Advantages: A Good Insight into the Survivors Battle
Disadvantages: Very sad if you only focus on the event and not the rescue mission

...World Trade Centre, as it says on the DVD cover, is definitely a true story of courage and survival. I saw this in my local Asda and thought it would be interesting to watch. It did not disappoint me. THE FILM The film is based on the tragic events of the September 11th disaster in America where the World Trade Centres were flown into by 2 planes and ultimately collapsed. The start of the film shows a police team heading into the first tower to help with the evacuation of the workers who were trapped at the top. As they are getting supplies the first tower starts to collapse and they try to dive into an elevator shaft for safety. The team is trapped and only one of them is able to move and as he starts to try to free the others the rest of the tower falls down and he then is also trapped. He is hurt so badly that he shoots himself...

The fall of the world trade centres

Advantages: It leaves out the graphic attacks
Disadvantages: The story is drawn out

...Its not surprising that one of the most catastrophic events in American History would eventually make it on to the big screen. What is surprising is that it has happened only 5 years after the attacks. World Trade Centre is just one of the films that attempts to recreate the events of September 11th, 2001. As the New York police get set for another day on the beat, the news comes through that a plane has crashed into one of the twin towers. This follows two of the surviving officers who are trapped between the rubble and reminisce about their family's and their lives off the job. World Brave Centre

Advantages: Moving, shows the good of humans, well acted
Disadvantages: Obviously upsetting in parts.

...I'm not a fan of movies based on real life events, as I find them a little too uncomfortable to watch, I prefer to watch something a bit more escapist and funny! But when my brother bought the World Trade Centre DVD when we were out shopping last week, I decided it would be worth a watch, and so I settled down last week to watch World Trade Centre, based on the events of 9/11 in 2001. The film follows the officers of New York City who work in the Port Authority region. When they hear of the first plane hitting the North Tower of the World Trade Centre, they are dispatched to downtown New York to help with the rescue mission, and are led by Officer John McLoughlin (Nicolas Cage). Baby, it's a wild world

Advantages: Can be cheap, convenient, mildly interesting.
Disadvantages: Maybe a bit boring.

...OK, so I cheated with the title. The World Trade Center (sic - sorry I made a British typo when I asked Melanie to add this one) isn't wild but it is wide, and long, and ... quite high too. At the top of Ploenchit Road, it's just out of the Sukhumvit area and is very easy to get to. The Sky Train is the easiest way, or you could get a bus, or even walk. If you're on drugs or it's your first time out of western Europe, you might consider taking a tuk-tuk. (More on Bangkok transport to come in another opinion.) Once you've got there, the first feeling is of being overwhelmed with the vastness of this shopping mall. However, when you scratch below the surface, I suspect that you'll find much less of interest here than your initial expectation. BAY TRADING

Advantages: Great quality, styles and prices

...Well the answer to my title is quite simple, um.... cash for clothes and accessories and in this case DECENT, GOOD QUALITY Bay Trading items, sorry about the dodgy title but I couldn't really think of anything else! I've only really noticed Bay Trading in my local town centre recently, I've only just started shopping there too so her goes my opinion on the shop itself. The store itself is relatively small but have been in bigger branches, with racks down the sides of the small, thin, long store and 1 single rack all the way down the middle of the store, things can get a little cramped. When loads of people are in the tiny store all at once, things can get a litte out of hand. Luckily the store uses the floor above it too for the changing rooms. The changing rooms are great with a big communal area and then 2 smaller changing rooms...

Disadvantages: The specific details about Bristol will not be of interest to all readers

The Horrific Events of 9/11

Advantages: Assists in educating those that know not of the events that took place.
Disadvantages: Poorly scripted, makes a mockery of the great effort that went into rescue.

...'World Trade Center' is the touching tale of the events that took place on September 11th 2001, but is this film actually any good? In all honesty it's not too great at all and is in fact one of the most disappointing films I have seen in a long while. Whilst I appreciate the subject matter and understand why Oliver Stone may have seen it fit to make such a film, I just don't think that such a feature film as this should have been made about such a terrorist attack that killed so many. September 11th 2001 was of course the day that planes were crashed into each of the twin towers and they resultantly collapsed, many people dying in the process. ...entertainment and are probably better films. If however, you want a reminder of that fateful day then perhaps this is worth watching. To the film itself. The film is a factual true story account of what happened the day the world changed when the planes hit the World Trade Center. There were so many angles this film could have been approached from. Such was the enormity of the disaster that so many focal points could have been picked. Oliver Stone, the director chose to approach the subject from the point of view of two Port Authority police officers, John McLoughlin (Nicholas Cage, not the best casting for this role, I don't think) and Will Jimeno (Michael Pena) and their families. The film follows how the tragedy affected them as the events unfold. McLoughlin and Jimero enter the Trade Center as part of the emergency response teams...
