World War 2 In Colour, Air War
Advantages: Genuine footage
Disadvantages: How the Amercians won the war
...Of all the branches of the armed services of probably pretty much any country the air force is probably seen as one of the most glamorous, or perhaps even the most glamorous.
World War 2 In Colour, Air War, tells the true story (shown with actual live colour footage, filmed by combat cameramen) of the real story of the fighting aircraft of World War 2 and of their brave and dedicated aircrew and equally brave and dedicated ground support staff who, at great risk to themselves, kept the aircraft serviceable and fighting against the enemy Axis forces.
The image of the airman, smartly dressed in his flying suit, and flying free above the earth was only a small part of it. A very small part of it. For being an air combatant during World War 2 was often not much fun.
The programme shows how dangerous and how short the life of an air...

A world at war
Advantages: Great single player campaign, nice graphics, decent online experience
Disadvantages: Historically innacurate at times, animation a bit clunky, addition of vehicles
...landing around you, but it is great fun nontheless.
The campaign is split into battles where you play as an American in the Pacific against the Japanese and where you play as a Russian against Germany on the Eastern Front. This works really well and provides great diversity throughout the game. Each set of missions have different characteristics, which as I say, keeps it fresh.
Graphically it's a stunning effort from Activision. The attention to detail is amazing sometimes.
Online play is hit and miss. Activision have borrowed a lot of 'Call of Duty 4's' aspects and implemented them into their game. It's not a bad idea, as Call of Duty 4 got online play arguably nearly spot on but it lacks a bit of originality and sometimes doesn't work in the World War 2 setting. The 'perks' you can choose are cluttered with perks nobody really uses and some...

call of duty 5 world at war ps2
Advantages: price game
Disadvantages: graphics, no live, system
...Call of duty 5 world at war is a lot like call of duty 4 except for a few differences including of course the maps. I own call of duty 5 for xbox 360 and it is one of the greatest games ive ever played. I do not own it for ps2 but I have borrowed it fromm a friend and it is not to bad. The thing that I and many others like to do on call of duty is to play the online game and be able to play with friends, and people you dont know, but of course on the ps2 you are not able to do that.
Also since the ps2 is such an old system the graphics are no where near as good for ps2 as for xbox or even for ps3. But I do have to say if you do only have the ps2 then I thinki that you should definetly get it. Also the price is very good and a big plus for this game is nazi zombies which you will be able to do by yourself or play with friends if you...

This game tops ALL of those other World War 2 Games!
Advantages: online is fun campaign is amazing co operative ranking chat rankable guns etc
Disadvantages: none
...Consider I love World War II games, and I respect all those who died fighting to protect their country (including Britain, Germany, America, Russia, China, Japan and so on!)
I really respect World War II games as they have taught me a very important lesson... It doesn't matter who you're fighting for, its what YOU do that makes a difference...
Anyway, enough of that... Im here to talk about Call of Duty 5 World At War... And why I think it is possibly the best World War II game to date, even beating the Medal of Honor Series! (And believe me, thats HARD TO DO!)
I love Call of Duty 5, I think its an amazing game, with an unbelievable realism to detail, the single player campaign really sets all those other games appart from one another... The missions are fun, yet gripping... And wait, it gets better!
World at War offers YOU...

Just another world war 2 FPS? I think not!
Advantages: Awesome graphics and sound, cool gameplay modes, zombies!
Disadvantages: lacks development from COD4, multiple glitches and mutiplayer issues.
...Call Of Duty - World At War - XBOX 360
----- First Impressions -------
The opening sequence of the game is impressive to say the least with old clips of world war 2 combined with footage of the game. It really gets you immersed into the role and gets you hyped up to play the game. You are then presented with your main menu with several options of gameplay including single player or co-op campaign, and the infamous multiplayer experience.
----- Single Player / Co-op Campaign ------
The Xbox 360 version of the game focuses on the initial battles of World War II in the Pacific and Eastern Europe involving the United States, the Empire of Japan, the Soviet Union, and Nazi Germany. It is told from the perspectives of a Marine Raider and a Red Army soldier and is based on several historical battles, including the raid on Makin...

air battles of world war 2
Advantages: dramatic recount of dog fights
Disadvantages: none for me
...AIR BATTLES OF WORLD WAR TWO
This DVD is another great documentation from battles fought in world war 2. This DVD features some dramatic dog fights over Britain, fought between British and German pilots during the Battle of Britain. And the Japanese Zeros versus the American Hellcats and corsairs over the pacific. And the USAAF raid on the ploesti oilfields in Romania.
The DVD contains an Interactive menu, scene selection, previews on other war files titles.
Having had family who fought in WWII it fascinates me to see the kinds of things that they had to go through. It is great being able to learn more about our history, as during my whole time in school all of our history studies revolved around Russia and Germany. Which even then just did not seem to make sense to me. And so I embarked on my journey of learning about it...

Homefront DVD in Colour. World War 2 In Colour
Advantages: Interesting to see colour footage
Disadvantages: None, really
...This DVD is part of the History Channel World War II in Colour. It is the story (shown in colour) of how the people of the USA and Britain coped on the homefront, whilst the service personnel of both countries were away fighting against the Axis countries in what must have seemed like the four corners of the globe.
The Atlantic, the Pacific, Northern Europe, Southern Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the far East, Australasia, and so forth.
The first chapter of the DVD is entitled "making do."
Because the programme was created for the American audience, it begins not at the start of the homefront in Britain, but with the homefront in America, which was basically created only when Pearl Harbour was attacked by the Japanese. Suddenly, America new what it was like to face a relentless enemy who seemed implacable and incapable...

Call of Duty 5: World at War
Advantages: Brilliant Graphics, great War battles!
Disadvantages: Handling of character
...Game Information:
Media: Video Game
Genre Action/Adventure/War shooter
Platform: Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, WII, PC
Publisher: Activision
Developer: Treyarch
Rating: 16 and over
Release Date: 14 November 2008
Price: Others may vary
This is Call of Duty: World at War, five series edition of World war, and there are more battles, more explosions, and even bigger war.
After the colossal success of Call of Duty 4, it does feel like a retrograde step, jumping back in time. Everyone knows Nazis are the best enemies you can fight, there are just so many of them to fight. It's always satisfying nailing the them, but to give things a bit of flavour this time around half the campaign is set in the Pacific theatre with you gunning down paddy fields full of Japanese folk. It's all about World War 2 end-game with parallel...

World At War, opinions in conflict
Advantages: flowing gameplay with a switch of character, good options in game modes
Disadvantages: lacks in a real kick and challenge when on normal difficulty.
...So it's a game. On World War 2. Been done alot. So thats it right? Old story, old game? Well not quite. Firstly the historical accuracy is immense for all the history geeks out there and it's displayed and played out well and it keeps up to date with what Call of Duty does best; realistic story plots and average joe characters that you follow and play. There is a fantastic charm about being Private Nobody working along with the Sergants and Lt. thus being that the story fits together and makes sense.
Is it as good as Modern Warfare? In many ways yes it is, which I realise many would spit at the screen for. But Call of Duty series are set in the war and Modern Warfare was design as a refreshing change which promised new ideals to the collection and so to return to WWII after this fresh war game does require people to be open minded to...
