Advantages: Pace and plot
Disadvantages: Well-crafted rather than literary genius

...The first thing I should say about my reading of Norwegian Wood was that in a single particular it was not faithful to the Japanese print run, which is that mine was a single printed and bound edition, and not the red-half, green-half you might come across.... having got that out of the way, I can tell you about the contents. Norwegian Wood is a rather condensed moment of poised literary brilliance. I approached it with trepidation, since it was so widely lauded and applauded and that, in the spirit of wilful cynicism, always throws a spanner into my appreciative works. But in this case, I was willing to go with the crowd, not in a loud, baying way, because it's simply not the kind of book that I feel merits that kind of reaction; it's a quiet, thoughtful, lyrical read, and as such deserves a quiet, thoughtful, admiring reaction...

An author introduced to me by my daughter, and I am now reading my way through every book I can get my hands on that he has written! The Woods is another stand alone novel by Coben, and another fantastic thriller which I found difficult to put down until I had finished it, and had me hooked from the first page. This was the first Prehistoric Carving to be found in the area and therefore caused a great deal of excitement. An extensive search around the area where this object was found later unearthed further objects and the remains of ancient Earthworks, Rock Paintings and Rock Art. This location has now been sealed off, an area of 20 metres in diameter and has now been designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument (SAM). Located at the bottom of the Woods are the Abbeydale Works, now known as the Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet. ...Whitethorn Woods is based in a small sleepy Irish town . As it was getting busier in Rossmore the residents were discussing whether to have a bypass . The idea for a bypass had mixed feelings with the locals.If it did go ahead the bypass will have to go through an area of woodland which was called Whitethorn Woods and the well which was dedicated to a St Ann who was supposed to have spiritual powers and people come to to it to help with their various problems.We are introduced to one of the main charcters in the book straight away and he is called Father Brian Flynn the curate. He then travels around and visits some of the locals and we start to get a flavour of the book. It is very easy to read and the storyline is a little simple but as i enjoy reading Maeve Binchy I stuck at it but I can say it was not one of her better novels...

I don't advocate all of their products and some less glowing reviews will be coming of some of their ranges I really wouldn't recommend. The purpose of this review however is to introduce you to The Method Touch Wood Cleaner which is something I use with regularity. My lounge is full of solid wood Ercol furniture which is a golden dawn shade, and has taken me three decades to collect. Even my settee and chairs are hand carved wood and so it is quite a challenge to clean it all. I have used many sprays over the years, and actually my favourite way to clean it is to use a damp, almost completely rung out dry cloth, which has been immersed in a bowl of warm water to which I have added some fabric conditioner...
