Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. Woody the Woodpecker

...Woody is a woodpecker. His occupation: pecking wood of course! Boy O Boy. Woody is good. Woody lives in a tree house in a tree in a garden owned by a women. She rents out the tree house to him and he regularly dosn't pay it. One of woodys enemies is the Walrus a swedish neighbour. Woddy and him often get into big disagreements and end up fighting. In woody woodpecker there is also Chilly Willy a penguin, his house being an igloo. He is always trying to get food to fill his empty stomach. Another character is Winnie the woodpecker. She does the same sorts of things as woody and they get themselves into all sorts of adventures. What could be better than sitting on the couch munching on crisps and whatching woody? Nothing. Woody Allen - Funny Guy

Advantages: Side-splitting, easily digestible short stories and plays
Disadvantages: Does not contain all his plays, e.g. "God" and "Death" omitted

...What is it about Woody Allen? My English teacher thinks he is a irredeemable misogynist who’s only saving grace is that he can play the clarinet. She cites his portrayal of women, the character Samantha Morton plays in Sweet and Low down was her prime example, as reason enough to not watch his films or read his books. She may have a point, after all, Mr. Allen’s private life seems to have more twisted relationships than American Beauty. The question is; do you subscribe to this opinion and consequently not read or watch any of his work? Or do you give the guy a chance to show just what a sheer comic genius he is? Toy Story Woody Action Figure

...Okay my wee boy loves this toy and its a brilliant (although small) action figure that he has placed in his collection with pride. The character is more of a characiture of Woody. My one worry is that the toy itself is a little flimbsy and delecate. I think i paid £6.99 for this and i suppose it was worth the money. The item has plenty of colours and is reasonably true to the movie character. The Hat comes off but i would say that the boots look uncharacteristically big and are not in proportion to the rest of the action figure. I honestly think there are better Woody toys out there and i would recommend shopping around for a similar or better item from the seemingly massive toy story collection...
