. They will not listen to you if you aren't well and tell you to get on with whatever you're doing. They are clearly not able to manage properly and they do not care very much at all about their employee's if you ask me. Being the lowest paid supermarket as well.... I wouldn't go there if you were thinking...

Checkouts at Morrisons

Advantages: Ok-ish pay
Disadvantages: All the rest

...I started working on the checkouts in morrisons a few months ago, and at first i quite liked it. The induction day was so long I can't remember most of it. I was scheduled for a lot of training in my first few weeks and although it seemed like a lot, the first time that I actually learnt how to use a till was when I was actually serving customers. Everything was fine apart from a few minor problems. For one, I'm 17 so have to ask someone over 18 to supervise the sale of alcohol, simple enough, right? Only the supervisers on many occasions have been too busy having chat by the desk or not even around at all, so after putting my light on I get no help whatsoever. On one such occassion a friend who is 18 walked passed my till and authorised the sale. Then a superviser popped up and gave me a huge telling off. Why? Because apparently I...
