A very disappointing product from Olympus

Advantages: very neat, easy to connect to a PC, runs for ages on a single AAA battery
Disadvantages: feels and looks cheap/nasty, fiddly controls, sound quality not the best

...On opening the Amazon parcel, the first thing that struck me about this unit was 'cheap and nasty'. It's packaged in one of those hard-to-open sealed plastic affairs with a small hole at the top for hanging on a retail display hook. This got my back up straight away because WS-331M is not a model commonly displayed by any of the major chains like Currys, Comet or PC World - at least not round here. The only two places I managed to source one locally were Argos and John Lewis, both of which were charging way over the odds. Hence my decision to purchase from Amazon for about £100 including express delivery. I saved about £27 over local retail. Whereas, going with Amazon's free delivery service would have saved nearly £35 over what local shops were charging for the very same thing. As you may know, neither John Lewis nor Argos match online...

Attention All University Students

Advantages: It's the best purchase i have made thus far
Disadvantages: can be a little expensive if you do not shop around properly

...carry any cords or cd programs to upload your recordings to any other computer (just plug it in and you're off). I'm a law student so it's imperative for me to get every word of my lectures. And this GEM has not let me down. My girlfriend (who is also a law student) and my friends from university have all sold their dictaphones to purchase the ws-331m. I thought i'd write this review to save you the enormous headache of researching what dictaphone to buy. I guarantee you that you will not be disappointed with this product. For the case and player i paid about $190 US (delivery included to Australia). Look out for sales on ebay, where you can find it even cheaper than this. Make sure to buy brand new and not a refurbished one. Good luck with your purchase, and i hope this helps!...

Winston is always cheerful and happy to help. His service, in my opinion, is second to none. He will take a look at the car and tell you what needs doing. He will give you a rough, on the spot and more than reasonable quote for anything that needs to be done. And he gets the jobs done quickly and efficiently. In the 4 years I have been using Winston's services, I have always been more than happy with the final costs, as they are very rarely above the original quotation, and, more importantly, have always had my cars back the same day....

Good Budget LCD TV/DVD

...Having got totally sick of watching widescreen programmes on a standard set with black lines at the top and bottom (thanks to Sky's letterbox setting) I decided to treat myself to a widescreen LCD TV. Having convinced my other half this was a good use of some of the kids inheritence I plumped for the AS TVD - 3119WS based on price and functions. The set comes as HD ready and includes a built-in DVD player. All the usual controls and functions that you would expect with either seperate TV or DVD machines are there (play, pause, volume, contrast etc) so no suprises. Setting up the machine was a cinch, straight out of the box and follow the included instructions and all the local and national channels were there. I was not expecting the bright blue glow from two LEDs on the DVD but I found that these can be turned off in the settings...
