.... They start as little as about £50 though and go up to £350+!!! So what is my bench made of? It is made from Rigid steel Tubing that can easily support the weight of yourself and the weights you are going to lift. This can be an extreme amount of combined weight so you need to know its strong enough to take it. This copes easily with no breakable components. The feet for the legs are covered in rubber to prevent slippage when working out and damage to your floor. The part you lie on is a cushioned board covered in wipe clean vinyl. Good for getting the sweat off and very comfortable and grippy. There are no sharp edges to irritate or rub you during exercise. What does it do? Well it something you work on rather than do. A weights bench that doesn't wobble!!!!! Atlast!!!!!!

Decent beginners weights bench

...During my gap year from sixth form to university I got a job as a lifeguard at the local sports centre and as a consequence spent a lot of time in the gym. I puchased a york 6605 weights bench so I could workout at home instead of travelling to and from the gym on my days off. It was reasonably straightforward to assemble and at first I was delighted with it. However, after using it a few times I began to notice the design faults. Firstly, when doing leg curls, especially quadricep raises it was hurting my shins, I don't think it was designed with tall people in mind (im 6ft 1'). Because of this I had to place something on the seat to elevate my vertical position. The second problem was the bench press. This was fine when performing flat or decline bench presses, but when performing incline ones it is very hard to lift the weights off...

It Works for me....sometimes....!

Advantages: Cheap. Good for buying presents.
Disadvantages: Sell a lot of titles you've never heard of....

...The Works is a discount bookstore which can be found on many high streets. I have browsed around a fair few discount bookstores, but have always found this store to be the best in it?s class. Overall, I tend to find that a lot of discount bookstores sell a lot of uninteresting titles, & books you?ve never heard of. The Works does also fall into this category, but seems to also sell more bestsellers than other stores (often current ones at that), covering a wide range of authors. Books are laid out according to genre & are for the most part stacked on shelves with the cover facing forwards, so that you can see at a glance what titles are in stock. The more popular fiction & bestsellers are laid out on tables at the front of the store, with reference books & childrens books being on shelves running down the sides & back of the store...

Light and Sound Hammer Bench

Advantages: Great for co-ordination
Disadvantages: The base of the hammer can be pushed into the mouth

...appealing for a toddler to look at with the bright colours, flashing lights and the sounds it makes. It is also good for colour and shape recognition. The batteries also last for ages, it came with the 3AA batteries when I bought it second hand in April and I am still on the same set now. This bench is very hard wearing, it has been tested by my son on many occasions and is still looking as new and working. But best of all ? my son loves it! ****Negative Points**** Although the hammer is shaped so that is gets wider at the base to stop the toddler from putting it in their mouth, my son has managed to do this. To make matters worse as the base of the hammer is like a ball attached to it my son got it in his mouth and then panicked as he could not get it out, the more he panicked the more his teeth gripped on to it and he was hysterical...

...This review is on that good old British shop, known only to those of us who for some reason admit to going in there as The Works. It is one of those shops that you just like to either love and/ or hate, but sadly I hate it. The Works is one of those shops that sells off all the old 'rejects' from other places, and they stock everything from books to music to craft things. They sell everything at stupidly low prices, just really for the simple reason that no-one will buy them otherwise. Take foro example an encyclopaedia of the Royal Family that would normally retail at £20 or more in one shop, but take it and put it in the works - and you are looking at probably £3 or £4 for exactly the same thing.
