Hats On !

Advantages: Looks elegant, keeps my eyes shaded.
Disadvantages: None whatsoever.

...I've always liked to wear something on my head, I'm not the elegant lady-like type and not very courageous fashion-wise, I've never worn a stylish felt creation adorned with feathers and stuff, I'm more a straw hat in summer and woollen cap in winter woman. Some years ago I decided to wear not just any cheap straw hat any more but the real thing, a Panama hat, as it becomes an elderly lady. But it's not only this, I've never been a one for sunbathing and after two cataract operations I've become even more adverse to direct sunshine, I need my hat now. Of course, I don't get a suntan this way, but I won't get skin cancer, either. Midnight Cowboy

Advantages: For lovers of the film, the period or the music of John Barry.
Disadvantages: A bit too easy listening for some

Review of Midnight Cowboy - Original Soundtrack

It definitely is basic cotton wool!

Advantages: Cheap, does what it needs to do.
Disadvantages: Have to use quite a few, bag is not recyclable.

...Boots Basic Cotton Wool is just 48p so is a bargain price for an everyday use product. The packaging is very basic and is a clear bag with the Boots logo & some information on the cotton wool (100% wool) and it tells you the contents of the bag (100 balls). Once I had ripped a hole in the bag I pulled out a couple of bits of cotton wool and was a little disappointed to see that they were quite a bit smaller than other cheap cotton wool balls that I have brought in the past. I use cotton wool for cleansing my face so I applied a little cleanser to a ball and begin wiping it around my face. I did find that because they were so small I had to use a couple pushed together just to get the job done. I did actually end up using more balls than I would with a different cheap brand and this was a disappointment to me as the price is not...

Advantages: Passable quality, quite soft, low price.
Disadvantages: Little subtle bumpy bits in the cotton. Not really suitable for sensitive delicate skin.

Cowboys and Indians Abbott & Costello style

Advantages: Good routines, some good songs and fun story
Disadvantages: A bit of an oddity by todays standards

Howdy cowboy!

Advantages: a great little toy for 18 months plus

...The clip clop cowboy is a really fun little toy from Tomy and both my two little girls really love it. It is made from sturdy plastic and comprises of a bright yellow horse ridden by a cowboy. The colours are really bright and it is a really attractive toy. The best thing about this toy though is not what it looks like but what it does. If your child presses down on the cowboy's hat you hear a loud neigh from the horse who then proceeds to take his cowboy for a ride. The horse and cowboy travel for about a distance of one metre before stopping with another neigh! As it moves, all the horse legs are moving up and down and so is its head while all the time you cah hear it clip clop! It is great fun to watch (if you're two!) and great fun to chase after as well!
